Guys! I could hug you right now! I am 62 years old and facing hip replacement surgery next month and waiting for my disability checks to start coming and my black tank got stuck. It is very painful for me to kneel down and deal with this, but, I had to. I was so upset to think I might have to spend money ( I don't have yet ) to get someone to get it unclogged. I would have spent time waiting for some kind of drain cleaner, you get the picture. I did not have any help, so I used my broom (bristles up) to hold up the hose . I was able to fill it up enough to close the grey tank, then jerk it around like you showed, then threw it to the ground. I soon heard the beautiful sound of liquids coming down and to verify it worked I saw other 'stuff' coming out and I knew it worked! I actually teared up. Thank you so much, sorry for the long post, but, it's people like you that should get a Nobel Peace Prize :) No tools, no money, just worked. THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Just brilliant! I had tried filling the hose with gray water and dropping it to try and pull the clog out with suction, but it never occurred to me to force that water into the black tank. Worked first time, on a clog that I have been dealing with for a week! Many thanks for making this video!!

Hahaha. Oh, I know exactly how you feel. That’s exactly how we were when we figured this out. It was late on a Sunday, we were leaving Monday morning. Everything was closed so we couldn’t go and buy any tools or fancy gadgets. So glad this worked for you 👍

Absolutely full tank (the gurgling type!) and only a slow, slow trickle coming out. Used this technique twice, pulled the plug and out with a rush it came!!

OMG! Simple physics. Believe this, it WORKS! I tried every old fashion way and advice…RV drain cleaner, soap, plumber snake and hot water. Nothing worked, this Did! Thank you, thank you.

You are a miracle worker! Thank you for posting this trick. Only one suggestion: make sure your connection to your rig is very tight. When I shook the hose filled with water I actually accidentally twisted the pipe. And as the water came after the plug un plugged the hose dropped to the ground. You can imagine what happened next 😮... Immediately closed the black tank. Fortunately the water that came out first was the fresh water we had just put in the Grey tank. Alls well that ends well, and this problem ended well.

I tried every trick in the book while camping. Nothing worked and we were only hooked up to water and electricity. I tried this trick while dumping sewage on the way home and it worked first try! Boiling water, chemicals, and plungers did nothing, but this really works

I could sincerely hug you right now. I'm a 70 year old woman alone. I called the RV repair man about my black tank reading full and clogging. I'm making a trip on Saturday from WA to NC, and the tanks need to be completely empty. They wanted to charge me from $900 to $1,500 depending on hours spent with a $200 charge just to show up. The sensors have always read full from the first time I emptied it. I empty every 3 days. THIS WORKED!!!!! You are a true gem. Thank you a million times over!!!! If you are ever in NC I'll take you to lunch. =)

Amazing. As a last minute Hail Mary prior to writing a huge check I thought I would try this. Bless you, thank you, and bless you again. I followed your simple instructions and it worked first time. This was after roadside service said they couldn’t help me because it needed a new knife valve and the tank was full. After a million failed phone calls for help I was ready to drop my newer 40 foot Class A at the junk yard. Thank you again.

I never comment on videos, or anything for that matter! However, in this case I have to comment! You are a genius! I just spent two days with a clogged black tank. I tried chemicals, hot water and every other method that I could find online without even causing a trickle to come out.
Then I found your video and thought, "are you kidding me?" Within five minutes of watching this video I was draining the black water tank with no issue at all! Thank you sir, you are a life saver. THIS REALLY WORKS!

My wife and I are on our fourth trip with our trailer, and had her first real black water tank issue. Doing this plus connecting a hose (and rinsing through) the backflush spigot completely emptied the tank. Thank you so much for making this video, it reduce my stress level significantly! 😊🙌

This is my first time commenting on UA-cam. This totally works. It might not work once or twice but keep trying with the hose full and it will shake loose whatever is clogging. We're newbies 2nd year and appreciate all the videos to help during RV life. God Bless!

Thank You Thank You. So I watched this last night, had to give it a try today. been fighting this clog for a couple days. Grey tank was empty so I filled it with hot water, drained some into the hose, chucked the hose up and down a couple times let it fall and BAM out came the black water. Thank you. 7 years of using Campa-Soft tissue paper and never a clog. Recently changed to Angel soft upon seeing a dissolving video comparison. WELL, ANGEL SOFT WILL CLOG, it happened to us after using just a couple of times. Campa-soft is a little more expensive but one bad clog you can't fix on your own and have to call someone will cost more than the difference. Going back to Campa-Soft. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE FIX. YOU'RE A LIFE SAVER.

I agree with many. I'm not a newbie but for the first time since I've owned my pull behind, I've been parked in one place for over a year. The stuff that's supposed to dissolve the solids isn't working well and I had a blocked tank. Went and got an extention hose, followed your instructions and the blockage ran out. About a year ago, I thought my gray water tank was clogged because not much was coming out. What I realized is that the tank wasn't filled up enough. Now I wait about 10 days before dumping the tank. Hope this helps new RV'ers.

So this is totally awesome. I’m out at Shute in Ohio. The Cardinal center had the pump guys come out hooked it up to pump would not work and watched your video. I got it unclogged having the guys come out now and pump it thank you.

Yup. We never tried this method but we spent Hella money on the stuff that supposedly breaks it down and so far only this orange/red stuff is the only thing that worked. But it took time. So I think ima try this method next time I empty it. 🤔

We also tried several methods to unclog the black tank, we were about to give up, then found this tip - and it worked for us as well!!! Thank you so much! I was thinking about the physics of this - you should name it "the plunger" method! It creates that suction just like a plunger.

Whenever I get a blocked black tank I just shut all the valves hook it up to the tow vehicle and drive around on some pretty rough roads. I do it for around 30 min or so then when I go to the dump station wala it usually empties right away.

I don’t put toilet paper in my black water tank. I fold it and put it in a separate trash bag. That stops clogging.
