Hi guys, hope everyone is enjoying the uploads of Star Stories! (or if you're getting annoyed from all the videos I'm sorry lol). I figured some people would want these 3 songs separated as well, but I thought (at least for the album's sake) they worked the best together. Thanks for listening.

The storybook was actually the more interesting story in super Mario galaxy... It was pretty sad at some parts... Great job on this!
2:56 to 3:24 oh my god that part is incredible.
You get the sadness from the original theme and spatial ambience from the remix.
It depicts loneliness in space to a whole new level... just gorgeous.
I'd love a loop of that single part, perfect to listen to on a starry night. Good job :)

It sounds like Rosalina. Lumas have a higher pitch of voice and it sounds more of a noise. Plus, it sounded like a wail. Having a mother gone in your life, whether you grew up not having one or not, is absolutely painful to the heart.

Reminds me a of a bedtime story my grandfather told me:
Every hundred years, a comet appears in the skies above the Mushroom Kingdom. That comet was so large one year, it filled the skies and sent countless shooting stars raining down. The toads brought the shooting stars to the castle, where they became a great power star. It should have been a very happy time for the citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom. That was the night of the Star Festival, held once every hundred years to celebrate the comet.

My favorite out of all of the "Star Stories" album
Best song from the best game in the franchise. The series has had a lot of good games, and some even do certain things better than Galaxy, but despite that, Galaxy has always just sort of stuck out for me. It really doesn't have much more story than your average Mario game, but it feels like it does. There's a feeling of depth to this one that you won't find in the other games in the series, from how some of the music conveys this sort of lonely sadness in contrast to your usual Mario themes that are purely upbeat and happy, to the general atmosphere the game's artstyle and environment design provides you with, to the most important part, Rosalina's backstory.
In reality, Rosalina's backstory is absolutely nothing special or unique - there's hundreds of stories just like it in video games. But what makes this one have the meaning that it does lies in the fact that you really don't expect it. It's not like the series to give a legitimate backstory to its characters, but this one did. More unexpected than even that, instead of going for some outlandish and silly story more befitting to the series, or even an unnecessarily dramatic story, we get a simple, yet effective story that delves into very relatable subjects like the loss of a parent, missing your home, being alone, etc. The best way I can describe it is that it's very... human. Which works so well because, again, *you don't expect this* . If you play an RPG or any other sort of game like that, you kind of expect things like this, so it doesn't really get the same reaction out of the player because they already know it's going to happen. This game gets you while your guard is down, and that's what makes it great.
Personally, I'm not an emotional person. In fact, (not trying to sound "edgy" here, so my apologies if it comes off that way, it's not how I mean it) most of the time, I feel absolutely nothing. It's been that way since I was very little. I don't typically laugh, or cry, or get mad, or anything of the sort. Yet, despite that, this story and this song manage to get an emotional reaction out of me, and I treasure it for that.
Anyway, apologies to anyone who may have been annoyed by the length of this comment, I just felt the need to share my thoughts here.
Mainstream Mario games typically lack story in the broadest sense. Bowser kidnaps Peach, then there’s some gameplay gimmick or new power-up that you use to progress the levels and save Peach, but all in all, it’s the same story, rinse and repeat. Even the spin-off games, bar Paper Mario, Luigi’s Mansion and such, lack story.
I think what makes Galaxy stick out more than most games in the series is how unexpectedly sad and deep Rosa’s story is. The Mario series has always been known as this colorful, happy place. So to have a character so solitary, so solemn, *who’s mother is dead and buried* , it was unexpected for seasoned fans who were used to the typical formula. Things that are new, unique and jarring tend to stick out more to viewers.
Yes... SMG is probably one of, if not the best 3D Mario game...
Let us not forget Super Paper Mario, also breaking Mario norms! Peach didn't need saving, Bowser was good, Luigi was bad, people legit died, Count Bleck had story! It was the best!
@@princesscadance197 I agree with your opinion of the Mario Formula, however Paper Mario 4, 5, and to an extent 6 also follow it. However Super Paper Mario broke every rule and is the greatest game of all time.
I'm probably going to replay SMG soon. Last time I was too young to really get Rosalina's (or YOUR) backstory...
Rosalina is my favourite Mario Princess cuz she doesn't always need saving, has a good backstory, and basically has the best powers... So yeah, Rosalina is also one of my go to characters for Super Mario Party or Mariokart 8!

Seriously, I love this mashup of songs. I listen to this song in a playlist for when I go to bed. It also brings back memories for when I played this game a long time ago. I really need to play this game again. Great job! ❤️

And HOW did I just find this masterpiece? I know I'm super late to the party, but this is actually just incredible. I'm more of a rock/metal guy myself (yes I listen to your other remixes), but I think I'm starting to like jazz and piano a lot more. Thank you so much for this dude, really brings back the memories of when I stood in front of the TV in the living room, swinging my Wii remote around wildly like Mario Galaxy was a hack and slash game.

Ik this was made 2 yrs ago but i just wanna share my story when i hear this song(at 1:11 ) when i was around 13 or 12 i had and still do, have trouble letting go of my childhood and on top of that im really unhappy with my life, due to getting bullied everytime and getting physically abused in school and stuff like that, and when i came back home i just cried at night.
Heres a tip from me, try to ignore it but if you are getting physically abused do something about it.
