Great shots of the old roker end on this film...my first game was a few seasons after when it had been reduced, would have loved to have seen it in all its glory!
We’re all doomed Macoosy I went to Sunderland matches religiously between 1979 and 1984 but I don't remember Roker Park being reduced so it must've happened sometime from 1985? I actually have a tiny piece of Roker Park to this day in a box!! It's just a small piece of red painted wood that broke off in my hand while stood on the terrace, clambering amongst the crowd in the Fulwell End. It was a sacred place for a few years!!
@@davidsanderson5918 i believe it was reduced from 17000 to 8000 capacity because of water ingress in the concrete supports end of 1982 season! What a drop!
Shit away support from massive Leeds eh. Sunderland used to take thousands down to Leeds, same as Newcastle (my team) Yet to hear them now they are the loyalest fans in the world. Leeds to Sunderland is about 100 miles, no excuses.
@@SunderlandAFCTV It sure was not recorded using 4K HD that is for sure. ..It's like here is a blur kicking the football to another blur ..Is the quality of recording that was acceptable in 1980? Poor quality film.
@@briansaiditsoitmustbetrue4206 You seriously need to get your eyes tested if you think that's blurred. No, it's not the ultra high def you get today, but the quality of these games even from the early 70s is absolutely amazing. You are aware that this is from over 40 years ago, aren't you?

Another bitter Newcastle fan 😂
ROKER PARK GREAT MEMORIES,
Great stuff, weird to think that Alan Brown ended up as a Prison Officer at Durham Jail...
5 years earlier, European cup finalists...
I was in the Roker end with me cuz Neil. Great memories.
I was there in the Roker End next to barrier segregation.Haway The Lads.
I was in the fulwell, with a Leeds supporting mate
was there in the Fulwell
I emigrated a week after this game.
How good was Alan Brown that day
Is that Roger Tames commentating?
It certainly is.
The world' worst commentator - shame they didn't hang onto Kenneth Wolstonholme. He gave them class and authority.
Was this video clip recorded using a potato
Yep, Yukon Gold - the best type of potato!
