I love the fact that you include all your mistakes. Its different than a lot of other guitar content creators and it makes the entire idea of playing these complicated songs more feasible
Total respect to those who upload with their flubs included. No one is gunna sound studio quality in one continuous take right? But I'm just a drummer, what do I know... Edit: thanks for putting me onto Blotted Science. Holy fuck
Yeah, as a drummer that band is pretty mental! The first album uses the drummer from Behold! The Arctopus! and the second one is Hannes Grossmann (second drummer for Obscura)
14:22 - this piece was originally written by Nobuo Uematsu and Yasunori Mitsuda for Chrono Trigger (1995, SNES) final boss battle with Lavos, but later on it was scrapped due to it's harsh nature.
I really appreciate how you don't JUST watch these, you'll play along and even keep in the mistakes and make a joke about it. Everything about these is classy af.
Bleed The Future is so good, despite it being released at the tail end of last year, three of the tracks made it into my most played for the whole year on Apple Music.
Same. Ever since Golden Mouth dropped, that end chuggy chuggy section is so addicting after the tornado of notes that it made its way to my top 2021 songs on spotify as well.
Drain Of Incarnation is probably my favourite song on the album because it has the best guitar solos. I'm a guitar solo guy. I love my metal to be awash with guitar solos.
Super inspiring. I got my first sheethappens publishing book last year... sitting collecting dust. Its the Conquering Dystopia album.... now just to get a guitar... bleuhh. People are amazing.
My brain is pooping. I just made it to the part where you showed Tobi’s “gravity picking” technique. I used to do that but with chords on an Ovation acoustic I had in high school(1997) I haven’t thought about that since. I was just goofing off with way I picked and I thought it was interesting but never did anything with it since! 😍
so cool to see you react to all of the covers I've watched so many times lol great vid as always and loving the new ink! also gotta say I love all the odd time signature riffs yall write
I love these videos, always so much fun. Archspire is my favourite goofy band of all time. Also,I feel like playing Castlevania with the 8bit Drone Corpse Aviator in the background for some reason
Wow.. So I accidentally "invented" gravity picking myself back in 2001 when I was 13 and trying to learn to play the fast tapping solo to "One" by Metallica. I had no idea what tapping was and that was the closest I could get to the right sound by ear. Once I learned to tap, I abandoned the technique and assumed it would always just be a part of my awful self-taught guitarist history. Hearing this technique purposefully used and done so well is a nostalgia blast I can't describe. Keep the "gravity picking" alive dudes! Cheers
I got into Archspire because I heard the 8-bit version on a gaming video and it got me back into tech death, lol. (Shoutout to Anklegator and that crazy homemade controller that is somehow tournament legal, lol.)
I can't really play anything from the new album but I bought the tabs from sheet happens anyway. Currently trying to learn the intro to drain of incarnation, the hybrid picking I learned from the interlude in the mimic well really helped. I think you and tobi should get together for one of these videos, would love to hear his input
Ron Jarzombek is an incredible player of some crazy songs! So technical but fluid and damnibly fast!! Spastic Ink is another of his projects I love! If you never heard of him I suggest you check him out and he does some teaching vids too!
I think I first heard gravity picking from Steve Vai - oddly enough it was in a video from like 1998 where he was jamming with Korn. Glad you guys are finally developing it into a full blown technique, it sounds rad. Oh also, it sounds really weird if you do it only a single fret about where your left hand is.
Damn! I used to do that with my pick all the time, back in my guitar infancy. I forgot about it because I never thought I could make anything useful if it, musically. I'm gonna have to try using it now
when you said "let's get romantic together ryu" at 8:43 I honestly thought you were gonna do a crotch camera angle as well, kinda sad that didn't happen lol
do you think you could ever get eddie pickard from IA on 4 levels, I think it'd be so cool to get inside his head when it comes to guitar and song writing
@@defaceddeath honestly i prefer it from an audio perspective lighter, sharper the newer albums got too bottom heavy for my taste, great music nonetheless
What about a grim reaper Zombie eating the flesh off of a shark or Just a shark that's a grim reaper Or how about a grizzly bear holding a chainsaw frog in a blender tattoo??
what we learned today: - dean wants to make out with other bald men - dean gets romantic with other guitarists over the internet - toby solo - fives are awesome
"Dean from Archspire learns Archspire songs by watching Archspire covers"
So glad you liked the 8-bit cover! Was a ton of fun to put together. Thanks for putting out awesome music \m/
Metal sounds so good as 8 bit love your cover 🤘🤘🤘
That cover is awesome. I like the tone choices too.
That was some prime Castlevania music
@@rocknmetalultima the second half sounds like it could be bowsers castle music
Awesome cover savory!
Gonna have to respectfully disagree sir, my hat choice is impeccable
your playing looks so effortless, really pleasing to watch
@@paskudne much appreciated my friend!
My boy slippers!!!!! I knew you would make it in his videos!

RIIIIGHT
Thank you for watching my video! Working on finishing the rest of your guys' album

Yeah, as a drummer that band is pretty mental! The first album uses the drummer from Behold! The Arctopus! and the second one is Hannes Grossmann (second drummer for Obscura)
These ones are so fun. I love the delight on your face when you watch other people play your music. Must be a fulfilling feeling.
That gravity picking is so badass. Tobi is God, Dean is the Holy Jebus.
And today's his birthday! Happy Birthday, Dean!
Tobi is deans dad? Does dean know?
8-bit Drone Corpse Aviator sounds like Castlevania at parts
14:22 - this piece was originally written by Nobuo Uematsu and Yasunori Mitsuda for Chrono Trigger (1995, SNES) final boss battle with Lavos, but later on it was scrapped due to it's harsh nature.
I'm here to say im glad you put the goofy pinch in drone corpse. That is all.
Thank-you for Checking out our AUM cover 🙏❤️..... Now i can't ever forget 'Ninja Turtle Time' lol
I really appreciate how you don't JUST watch these, you'll play along and even keep in the mistakes and make a joke about it. Everything about these is classy af.
"We almost didn't use that pinch harmonic"

Bleed The Future is so good, despite it being released at the tail end of last year, three of the tracks made it into my most played for the whole year on Apple Music.
Yeah it's the greatest album I've ever heard, the best of all time for me.
Same. Ever since Golden Mouth dropped, that end chuggy chuggy section is so addicting after the tornado of notes that it made its way to my top 2021 songs on spotify as well.
The 8 bit cover was so great. The whole interlude could be slapped into a Castlevania game and fit perfectly
James (gentleman enjoyer of hats) had a really good feel for that solo. So clean.
Much appreciated 🙏

BLOTTED SCIENCE IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES! Not enough people talk about Ron Jarzombek imo
Ah man I LOVE Ron Jarzombek & Blotted Science :)
1:07 clearly inspired in Mozart's Requiem Lacrimosa :)

ah i’m glad. i saw the 8bit one a few days ago and wondered what you guys would think about it
Nice Revocation shirt!!
10-12 hours? Sir that's learning your parts PER section. Really though your music is forcing me to be a better musician and I appreciate it.
Yay! Gravity picking near the end! It 's pretty much the only thing you guys do that i can sort of do!
I love these videos, always so much fun. Archspire is my favourite goofy band of all time.

Yo These people sweep like a janitor nice and clean sparkling and shining
Showing off the guns I see. Great editing as always
Showing off the new ink dude
Cananda in the background?? Canada misspelled perhaps?
Huh?
@@DeanLamb The orange/red word on the wall behind your chair 😂
It better not be spelled wrong, I paid a lot of money for that thing! I'll check later today, thanks for letting me know!
When you confirmed the “Lacrymosa” bit I shouted “I FUCKING KNEW IT” love the content lol
Woo, Blotted Science! That's a demented album in the best possible way.
April Winter Park FL 🙌🏻
Thank You Dean!❤
Ps: yeah we added stuff
I Really love this "Dean Lamb" guy, really funny and kinda good at guitar. He should start a band

"I made sure to steal that. He's dead." 🤣🤣🤣
Dang, now I gotta go listen to Blotted Science again, you just bring back a lot of memories.
Love these.
Way cool I enjoyed that a lot.
New tattoo looks great
I use the Gravity picking technique in a song I am going to release soon. No joke, such a solid technique to learn
I sweep reverie on the onyx as well instead of hybrid picking. I just gotta practice that hybrid picking
Love these videos. Understand close to nothing about guitar playing but I've watched quite a lot of it and all of this looks super impressive.
Ron Jarzombek is an incredible player of some crazy songs! So technical but fluid and damnibly fast!! Spastic Ink is another of his projects I love! If you never heard of him I suggest you check him out and he does some teaching vids too!
I personally love the long pitch harmonic on DCA. I feel like it wouldnt be the same without it
We need another Blotted Science album. Ron Jarzombek is a fucking genius
Revocation T-Shirt hell yeah \m/
The whole album in 8-bit, please.
The slow part of the the 8 bit cover sounds like it belongs in castlevenia!
Ayo! Gravity pick sounds like that funny tremolo-thing.
I never realized you straight...Lacrymosa'd...? in Reveries , thats pretty cool, its a good piece.
is the part at 3:55 also Mozart?
Dean been liftin
shout out to phuzzy slippers for playing a wg587
Got it for 100 bucks but it will always be one of my favorites
3:34 you guys have an "easiest song"?!
8-bit pinch harmonics are the sneaky fart that just wont be contained
I think I first heard gravity picking from Steve Vai - oddly enough it was in a video from like 1998 where he was jamming with Korn. Glad you guys are finally developing it into a full blown technique, it sounds rad.
Oh also, it sounds really weird if you do it only a single fret about where your left hand is.
The 8-bit snare tone is about the same as the album, tbh
Nice Blotted Science shout out
If the drums were different I just realized how much 8-bit Archspire reminds me of Master Boot Record
Love these man
The Diesel Pit? Off main and second?
The pinch harmaronics on the 8bit sounds like high pitch farts
Crotch-heavy cameras ftw, I guess

1:06 Am I crazy or is that clean intro riff quoting the Lacrimosa from Mozart's Requiem?
Yes, Dean does mention it
@@Sharvictus Missed that, my bad. Thank you :)

aw no links! that 8bit was wonderful.

Can someone explain the gravity picking thing I don't quite get it
Oh my god he has the DankPods audio test jazz tune in the background, it haunts me
I knew Matt was gonna gonna make it in this video. That guy is sick he covered you whole album lol.
do you think you could ever get eddie pickard from IA on 4 levels, I think it'd be so cool to get inside his head when it comes to guitar and song writing
BLOTTED SCIENCE IS THE SHITTTTT!! And yes, I love 5s as well! Have you listened to Spastic Ink yet?? Same brothers! 🤘🦾🤘
im fucken dead the gravity blAST D00D
10-12 hours to learn a song? it took much more time than that just to cover a few of my favourite parts from the album :D
Will we ever get the very first album remastered?
why?
@@illdeletethismusic why not? ASA still kicks ass and if it had a modern archspire sound it would be even better

As a bass player, It would be a goal for me to see Dean reacting to one of my Archspire cover (even just to say hi)! I really love these videos! ❤️
Where can i get an instrumental version of your album?
Almost as good as I am when I'm driving to work 😎
clicked immediately love you dean
3:47 lmao
Something about the forst cover, he covered every Archspire song within the first mo the they came out
which song of yalls has the parts from lacrimosa
Reverie on the Onyx
Getting a new tattoo in GreenBay soon. Any suggestions?
