God is the one who does all good things through us. I can do nothing on my own. Only with Jesus am I able to do anything including reading through the Bible.
Whoa-the earthly wealth I try to accumulate is Monopoly money, and my possessions are plastic hotels. God wants me to build up real wealth in life, something that’s not a game, but showing His love to others, growing in godliness and hungering for righteousness.
I am definitely in spiritual poverty, I want to become complete. I yearn to focus on the things that matter which is getting closer to God. Give me the light to shine so that others can see you through me. I don’t want the Monopoly money. I want to value my relationship with God. He is where the joy is. 🙌🏽
Jesus teaches about His upside down kingdom. 8 beatitude-blessings granted to God’s people. They are Cumulative and build on each other. Recognizing our desperate need for God. Meekness is not weakness. It’s having the wisdom and discipline to restrain your strength while you see the goodness of others. Meekness makes us not peace keepers but peace makers. Square one- spiritual poverty. We remember that on our best and worst days our only hope is the cross of Christ. God isn’t after just right actions but a right heart. God’s standards go to the heart. Jesus didn’t come to abolish the law but to fulfill it- for us! Heart follows treasure. God teaches us to inspect the fruit- not the root. God knows the root. Don’t eat or take in bad bad fruit. All good works we do is from God working through us. All glory to Him. All begins and ends with God.
Unfortunately today that is the problem. To many Christians are walking and ok’ing bad actions and fruit. We adopted a thought of “God is love and everything is OK” for so long that nonChristians can’t even see the difference between us. So many act just like everyone else. The Bible is very explicit on right and wrong actions. Yes it IS where your heart is tho. If you can blatantly look upon those in need and turn your head away or look at the brokenness in a human and not care to comfort and help, how can you say that you are His. Lord help us in this nation turn back to You. To Your precepts and concepts. Change our hearts Oh Lord and heal our land. Remove the hearts of stone and replace them with hearts filled with Your desires and love. Cleanse and purge us from all unrighteousness and impurity with the precious Blood of Jesus. Forgive us our sins and cast us not away from Your presence. You ARE God and we declare it through out the heavens and earth. To You alone be all Glory and Praise forever and forever 🙌
God cares for His creation. We are cared for just as the animals and plants on Earth. God tells us not to worry. We are to focus on Him and not worry about the past, present, or future. Our focus needs to be God, and everything will fall into place. Matthew 6:34 NIV "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Aloha, praise the Lord and good morning BR family. God's sermon on the Mount must have been amazing. I can't imagine what that was like. Thank God for the BR Plan and our teacher, TL for always giving us better understanding of our Savior Jesus Christ and his words. My God shot was in 5:12, "Rejoice, and be exceeding glad; for great is your reward in heaven; for so permuted they the prophets which were before you". Glory be our Father--He is where the JOY is!!!
The Sermon on the Mount seems like it’s “Jesus’ Greatest Hits,” starting with the need for complete dependence on God for our value as a person (someone who is “poor in spirit”), and concluding with His assurance and warning that putting His words into action are like building a house on a rock, which can withstand the storms of trial and grief (Matt 7:24). What I see, what I take in to my life, is like my eye that must be healthy (Matt 6:22). If I take in what’s healthy (not giving in to fears of things I can’t control), then He will give me all I need and my life will be clothed with greater beauty than a “Lilly of the field” (Matt 6:28)….Now, taking in all of the Sermon on the Mount in one day can be overwhelming, so if you want to experience it in small doses, every day, and read it through each month, and then write 3 thanksgivings each day so you end up with “1,000 Gifts” of thanksgivings at the end of a year, then Melba Pearson Voskamp’s “Beatitudes and Gratitudes” is a beautiful and insightful book.
Since starting TBR, I can definitely feel my heart loving God more and my sinful selfish self less. Thank you God for opening my eyes and helping me realize that I can do nothing to better my position but need to trust in Jesus.
All of our help comes from the Lord we can't change our own heart ❤❤❤ Good morning bible Family have a blessed day in His Presence He is truly where the Joy is ❤️🤗❤️
Your God shot Matthew 5:16 KJV [16] Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. This verse is our scripture anchor this year in our church and we say it every day. Philippians 2:13 KJV [13] For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Is also a word I received this week from my pastor. He's Where The Joy Is
I love this part of scripture. Jesus expounds on the Ten Commandments and also provides a blueprint for living a holy life that pleases the Lord. May we all put our whole trust in Him who saves. How true it is that revelation starts with understanding our spiritual depravity and our desperate need for Jesus.
I'm from a county that has a lot of farmers markets. Inspection of the fruit makes perfect sense. You can't tell what's good unless you know whats good. Same for churches, people, teachers, etc. Learning God's words is the way. Thank you Tara. P.S. Don't forget your vegetables. 😂
Tara Leigh, this is the most meaningful, deepest explanation of the Sermon on the Mount I have ever heard or read. It takes it from a recitation of familiar passages to a Core-of-Life value system. I have saved this one specifically to share with others. Thank you!
I got blasted on social media recently because there was an article about a famous Christian singer who had made some bad decisions and said she sometimes struggled with God’s word. You would have thought, by the comments, that she is right up there with a terrorist. When I made the comment that we have no business judging her on her struggles but to speak love to her, giving the word of God as proof, I was the most hated person on the planet. If I didn’t seek to condemn this person, whom I never met, I wasn’t being “Christian” and I didn’t know the scriptures. I do not believe it is our business to run others down. I believe it is to minister to them and pray for them. We don’t have to agree with them, but condemnation isn’t the answer.
Jesus said if we are being persecuted for His sake ....you will be blessed. So you did as Jesus taught. You can see you are valuable in the kingdom of God.
Wow! This is a lot to take in , but I love to learn I want to take in everything he says to me / us and our hearts . He loves us so much what a joy to know that and how comforting to know he’s always with us “ He really is where the joy is” and I couldn’t live without him just knowing he’s by my side and always in my heart 🙏 Thank you Jesus for all you done and all you do… Amen
🎶Make 'em wish that they were not On the outside looking bored. Shine. Let it shine before all men. Let em see good works and then Let em glorify the Lord.🎶
Thank you for reminding us of the reality of our spiritual debt. Keep us humble, LORD Jesus. Help us always remeber how much we need You more than things.

I absolutely loved today's explanation of what we read however I was really hoping you would cover chapter 7:21-23. That's something I've always struggled to understand. Anyone have thoughts on it?
Can anyone help me with a little confusion I have here It says “Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don’t throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you." in Matthew 7:6 NLT But, "If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that." in Matthew 5:46-47 NLT Do these contradict? I'm a bit confused here, should I offer help to those who'll take advantage of it and not be thankful anyways? Am I wasting or loving... I don't know I want to be kind to others but is there an extent to it? Edit: I just found my answer, i realised that one talks about loving each other while the other talks about giving spiritual wisdom We should at all times love each other But when giving spiritual freedom, God warns us that we must be careful because it may lead to our harm and we should know when and where to preach, because not everyone is going to be receptive on receiving the Words of God

Praying for Isreal
Meekness is power in control. Not being a doormat but holding the door for others instead of needing to go first
Yes!
Amen
"He gets the glory and we get the joy" should be on a shirt!
Judging an action, not the person. 100% spot on!
God is not looking for behavior modification, but rather for heart transformation 🙏
Both!
JerryCoffey, yes, but a behavior change will always follow a true heart transformation.

I agree, you have to remember that being Christian isn’t just following a set of rules, but loving God with all your heart.

Imagine a 3 day sermon and how many would up and leave today. “I never knew you.” Seems a lot more real….
We…teach, tell & testify.
Holy Spirit..conveys, convicts & convinces. Thank you Holy Spirit for this wisdom💗
Simplified... we are called to judge actions, not hearts. God is judge of all. Thank you!
Our Father knows what we need before we ask Him (Matt 6:8).
Hry Bible Readers!
God is evident throughout The Sermon on The Mount! I see the Beatitudes as rungs on a ladder! How we need the Lord! God provides the way!
This was a really good read today. I was reminded of what it truly means to love God.
This one hit hard! I love your recap on this one! I think I learned more on this one than any other day so far!
