3 Earring Jacket Styles: A Silversmithing Tutorial

This tutorial shows how to make 3 fun earring jackets to enhance your simple stud earrings. For materials, I used 20 gauge sterling round wire, 14 and 16 gauge sterling square wire, and 12 gauge sterling half round wire. As always, I use hard silver sheet solder and My-T-Flux from Rio Grande.

Did you use hard solder for everything? I use hard and then medium, sometimes easy if I had a lot of soldering to do on the piece.

I use hard for virtually everything. There are a few instances where I will use a bit of easy like soldering a pin into a hinge:)
