- Sonic Mania Plus is out now! Check out the game’s new features, a first look at Mighty and Ray, and treat your ears to a special remix of “Time Trials” by Hyper Potions and Jun Senoue!
Sonic Mania Plus is available both as a physical copy and as DLC if you already own the game. The physical edition comes with special packaging, a reversible cover, and a 32 Page Art Book. It was the #1 request from our fans, so we worked really hard to make it something special for you all, and we hope you’ll love it!

This is the definitive Sonic the Hedgehog game for older fans. I remember seeing the original trailer and almost crying because of everything that I saw, I thought base Sonic Mania couldn't get any better, and then this was announced a year later. This games means everything to me as a Sonic fan. Take pride in this masterpiece, Sega.

Also, Chaotix was officially taken out of the main game continuity when Espio, Charmy and Vector reappeared in Sonic Heroes. I think Mania is technically an alternate timeline, so the events of Chaotix might still be canon there.

Yes, but Mighty is immune to spikes and projectiles while in ball form. While Knuckles may be able to break walls without rolling or be stronger, he can't deflect bullets or be immune to spikes while in ball form.

why should I when I not only like Advance 3 more than any of the games you just listed (and Adventure 1 even more than that) but 2 of this games are also pretty mediocre (namely 1 and CD) and a third one has lots of more than questionable design decisions (sonic 2).

+DeadTurret It looks like that may be the case. From what I can tell, Mighty in Studiopolis looks new and we never see Mirage Saloon at dusk in the original game, while it is dark when Ray flies through it
Man I havent seen Mighty and Ray in soo many years. I was losing hope that we'd ever see them again. Good to have them back I about cried watching this trailer and seeing them as playable characters. Thank you.

Mania changed so much for the franchise and the fan base. I have never felt this excited and proud to be a sonic fan since Sonic Generations. Man, does anyone remember what 2011 was like when that was announced? Good times... now we’re living it again. I hope to see more from the Mania team. I imagine if the physical releases sell well we may get an actual sequel. Cause if SEGA pays attention to anything, it’s Gamespot reviews (specifically), and retail sales. I also like how if you buy the retail version fans who already owned the digital version of mania are offered a newer version of the game and all the extra add on’s such as the book, the Genesis cover and the special case. Great job Mania team, you are making Sonic fans everywhere proud
