That was a nice trip. I’m 67 and replaced my motorcycle recently with a Jeep Willys Sport that accommodates the Deep Sleep System and a Goose Gear Tailgate Table for cooking. My wife & I went with the flip back canvas top and the old school manual transmission. Not a motorcycle but it has a very close vibe; and buttoned up solves being buffeted by wind. The big thing though is essentially we are driving in a “Tear Drop” so when it comes time to camp we’re already set up. We live in NM but have a daughter now in Seattle so we’re always looking for pleasant trips up to see her or on the way home. Thanks for sharing this itinerary. P.S. We also added the Long Range America gas tank to the Jeep thus solving the constant need to be worried about gas. The stock tank is 21 gallons and the LRA tank is 17. So once the main tank goes empty we start looking for gas but at a very relaxed pace verses having to “worry” going forward or turn around like you needed to do.
The part of the adventure where you fueled up at the filling station causes me to humbly offer this advice: never, ever pump fuel into your motorcycle tank while seated on the motorcycle. One of my riding buddies was sitting on his bike while fueling and somehow found an electrical spark, maybe from a loose battery connection or frayed cable. A bad fire resulted and he required skin grafts all up and down his legs and in other areas of his body. That was 50 years ago, and to this day, I never top off my tank while seated on the bike! I really appreciate your fine UA-cam videos. Thank you!!
Enjoyed the video, I’m 64 and plan to work a few more years. When I hang it up, the Goldwing and I are going to do some serious touring. Look forward to your next adventure.
So sorry that you had a bad experience. I take a classic motorcycle in my T5 VW to the Costa Blanca mountains in Spain each year. This year I had a puncture in the "van" on the Autopista. Within minutes of pulling in a motorway vehicle turned up with safety lights. The guy helped me to put on the spare but wasn't happy with the condition. He escorted us slowly to a tyre service station and disappeared without trace before we could thank him. Although we had arrived without warning the guys fixed us up and had us on our way quickly, refused a tip and the whole thing cost us 70 EU ... nothing. The Spanish are lovely.
Beautiful video. Loved the country, loved the music. Route selection was genius. Loved the roads. I usually take the PCH to leeward whenever I can though . Liked that you even added a few bars of motor music, for those of us who love the bikes as much as the traveling. I'm also retired, 63 YO, and spend as much time doing exactly what you are doing as I can. I am in the SF bay area. Oregon would be a bit of a stretch for me, but I would love to get that far some day. Thanks. I'd be grateful for more
Hello from the mountains of Northern Thailand. Really enjoyed your video. Nice to see that wonderful part of America that I also have spent time in. It’s a lot like the area that I have retired to here in Thailand. Looking forward to your next adventure !
I too am a Sr. (How’d that happen?.) Now in SoCal, but from the NW & having ridden the OR BDR, I really enjoy your vids. Leaving Wednesday to ride the 3 Flags MX to Canada event for the 4 th time. The first 647 mile day ought to get things off to a great start. Ride safe.
Have you taken the gravel road from Agness north to Myrtle Point? You would have missed the cost but also the wind. Pretty inland route. Looking forward to more rides in your area.
Hello Mr Senior i also am a senior rider living in Calif. I really enjoy your videos and thank you for sharing. If i had to critique anything it would be to slow your video movements down. When moving your helmet mounted camera move your head slower it will make your videos smoother and not so busy looking. Otherwise keep up the good work.
That's a bummer had to back track for gas what is the deal with the clerks coming out to the pumps i noticed both stations you got gas at here in Ohio we either pay at the pump or we have to walk in to see the clerk and pay cash That is a absolutely beautiful ride my friend
called Bear Camp . been there; rode that. oops, you show the name later on. Have you tried 38 yet? maybe too much blacktop for you? You're riding my stomping grounds man!!!
No gas in Powers, Got it! Do you ride with a Spot or inreach GPS tracker? If I'm going anywhere besides just a quick day ride I always have mine, especially solo. Enjoying your "senior moments" so far.

Yes I can. I am 6 feet tall, but I lowered the T7 a bit using Soupy's lowering links.
