  • I finish the wheel hubs for surface grinder. Each hub had the back flange drilled and taped 18 holes for set screws to balance the wheel.

    Just out of interest, why did you drill and tap the hubs. When I did mine, as you saw in the pictures I sent you, I drilled the wheel nuts, does the same thing and less chance of you buggering up a hub should you have miss drilled or broke a tap off in a hole. Could only see a standard level for levelling the balancer and not the magic eye one that is usual. I used a standard eye type bubble, don't have to keep moving the standard level to check in both directions. Great outcome, Just need some work now to start putting the grinder to good use.       Hi Dave. The original plan was to make all the holes in the rear flange blind holes because it is thicker than the nuts. I could not tap the deep enough, the set screws were out to far. So plan B just drill though and tap them. I did buy a bullseye level and tried it, and rechecked will the starrett level and it was way off. It may not get used that often, but will be ready when I do need it. Thanks for watching. Cheers
