Wendi Adelson, who has been named by the State of Florida as a co-conspirator in the murder of her ex-husband, FSU law professor Dan Markel, was deposed on 7/2/2019 in Katherine Magbanua's criminal case. At this deposition in Miami, Katherine "Katie" Magbanua's lawyers Tara Kawass and Christopher DeCoste questioned Wendi Adelson under oath in preparation for Magbanua's fall 2019 trial. One of the jurors later said during an interview with @MentourLawyer that the jurors thought Wendi Adelson was involved in Dan Markel's murder, & some wondered why Wendi Adelson wasn't on trial. After a hung jury in 2019, Magbanua was retried and convicted of first-degree murder, conspiracy and solicitation in April 2022. Magbanua, Sigfredo Garcia (the shooter & the father of Magbanua's children), and Wendi Adelson's brother Charlie Adelson (who had dated Katherine Magbanua) are all serving life sentences for their roles in Markel's murder for hire.
This livestream originally took place on 9/6/2022, with Susan of @truelifestyles reading the lines of Kawass, Joel Waldman of @SurvivingTheSurvivor reading the lines of Adelson's attorney John Lauro and DeCoste, and Judy the UA-cam Lawyer reading the lines of Wendi Adelson. This is different from Wendi Adelson's 2013 deposition in her family court case, which was reenacted on @MentourLawyer , titled "The Hitman Option."

When a person asserts to almost every question , it seems like they are usually guilty and or hiding a great deal. Asserting your 5th amendment is supposed to protect a person from forced self incrimination right? It seems very telling in Wendi’s case.

Thanks- I found it interesting because Wendi claimed in court to have been "nothing but helpful." Days after Dan Markel was killed, her then-lawyer was quoted in a news article saying that Wendi was cooperating with authorities. This deposition goes against Wendi's "poor me-the helpful victim" narrative.
The more I learn, the more horrible this family is. We tend to assume most people are like us, and most of us can imagine a bitter divorce situation wherein you'd hate your ex. But this is so different.
Wendi, Donna, Charlie, and very likely Harvey, chose to murder the boys' deeply lovely, committed, and of course, intelligent father. That is unconscionable.
Further, Wendi tried to frame Jeffrey Lacasse. Morally, this is almost as bad as what they did to Dan. She manipulated Jeff into loving her, and tried to frame him. Wendi, this was remarkably disgusting; morally monstrous behavior. I hope Jeff can trust, finds someone as decent and intelligent as he is, and can love again. What you did could ruin a person. Shame on you. There is no defense of this. Grotesque. I suspect many women superior to you in every way will see Jeff and be quite interested in him.
We pity you Wendi. I pity you. You worked hard in school, and did well. You had so much opportunity... to do whatever you wanted to do in your life. Total freedom. Every privilege. More than almost all of us with advance degrees. And yet, you couldn't find satisfaction, without knocking others down. Without falsely thrusting you and your family above others. Dan gave you two beautiful boys, and loved you, as much as was possible. You murdered him. You took your boys' loving father away.
We see you. We see your ugly family dynamics. We see the pathology of your relationships generally. Your narcissism. How you use people. It's just a matter of time. You must be terrified. It is coming. You will be arrested. You will be convicted.
Wendi, the people you care about now see you as you are. I suspect it takes time, that your duplicity isn't noticed immediately. The world knows now. No good man will ever want you again. Predators will be interested. They might even pursue you. You're easy. LIke them. But decent people will be protected, because of this case. Everyone will see you as you are from the beginning, a narcissistic manipulator, and murderer, petty, shallow, boring, and hateful. A person willing to destroy her own children, to appease her vindictive heart. In life, we sometimes don't like people, but we almost always avoid people pretending to be what they aren't. That, we all realize, is a toxic person, who has nothing to offer us. That is Wendi Adelson.
You belong in a cage. Your children will be raised by others. Let's hope therapy can repair the damage you've done.
