Great demo - thanks guys. Would love to see some more scenarios played out. What happens if a Contact is added to more than one open Opportunity? Can a Lead/Contact be in more than one active lifecycle? What happens if a Lead is converted into a Contact that already has an active Lifecycle? Do lifecycles ever close automatically? ie after a period of inactivity. Does the Contact stages match the Lead stages?
great questions! We will do more videos on this (planning to record another this week). But to get you some quick answers: - A Lead/Contact can only be in one active lifecycle. So other Contacts added to an Opp have their status changed to something like "Opportunity (Additional Contact), but not a lifecycle created. - If the Lead has a Lifecycle and the Contact as a Lifecycle it depends on the scenario as there's several possibilities, but usually one record will be kept active and the other will be "deactivated" and marked with a value to note what happened. We have accounted for 35 lead conversion scenarios in the sfdc package - A lifecycle will not close automatically. BUT a Lead/Contact could be automatically recycled (e.g. being worked by sales over 30 days and now activity) and this would close the lifecycle - Yes, the stages match across Lead and Contact. But Contact has more as it has stages that align with the Opp.
