You could say that the bluesbreaker has made a “slight return.” Lol.

@@straightmanforever69 it’s a reference to the Hendrix song Voodoo Child. Mayer, like most of us, is a big Hendrix fan.

The reissued Bluesbreaker pedal is warmer and tighter bottom end than my old original pedal... at least 25 years old, the bottom end has got loose and flubby which I ascribe to old worn caps in the power supply/bias. The reissue is perfect & tight, low notes saturate the same has high notes. backing off guitar volume chording comes through evenly crunched to settings. This shows how much my old pedal deserves to be re-capped so it'll work as well.

The BB just works so well with S-style guitars. Granted, it's far more versatile than that, but position 2(or 4) on a Stratocaster with a BB pedal is magic.

      true that!

@@tmoatthe89 While I don't agree that they are 100% transparent, they add a VERY subtle amount of midrange and a very subtle amount of compression to where it does not completely change the character of your tone or amplifier the way a TS or Klon does. BB and Blues Driver circuits are dynamic and unintrusive enough to be left on at all times.

WHAT!!! Woooow this is very good news!! OMG...!!!! Although it's hard to believe, I hope he'll use it again in his own shows... best tone ever!! Thanks for the video!! 🙌

Dude, Continuum is JM's best work. Let's just be honest with everyone here on that fact. haha All we need now is a reissue TS-10 and Centaur and all this mess of crazy prices will be behind us. Re: JM wanting us all to have to not pay the JM tax on pedals he uses. I actually think it's opposite. He uses the unobtanium tools to make it harder for the average guitar player to replicate his sound. He's even said in an interview wouldn't it be great to just have that one guitar color that nobody else has. Ala the matte black silver sky he used on the recent Sob Rock tour. Dude def doesn't want us to have his tone but I'm sure he liked seeing everyone try.

Thing is, if you can play well, there are pedals that replicate every one of these “unobtanium” pedals.

Highly recommend listening to last night’s second set opener. Not sure if he uses the pedal or not but it RIPS

yes, the original and the reissue do look absolutely identical. Based on a very high resolution pic from his pedal board and some wear could perhaps suggest which version is he using. Otherwise no chance….

So is the blues breaker a replacement for the klon or are they both used together?
