Wow, Jesus is so compassionate, so powerful, so merciful! The more I see of Him the more I love Him! ❤️ if anyone feels led, please pray for me. I have sinned and strayed a bit in my walk and lifestyle recently. Over a month ago, I became ill, or rather plagued with unpleasant symptoms, and doctors can't seem to help or find the cause. I'm so sorry that I ever strayed from my precious Savior 😢 I know He can give me healing and peace , and I'm giving Him all of heart this time, I want to rause my children to know and love Jesus 🙏 I appreciate any prayers for deliverance and healing. I believe and know He is able!!!🙌
Thank you so much!! Yes, I talk to Him and plead with Him to help me every day, all day. He always helps when I feel I'm at my breaking point, when anxiety and pain are just too much 😢 ❤🙏
There were so many God shots in today’s reading but this one stuck out to me: “But Jesus didn’t trust them, because he knew all about people. No one needed to tell him about human nature, for he knew what was in each person’s heart.” John 2:24-25 NLT Seeing how Jesus knew human nature and all the sin associated with it and still came down from his holy kingdom to die for us exemplifies the true scale of his unfathomable love. God is so good and so loving. I pray today that we can all remember how much Jesus has for all of us and can live through him. God bless y’all today!
Thank you for shedding light on the symbolism of Jewish culture. I’ve read through the Bible a few times and never picked up on the symbolism of Jesus turning water into wine and how it connected to Moses turning water into blood. Thank you!
Thanks TLC and TBR team for the Recap 💯❤️ continuing to enjoy the journey ❤ Good morning bible Family Have a blessed day in His Presence 🙏❤️ He is truly where the joy is ❤️🤗
John 3: 16 is a well-known verse in the Bible. And, it is a concise passage that tells of the gospel, or the good news. Jesus Christ came to save sinners like me, and anyone who believes is promised eternal life. This gospel message is for everyone, both Jew and Gentile. Chapter 4 is so awesome. The story of the Samaritan woman encountering Christ is so beautiful. He is our living water. Our spiritual thirst is quenched when we come to Him. And, in today's reading, we saw Jesus as God in the power He has. We see Him perform 2 miracles. He turned water into wine at a wedding. Then, he healed an official's child with speaking a word. Jesus Christ also exhibited God's jealousy when He arrived at the temple and saw the house of the Lord looking more like a business than a place of worship. God wants true, repentant hearts. Lord, help me, and us, to seek You with our whole hearts, because You, Oh God, are where the joy is! And, Amen TLC. God may discipline us when we fall away from Him, but through Jesus Christ, because of our belief, we are saved from His ultimate wrath. Praise His holy name!
We see something absolutely new, a new requirement that we didn’t have from the OT: Jn 3:3 “You must be born again.” Yes, the OT was about gaining a new heart and receiving God’s mercy, but even a senior leader who is steeped in the Law is shocked to hear that being Jewish and trying to obey the Law will not let you see the Kingdom of God. It’s not about the physical: you must be “born of the Spirit,” and drink “living water” (Jn 4:10) and eat “a kind of food that you know nothing about” (Jn 4:32). Jesus may have drawn His living water metaphor from Jer 2:13 (“They have abandoned Me, the fountain of living water”) and He calls Himself the “Son of Man” just as Ezekiel was called (Ez 16:2) and as Daniel saw in his vision of the Son of Man “coming on the clouds of Heaven” (Dan 7:13). Jesus also uses the OT to explain the power of the Cross at Jn 3:14 (as Moses lifted up the serpent on the pole and all who looked to it had their lives saved just by believing, so when the Son of Man is lifted up on the cross, our lives are saved by believing). So Jesus does something completely new with the notion of being “born again” but Who He is is completely a fulfillment of what the prophets have said about Him. And He makes sense of the mystery of the cross; that His sacrifice 2,000 years ago saves me today, just through faith.
Love this from TLC: “The greater Moses has arrived, the FULFILLMENT has arrived! The LIFE has arrived.” I do agree. The first miracle of Jesus was filling the Jewish PURIFICATION jars with water to turn to wine. It is His purifying cleansing, sacrifice of blood, symbolized by the best wine ever, for me and all who believe. “…there were six stone water jars there for the Jewish rites of purification,…, “Everyone serves the good wine ... But you have kept the good wine until now.” This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and MANIFESTED his glory. And his disciples BELIEVED in him.” John 2:6, 10-11 ESV
John 4:25-26 NIV "The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.” Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you-I am he.” God is speaking to us. God is speaking to me. Am I listening? God, open our ears, hearts, minds and souls to hear You. We are weak minded and we struggle to focus and understand. Be with us as we read and hear Your Word so that we may learn, absorb and truely understand.Help us receive Your Word with truely grateful hearts. God turn our desires towards You and Your instruction. God, You know all and are guiding us. Help us hear and obey. In Jesus name, Amen.
God’s love just knocked me off my feet today. The way He gives abundantly and gives us things better than we could ever ask for (the miracle of wine and the wine being better than what would have been served). The way He cares about holiness and justice (chasing out the money changers with a whip). His humor (John 3:10 made me giggle) and His patience with us when we don’t understand. His love for the outcast (in the story of the Samaritan woman). His willingness to show Himself to us (when he heals the official’s son, especially John 4:53). I was also floored by TLC pointing out that we will never experience God’s wrath. I hadn’t realized how much I needed to hear that until I couldn’t stop saying “wow” as she was speaking. There’s a lot I’ve been struggling with recently, and I’ve been feeling the weight of my sin. This reminded me how much God loves me, that there is nothing I can do that will separate me from Him. Reminded me that I serve a God Who’s perfect so I don’t have to be. Reminded me that avoiding sin isn’t a tightrope I walk so God won’t be upset with me, but a privilege to enjoy life as He intended. I am so thankful for a God Who loves us so deeply. Thank You Jesus for bridging a gap we could never bridge.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it.... Had to stop the video when you talked about Jesus making the whip. As a parent, I'm so quick to react, especially when angered by my children.... I definitely don't stop with time to make a whip. We don't use corporal punishment but I lash out and I'm angry just as Jesus was when they do things that are disrespectful or detrimental to our home... No I'm not comparing what my kids do in their disregard for cleanliness and my unrighteous anger to Jesus's righteous anger at the temple.... But I am comparing... Or contrasting... His time to think about his anger to make the whip. I'm a mom of boys. We've made whips. We've made walking sticks. We've made slingshots... Anything you might make at a Boy Scout retreat. This is no small task. Even a simple whip that would accomplish his purpose could take upwards of an hour IF the materials were all readily available. For him to take his anger but be patient with his lashing is definitely something that I 'didn't learn in Sunday school' ... And on day 270 whatever we are... It's the first time that I have felt compelled to share my God shot. He is not rash, he is not overreacting, he is not out of line or out of control .... He is patient and slow to anger and reluctant in punishment and he's where the Joy is. 🙌🙏
I love how Jesus crosses culture boundaries to reach all that are lost. He spoke to a Samaritan woman and because He did, the woman believed in Him. Then many other Samaritans believed in Him because of this woman's testimony. (John 4:1-42)
I imagine Jesus joy at the saving of this woman at the well. Such was his joy that when his disciples urged Him to eat he told them in 4:32, “But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.”” And then He goes on to talk about the harvest that is yet to come. I am glad to be a part of the harvest and I hope I am helping to reap as well.
Jesus says for the first time, and that, to a Samaritan woman, “I AM the Messiah.” “I AM,” God’s personal name, and He is exactly Who she’s looking for. And He gives her living water, Himself.
Jesus breaks cultural norms. His heart is for outsiders, like the Samaritan woman. The water He gives that wells up to eternal life (John 4:14) is for everyone.
This video is so amazing! Praise God for this teaching. Thank you TLC An amazing thing I learned recently by studying Jeremiah… it wasn’t bad that the people were providing and selling the items for sacrifice but WHERE they were doing it. The outer court is the only place foreigners were allowed in the temple. He was angry because they were keeping people away for God.
Interesting. I have always been taught that Jesus cleaned out the temple twice. Once early in his ministry and once during his last week. Why do you think this cleansing was done during the last week?
The steward comes to Mary and tells her the wine has run out. She tells Jesus who responds ' it's not my time' ... but Mary says to the steward ' do whatever He says''... for me wherever you might be regarding Mary..She always points to Jesus 🌹
Aloha, praise the Lord, and good morning BR family, My God shot came from all the chapters. The miracles of Jesus turning water into wine; He talked with a Samaritan Woman and she became a believer; and lastly, He heals a Nobleman's Son. God is an awesome God. 3:17, "For God sent not his into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved". He is where the JOY is!!!
She didn't really talk about Johns testimony about Jesus at the end of chapter 3. So powerful, that John knew who his "cousin" really was, and his own part in God's plan - "He must increase, and I must decrease"
I wonder what you would say to someone who asks: since Mary came to Jesus for help, I stead of praying to Adonai directly, is it wrong for us to pray to Jesus? I think it is wrong and I don't we should be following Mary's example per se either. We are called to be followers of Jesus the Christ who always points to The Father. Jesus IS God, God The Son. He interceeds on our behalf to The Father, so I'd ont thunk it is wrong to pray to Him. I do also like what TLC mentioned in another video that we pray to The Father through The Son By The Spirit. To God be ALL the glory.
Water into blood = death
Water into wine = LIFE!
LOVE THAT TRUTH
"In a Galilee far far away" 😊😆😅😂🤣you gotta love TLC's humor.
I am the Samaritan woman. Thanks TLC. Your kindness mirrors Him everyday.
Frankly, for most of us, we are, to some degree or another, the Samaritan woman. We have our pasts, our stories, and each one of us needs redemption.

Talk to Him. He is loving and forgiving. Praying for your unpleasant symptoms to disappear.

What a great God shot you gave today. I Love that. I've never heard anyone give that comparison between Moses and Jesus - so amazing and awesome!

Hey Bible Readers!
I love how Jesus crosses culture boundaries to reach all that are lost. He spoke to a Samaritan woman and because He did, the woman believed in Him. Then many other Samaritans believed in Him because of this woman's testimony. (John 4:1-42)
I really enjoyed the comparison between Moses and Jesus as far as water to blood and water to wine. That was deep.
This might be the best one of the year.

I love John 3 and 4. It's hard to pick a Godshot from both of those. Of course, John 3:16,17 are amazing!
Interesting. I have always been taught that Jesus cleaned out the temple twice. Once early in his ministry and once during his last week. Why do you think this cleansing was done during the last week?

Oral tradition says the Samaritan woman was called Photini, and she had a least two sons if I recall correctly. She is considered a saint.
Is the Samaritan woman the first person Jesus shared with who he was?
I couldn’t find where I can buy the hat…any suggestions
Under the video, you will see the title.“Day 279 (John 2-4)…more” tap on that and go to the store icon.
I learned about Jesus making a whip in religion class
