11:21 It's definitely because of low funds. Up until now Mika was living the luxury lifestyle of a Tea Party member. But ever since Eden treaty incident, she has to live like a regular student now. Which means she also doesn't have the budget from the tea party for her expenses anymore. She's only filling the position for representative of Pater faction in tea party for now until they choose a new member. 44:28 Yep. And this is the place we told her that we'll be by her side no matter when she was at the lowest point of her life, while still having that happy facade. Those words that she appreciated till the end and completely changed how she viewed us. So this is a really special place for her.
Hawk, your Mika basis is showing. Also, with that bit of Sensei visiting her before Roll Call made me think: Why would Sensei be in trouble? Mans has extra-judicial authority throughout Kivotos. The only group that can check his power would be the GCS. As long as he's not doing anything illegal, Sensei could probably get away with a lot. Even if he was caught, the fact that he's visiting a Student wouldn't be much of a problem. It's not like Mika is in jail, unlike the Fox Squad and Kaya.
Simple really. A man. inside a high school girl's bedroom, at night, under her blanket. It's a coin toss whether the roll call officer would identify him as Sensei and listen to him first, or open fire because a guy is hiding in a girl's bedroom.
Trinity in general takes gossips and rumors very seriously. Even if it is technically legal (which isn't, because the only stated rights of Schale are assignment of students and engaging in battle) the media will not be so kind on Sensei.
1:32 The original script says "I literally bowed at my phone" which will certainly be weird to other people. I don't know why they changed the term. Like, what did they think they would gain from it? 3:46 It was originally "~ instead of my own designated class." Seems that as the leader of Pater faction she used to take a special curriculum or whatever 6:20 Her house got burned down and most of her stuff got robbed 15:40 It's a lot shorter in Korean and, I assume, Japanese. Short sentences divided are usually for the sake of storytelling, to make the lines have more impact. I'm guessing the GL is only allowed to do the translation, not change the script of the game. 17:19 Yeah Trinity is the most politically complicated school of all. In fact it's the only school that shows that aspect. Hanako even called it "a pit full of venomous snakes," which is well over an insult and borderline curse in Christian context. 23:47 That's the whole point of this Momotalk. Mika only has Nagisa, Seia, and us. Sensei wants her to be less dependent on them. You know, make some new friends, learn to do her own things and whatnot. That's why they keep brushing her off almost too brashly. 29:00 The original script says "keep the noise down, both of you" implying that the inspector saw Sensei and turned a blind eye. A popular lore theory is that the whole dorm thing is actually Nagisa bending the rules for her friend. It's old, in the outskirts and hardly anyone lives there, so Mika will be less seen and less bullied. The inspector too is likely from Filius faction, with orders from Nagisa to go easy on Mika. She is really good at playing her games under the table. 39:44 It was something like "You bitches dare-" making it one of the few times anyone actually cusses in the game. Combined with that 'witch' Mika face, it was legit scary. 44:27 This is also where Sensei told Mika that they will be on her side when she needs it. Just like how Azusa said, you just have to keep trying even if everything's in vain. Mika's Momotalk is one of the controversial ones. Even to this day a lot of Senseis argue if it's the right thing to be so harsh on her. But I like it, since Sensei is her teacher, not a caretaker. As a grown-up they have the responsibility to guide students in the right direction. Playing along Mika's impulsive flirts is only going to spoil her in the long run.
It's a bit unfortunate that there's a lot of differences in the script. I guess that's not exactly new, but it is a bit disappointing. Thanks for including timestamps with those scripts, I do appreciate seeing these regardless of the game. I did have a feeling that this was the point of the Momotalk. This is only worsened because of her involvement in the story of eden treaty. It makes me a bit sad that this is her lifestyle, but it seems like this is part of consequences.
Mika "prank" to Sensei for some reason reminds me to that meme of "prank him John". If you plan do another of this momotalk videos you can do Ibuki and make everyone die of diabetes.
5:23 Okay, this was haunting me when I was making my game script (non native speaker here) So apparently both are correct. However, "all right" is more of the formal spelling used in writing, while "alright" is more for casual conversation and is not actually always considered correct by dictionaries. I still ended up replacing all instances of alright in my script to all right though.
Mika's RS is the best Momotalk in the game for me personally. It doesn't need to rely on some cheap flirtings or even try to sugarcoat her situation one bit but instead strikes us hard with the feels. Mika's RS is also the only Momotalk to ever have both 2 saddest songs in the game, Morose Dreamer & Moment, playing in it (I don't remember any RS even have one of them playing for even a split second tbh). It's a pity that the English translation really ruined the atmosphere of the story at multiple occasions, especially in Ep3 where they made Mika sound extremely selfish and didn't reflect on her mistake, while the JP version + voiceover literally showed that she was very afraid of making Sensei more mad & was very careful with her words all while not being able to hold the loneliness in. Also, Mika's Valentine story can be considered as the 5th ep of her RS where you can witness her clear development from the og 4 eps. You might want to check it out in case you hadn't.
@@dungnguyenphi8707 the sad part is that you have to have read Eden Treaty to get some of the context to this momotalk. Many might have been confused over things if they don't read.
@@Hawk2zer0 welp, I guess that's the whole point of Mika. She is only for those who have already known her through Vol 3 as she is clearly neither the cutest nor sexiest judging purely from her look. I'm glad that the devs had chosen this approach for her Momotalk, since it made her story so much more impactful & added depth to it. It's rare to see a RS that have all of its episodes connected like Mika's, giving it the vibe of a Main Story rather than just a RS, and the story itself really makes me feel like I'm strengthening my bond with Mika (as Relationship Story in the JP ver is called "Kizuna Story", which means "Story of bonding")
I noted something similar to that with Izuna. How she looks at you across both of her stories as well as her events. She's grown very different on how she looks at you.
Ironically, i think Mika would be more happy and suited to be in Gehenna Academy, why? 1. She's the type of "action first, regret it later" 2. She's quite the mischief 3. She's upfront about herself Also, ironically Trinity have severe bullying cases while i never found any case in Gehenna (edit: i forgot Haruka's bullying case). School for elegant ladies? Sorry, but I don't find any elegance in bullying. Heck, even Haruna displayed more elegance than some Trinity students.
I feel like Trinity can sometimes act like Gehenna as well....maybe even Red Winter as well (with all the power play between the clubs that we saw in Eden Treaty). Still, that's a good point.
@@aldyzero6676 Gehenna unfortunately does have bullying problem, though not at the scale of Trinity I assume. Aru saving Haruka from bullies was what makes her adore Aru so much.
The reason why Sensei seem to be distancing himself a bit from Mika in the beginning? Easy, she's not part of Gehenna's Prefect Team. He'll be all over it if it was Iori, lmao
Crunch time at work is over for me! So, let's make use of that productivity elsewhere!
