Shutters Studio Residency: Love & Tears at the Bunker in Hamburg
For the third installment of the Shutters Studio Residency, we invited Hamburg's own DJ and producer extraordinaire, L.F.T., to explore the innovative artistry defining his unique sound.
L.F.T., Love Fist Tears, is a musical dynamo surging through electronic music's frontlines. A master of merging new wave and breakbeat-inspired electro, his tracks are a symphony of The Hague's raw beats and 80s San Francisco synth nostalgia. Labels like Return To Disorder, Mechatronica, and Eye for An Eye Recordings have echoed with L.F.T.'s creations. His debut album on Osaré Editions and the enigmatic "Salz" on Mannequin Records solidify his sonic journey. L.F.T. fluidly blends electro and techno, crafting soundscapes that mirror our fears and dreams. Based in Hamburg, L.F.T. aka. Johannes Haas co-curates events at the Golden Pudel Club and co-runs the experimental-focused "Neoprimitive" label with Lukas Fischer.
In his Shutters Studio residency, L.F.T. presents the track "Leaves Casting Shadows" created in the "Synthesizer Dreamland" at synthesizer studio hamburg. It’s a gloomy electro backbeat with distorted spoken vocals and deep sub basses. Catchy whirring synthesizers complete the song in their subtle appearances. A dark and yet incomprehensibly beautiful sonic landscape that is held before our eyes.
Shutters Studio Residency presents a rare opportunity for talented artists to immerse themselves in the creative atmosphere of Synthesizer Studio Hamburg. Founded by renowned German engineer legends Sunny Vollherbst and Frank Husemann (known for their work with Tocotronic, Tomte, Blumfeld), this iconic studio resides within the captivating Feldstraßen bunker and offers a unique collection of around 30 vintage synthesizers, organs and pianos, as well as 16 drum machines and beat boxes.
Shutters Studio Residency and partnering label Kommerz Records are providing this platform for artists to push the boundaries of their sound, explore the possibilities of vintage analog synthesizers and present their creative creations.
