    What is the best strategy to succeed in the market now for someone with more or less than £5000?

      There are strategies that could be put in place for solid gains regardless of economy situation, but such execution is usually carried out by an investment specialist.

      Very true. Despite having no prior investing knowledge, I started investing before the pandemic and pulled in a profit of approximately 130k that same year. In reality, all I was doing getting professional advice.

    the source of the coins DOES matter and can make the coins frozen at some point in future when depending on where you sell it and where it originated from (number of hops), maybe the seller used some mixing service and you get mixed coins that could be flagged, typically those that come from a hack.

      Because of Bitcoin's immense divisibility, sats from 'tainted' transactions are spread all over the BTC network worldwide. Most Bitcoin ends up getting tainted. So it's a total wash.

    The seller's reputation is built up by either burning BSQ, creating a BSQ bond, or transferring account age information from Bisq 1. Succesful trades don't contribute to reputation.

    • @IanMajor
      @IanMajor  5 місяців тому +3

      Thanks for the clarification. Hopefully that changes as successful trades not counting towards reputation is pretty nonsensical.

      @@IanMajor I thought it was a bit weird too. But it makes sense when you follow the money.
      Bisq contributors are paid in bitcoin, but only indirectly via the BSQ "colored" coin; BSQ is sold for bitcoin. But of course for a contributor to sell BSQ there must be a buyer to take the other side of the trade. Up until now the main incentive for holding BSQ was to use it to pay for Bisq trading fees. When BSQ is used instead of bitcoin, the trading fee is lower.
      By requiring Bisq Easy sellers to effectively stake BSQ to gain the necessary reputation, a new market for BSQ was created. This additional demand for BSQ should make it easier for Bisq contributors to exchange their BSQ compensation for bitcoin, which in turn makes contributing to Bisq more attractive.

    Since I’ve already bought all my Bitcoin through centralized KYC exchanges is it worth it for me to switch to buying from Bisq or other non KYC if I’m only buying small amounts? Usually like $100 worth each time.

      I've seen no indication that it wouldn't, and especially given that you can carry it over from Bisq 1 I have to imagine there will be continuity between the beta and final release of Bisq 2!

    Ian. Question : if I buy on Bisk, do I still encounter the risk of having a KYC BTC ? I suppose yes. But since I am not buying from an exchange , it becomes anonymous when into my cold wallet ? Please élaborate on that . Many among us do not understand. Me the first . Thank you !

    • @IanMajor

      So let’s say I Ian Major buy some bitcoin from an exchange. That exchange knows that I bought that bitcoin and when I withdraw it that exchange can connect my identity with that address. Let’s now say you buy that bitcoin from me on bisq (obviously you don’t know it’s me). So I send my bitcoin to your address. While that bitcoin was KYC’ed for ME, it’s not KYC’ed for YOU because at no point did you put your identity into bisq.
      Does that make sense?

      Appreciate the kind words! It's insane how much is happening, and even for someone like myself who is in this all day everyday it's hard to keep up. I typically cover those types of developments in either my monthly digest videos or sometimes I'll do deeper dives on them (I've done one on Sovryn in the past).
      I'm planning to put the next monthly digest out next week and will hopefully hit on some of these (although there's a lot to cover w/ mining as the halving approaches), so if these don't get a bunch of airtime this time around I'm sure I'll cover in the next monthly digest

    I have looked into bisq, but find it unwieldy for my purpose.
    With BTC now in the upper 5 figures, buying sub $100 equivalents of BTC seems impractical for BTC trading (as opposed to stacking/hodling). Would appreciate a video on non-KYC BTC day/swing trading.
    Nonetheless, cheers and well done.

      Appreciate the comment. I don't cover day/swing trading on my channel, but I'm sure there are good knowledge sources out there! If you want to do that with non-kyc bitcoin, I imagine you'd probably need to do something like wrapped BTC in some sort of DEX in another crypto ecosystem

    Ian i have a quick question! :) So let's say that i buy bitcoin in Basq2, then if i send my cripto to my account in binance or Bybit or any other Centralized Exchange, and then make profits there, and after that i want to sell my cripto in Basq2 again... i don't have any type of KYC from the exchanges sending info to my goverment Country?? Thanks

    • @IanMajor
      @IanMajor  Місяць тому

      Hey there - you should assume that any centralized exchange will keep records of how much you deposit, trade, and withdraw, and you should also assume that they will share that information with whatever government entity who asks for it. If you’re concerned about privacy, I would recommend having two completely separate categories of bitcoin - one that you buy and trade on centralized exchanges and one that you buy/sell on Bisq.

I just find this process to be un appealing, so many payment methods and I really do not want to have to chat with a seller or buyer. This still a great backup if things get bad with KYC.

      You can create your own buy and sell offers. Just put up a buy offer for market price or even lower, and you'll get someone to sell to you. It's not immediate like on Binance or other big exchanges, but it will happen if you let it sit for a day or so.

      It’s good for people who want to acquire Bitcoin without providing all their personal information to regulated, centralized entities. Definitely not good for buying in size until and unless it grows significantly as a platform. I imagine it will remain relatively niche though. If you don’t care about giving all your info away, then this of course will not be relevant.

      Fungible at the protocol level, absolutely. Fungible when human interpretation comes into play, provably not as evidenced by the different responses you've gotten to this comment.
