So I have some information from someone who has talked to Marshall, according to them they did improve the jacks and switches to be more reliable compared to the original units! This is great news if true.
I don't think it's as big a concern today as it was 30 years ago. More often than not, people are doing midi/looper/switcher setups - so things will stay more in place than not. Glad to hear they updated it with that in mind though!
I went on a Marshall factory tour a few weeks ago and was told “you can take pictures on your way around, apart from one section” I seemed to be the only person on the tour who’s jaw dropped when I saw a trolley full of these, that’s when the tour guide said, “this is the point where you can’t take pictures “ all I could think for the rest of the tour was there will be some disappointment for people with their original bluesbreakers advertised for £400+
Love pedal Amp 11 is blues breaker with boost. Absolutely brilliant for around $100 US. The new mxr duke of tone or the original analogman prince and king of tone are great bb options as well.
An I remember people throwing these away back in the day...really amazes me how one person can literally change the way people see things....think I still have the PCB trace I did years back in the original floating around....$200 is insane for what it is to be perfectly honest but we live in a boutique world where 300 different ts808s sell from $50 to $1000 and the only difference is paint on an enclosure...but then again what do fuzz faces go for now?....I do love the blues breaker tone though so I'm glad it's coming back out!...wish they weren't so bulky though..and part of why I made a "smaller replica PCB" so I could house it in a smaller enclosure...so cool to see it happening though now just need that ts10!!
@@dustinarnold79 Sweetwater. AFAIK it's still not on the site. My sales guy checked about a week ago and put me on a list. I'd call and ask them to do the same. Marshall told them there would be plenty for everyone and the price would be reasonable. Good luck.
The Blammo Bluesblaster is an excellent option and it even has a gain boost to get the sister Marshall "Shredmaster" sound. I also recently built a Bluesbreaker clone kit from Musikding sounds killer, but a bit noisy in higher settings
It’s hysterical after all this time I’m wanting one for nostalgia. I had to when they first came out bought them Sam ash music for $149 each. And that was 1992 or whatever… I sure would be nice to buy one again at the same price… That’s all I’m saying
Justin - I did laugh at the 'expert' way you threw-in James May & Jeremy Clarkson (Top Gear) clips BTW : I met Jim Marshall (years ago), FOUR times (each year( at our local town-hall guitar show. Each year I'd get Jim to sign a 'Flyposter' of Jimi Hendrix using a Marshall stack - (stylised in Gold) I even bought some Marshall Amp Coffee Mugs & Mouse Mat from their trade stand. I still have one of those signed-posters, signed directly from Jim to my Son (for his B.D) Alas, our 29-year marriage broke-up, so I've still yet to give it to him (he'll get it, eventually !) Lastly, I'm NOT a collector, but I sold my original MXR Distortion Plus (Mustard Yellow) about 10-yrs ago Wasn't aware at the time that there WAS a 'vintage collector' market for pedals Glad I saw your review & comments here, as, that cheap 'switchgear' would really put me off buying it.
Will be interesting to see what they finally retail at. Marshall are defiantly cashing in on the ‘Mayer’ market that’s for sure. It will cost them vertically nothing to produce the item (simple circuit with a few components) no R+D, it was done in the 90’s.
Wow, very good timing! I just got into mayers gear the past few months and trying to find something for the blues breaker sound has been the big consideration. Now if only Ibanez would reissue the TS10
@@slinkytones1736 From the demos I saw it seemed like it was pretty off from the sound of an actual TS10. I know that those are old pedals and there is a lot of variance with how one unit sounds from another, but from the comparisons I saw I didn't like it
There's really nothing particularly special about the TS10 circuit compared to most, if not all versions of the Tubescreamer ever released. In fact, as an owner of one, I can say it is by far the poorest quality TS, at least in terms of parts, Ibanez ever released. The input/output jacks are basically glued to the circuit board. A current TS9 sounds basically identical, and is built like a tank. The only exceptional TS Ibanez ever released (in my opinion) is the handwired version, as it genuinely has a "different", and arguably improved sound. Just my 2 cents.
@@0goldman That's why I ended up getting a Maxon OD-9 because the general tip seemed to be "just buy a tube screamer". I've heard about the poor build quality.
Hey Jon, likewise! I love your stuff, you got an amazing collection! I know ZZsounds had a very brief preorder up but I was never able to actually get one. I believe near the end of this upcoming week we should hear a more official announcement on it.
@@JustinJeske thanks a bunch for the info, I’ll wait to see if it pops up around some sites soon. Thanks again and can’t wait to hear a demo of it from you soon enough. Talk soon

I had a blues crab and it sounds way different from my friend's v1 BB, I guess it's based on V2, and it's not that pleasant to my ears, very thin and trebly
Meh. Get a JHS Morning Glory and be done with it. It can get the Bluesbreaker V1 sound, but has more volume and gain on tap if you need it. Plus, it's actually built well. Shelling out 200 bucks for a Bluesbreaker reissue with shoddy jacks when there are better pedals on the market is kinda dumb imo. It's not going to make you sound any more like John Mayer than any other Bluesbreaker clone, especially not when it's broken.
The reissues are NOT 1.1 circuits. They will requires two resistor changes, as it ships it's a 1.2. The OP of those photos discusses this in the comments on Facebook.
According to both the Tone Geek and Suitcase Pedals, it’s a 1.1. Luca was asking on Instagram for help with identifying the circuit and the two resistors in question are the proper ones. Send me the link to the Facebook thread please! Edit: I just triple confirmed with Ryan, it’s for sure a 1.1.
Wow... The original Bluesbreaker is a good pedal. But I do not understand all this "hype". I do respect all of your expectations, but I better keep trying to learn how to bend properly. A guitar and a pedal will only sound as good as you play it.
All this really has VERY little to do with anything... the tone is in the hands !!! You could plug into John's or anybody else's rig & guess what ?? Yep, you're going to sound like YOU... good, bad, or indifferent. PERIOD. Put it to bed.

I waited 2 years for a Snouse, 4 years for a KoT, and 30 years for this
This is awesome news! Hope it’s not some sort of limited run!
I have so many clones and high end overdrives. I just got this and the Guv reissue, they are the very best sounding pedals I’ve ever used.

Thanks for the heads-up. Pre-ordered mine.

It doesn't exist on UA-cam! I just have it saved in with all of my other JM vids

Blackbox has over a 2 year wait. That isn’t a remotely viable option
