      @Internet Guy i have a 2010 si bought new and have 52k kms on it. No major problems so far except for a evap check engine light while my wifes 2014 honda accord had a starter problem at 45k. I used to like honda but I think they are banking on their name instead on building quality cars like they did in the past. Not planning of getting rid of my si considering all the new tech that they are putting in new cars is only asking for major headaches on the long run

      @Erowens98 7 років тому +3

      This is not difficult. Most wood work is not difficult. But as with everything, you have to learn how to do it first. This is something most people could build after a couple weeks of practice with the tools.

    • @iriestorm1508
      @iriestorm1508 7 років тому +3

      Nah, he meant ricer, it's a term used in the car world to define those that do cosmetic mods and think it makes their car faster, or who try to act like they know everything but in fact don't know shit. It stands for race inspired cosmetic enhancement, and most of the time it's a Honda.

  • @pegasusted2504
    @pegasusted2504 7 років тому +9

    Very nice work but why, when you have put so much effort in to the desk, did you mount the gpu upside down instead of showing off the "nice" side of it?

    • @YetAnotherTechChannel
      @YetAnotherTechChannel  7 років тому +22

      1. It's an OEM Zotac GTX1060 so it has no 'pretty' side.
      2. This way GPU fan has better access to outside air.
      3. It's not that the desk has window (never!) so I'm not bothered at all...
      4. That black PCB is kinda sexy.

    • @pegasusted2504
      @pegasusted2504 7 років тому +1

      Have you thought of mounting them at a slight angle so the rear edge of each item is maybe an inch of the horizontal so as to provide a bit of a better viewing angle if you also put a see through top on it, I think that would look kinda cool... oh yeah btw damn those socks are brilliant

    hello ! trying my luck here. great build. I took your design as model. I made the drawer. I made the desk. but could only find a cable riser with 90° angle so the highest element in the drawer is the riser itself because it's making an arc ! Where did you find a straight cable riser ? I'm looking for a 4.0 one...

      Hi :)
      I believe it's called a pop-rivet gun - but this one can work with threaded inserts.

    I know I am late to the party but if possible, I have a question: How did you connect the mouse/keyboard (et al )? Are you running them inside the drawer? Or is back panel of the motherboard flush with the side or back of the drawer?

    This is definitely one fancy look of PC but I can tell you, I did that way back in 2000 when I stuffed my AMD Athlon 700 into my desk drawer, and here is my advise. You are not going to open your drawer every day or probably not even to open it until your PC is shut down because of power outage. So you really don't need all those fancy plates to station parts, the key to success in desk drawer pc is good airflow to control temperature only because most of the time desk is wood and it's not good conductor for temperature control.

    Nice desktop and good design! But for me there are not enough place for sound card! Integrated sound is not so good like discrete sound especially when you have good acoustic! Can you share me your drawings?

    can you give an update with dust management details, noise levels, and temps under load now that you have had it for a while and know the drawbacks. maybe tips on how to improve this design. i am planning on building something similar but have questions regarding those i listed before.

    in this video: a router is a CNC machine. his arms are also axis rails with touch sensitive limit switches, and the wrists elbows and shoulders some kind of magnificent perfectionists stepper motors, while his eyes can scan in gcode. very designer bullshit

    Overall, it's been great, but I do not like the legs. It blurs the picture. Not that nothing, but on the rails will it not become stable enough? True, there is no hard disk and such thing, but still. You have to put something to take the vibrations and not to allow it to open by accident. That is, to have something like a locking mechanism.

    "for adults". sorry but the lack of high contrast colors, transparent surfaces and dank RGB do not fullfil my inner manchild.
