    Props for breaking down the intended purpose of the Linux file system!
    I've been using Debian/Ubuntu distro's for many years, while everything was spoton of what I've learned in Linux OS anatomy.

    Very nice explaining. Only a little noting: /usr stands for Unix System Resources, a legacy of the old Unix systems...

    Thanks for this video. As someone who has used windows my whole life. The most difficult thing about switching to linux is learning the file system, and where programs get installed ect.. Kinda tricky to learn coming from windows file system ha. I think im getting it tho.

    /proc directory is also part of the kernel virtual filesystem and not a real directory in the sense of physical data in your harddrive.

    I thought that /opt is used exclusivly to manual proprietory software installs while /usr/local/bin is the one used to put general manual installs, am i wrong?
