Not only the first hole but a silver love token as well. It looks like the silver drought is over and you are teetering on the edge of 40k subscribers. The best of wishes my friend on continued success.🎉
Blessings, my Scottish Detectorist friend, from this old man in Tennessee. WOOHOO…SILVER! Nice to see that the silver drought is over. Brilliant. Silver “bookends” with cool finds between.
It’s always a great day when The Scottish Detectorists come and detect a great permission! Double silver too. Thanks for sharing with us and keeping my fingers crossed for 40 k this week
1816 Shilling HONI SUIT Q MAL Y PENSE, "Honi soit qui mal y pense" is a Latin phrase that translates to "Evil to him who evil thinks". It is an Anglo-Norman maxim, a dialect of Old Norman French spoken by the medieval English ruling class. The phrase is usually translated as "shame on anyone who thinks evil of it"
Start as you mean to go on, as they say! That's awesome!! I subscribed after my very first episode, and watch absolutely everything. Thank you for the joy in what you do, and the knowledge you share.
A Potato Head silver love token!!! Very exciting! And there is a lot of detail on it too. Fabulous! And it looks like a big CONGRATULATIONS is in order. According to the little number above, you have hit 40,000 subscribers! Yay! Really looking forward to the next few videos. The last couple of outings have been great fun.
Have been a fan for quite some time, Love the finds, the history lessons and its super cool to see people who obviously love the hobby as much as I do. Keep up the great work!!
Hey brother, congrats on the 40k subs!!!!! You deserve them and more. Thank you for your passion. I never metal detected, but I know a lot about now. You keep making videos, and I'll keep watching. God Bless you and your family. Lou from Los Angeles, California U.S.A.
🥳🎉 WOOHOO... massive congratulations on the BIG 4-0. Forty thousand subscribers !! Unreal, but you work hard for your gains. I'm super happy for you. 🙌
Brilliant ! Great silver on the first and final - perfect 👏👏 lots of beer 🍺 Other interesting finds too, especially your swirly button and Alberts torso remains too 😂
The medallion shows as you stated but date at bottom (with words) July 10th 1914. They come in copper and guilt. You can see the originals if you search. I've tried posting this 3 times, seems that I cannot add a web site.
Congratulations with the beautiful George III silver. And congratulations with the 40K subscribers! Love your videos, have recently started my metal detecting career (end of december) and am getting to grips with my Deus II here in the Netherlands. Looking forward to your next video 🙂, thank you for all the effort you put into them!
We went Decimal on Monday 15th February 1971, I was 11, almost 12, I remember it very well. The final Penny was the proof, non circulated 1970, but the last minted for circulation was 1967 when they made about 450 million of them!
I'm pretty sure I started the video and there were less than 40k subscribers and I finished and there were! Congrats, well deserved! Your videos are relaxing and a great way for me to wind down before bed!
Congratulations on your silver. You Scottish badger. Keep on digging my friend. What I wouldn’t give to spend a couple days in the fields with you, but I just have to live vicariously through your videos. Thank you so much.
Thanks for another great dig, John and Albert. Great double silver for you, and some very nice coins for Albert as well. Looking forward to the next great finds. Cheers from Texas.
So jealous and amazed at the amount of possibility you have access to in your fields of Perthshire. Eh, John, I'll take you ice fishing(next year we're almost done for the season here in Petawawa) if you let me out to watch you pull some brica brak off the fields in your area. Love your channel!!
Agh, I envy you being able to detect. Returned to Canada on Thursday after selling my home in Costa Rica and woke up this morning to over a foot of new snow and temperatures below -20 cel. Keep the vids coming, it'll be a while before I can dig again...LOL
@@thescottishdetectorist I have joined the ranks of detectorists after whinning enough to my husband. He got me a Garret Ace 300 for Valentine's, he either loves me or just couldn't take the begging anymore. 😆. We have 10 acres and I have been enjoying figuring out the machine. So far I'm 11 cents ahead 😂 and oodles of iron. Thanks for inspiring a new hobby.
I thought I'd add, I wanted to ask where the majority of musket balls are found in relation to the local topograhy because I believe that, as hunters do, they shot into hills or inclines to avoid the problems with stray balls killing or maiming others.
8:58 Your 'Gordon Grahame' bottle cap has the clan crest of the Mackay there on it. I think I'm fairly sure of this as I've got a copy of the kilt pin and a tattoo of the same, my grandma being a McKelvie, who are sept families to the Mackay.
Congrats on 40K and the stunning silver! By the way I think the item at 25:15 might be a backing for a light switch. At least that's what some of the old ones here in the States look like.
The Mr. Potato Head coin/love token is quite a treat, and the sixpence George V coin was pleasant surprise. My wife was looking over my shoulder when you found the last coin and she laughed and said that she knows why I follow you so closely, since I'm often on the fields near me at dusk. When you're in a good field you don't want to step away. It was a great day for both of you! Congratulations!!
Well done! Great finds, I did the same yesterday. First hole was Edward I half groat, an hour later George VI sixpence and last signal on the way to the car a lovely Edward IV groat. Today George V sixpence and William III sixpence love token. All this on land I thought id done to death (10 years) with the Deus 1, 3 weeks of using the Deus 2 and its like fresh ground again.
You had a great day! Congrats to you and Albert. Something was going on in those fields with all those musket balls. Either a skirmish of some kind or target practice/training. I'd research it a bit to see if I could find out, though documentation is likely sparse and not terribly specific in location.
Hey John … I was thinking the chap that gave that love Token must of thought a lot of that fair lady to sacrifice 24 pints … This field just keeps producing some great relics … I have a very very good feeling about this field … folk watch this space .. if John thinks these finds so far are amazing …these are nothing to what is installed for Scottish detector …get the ambulance booked because this field is going to blow his mind !!!
It's so often that the Georgian coins are copper and toasted. This silver really captures the multiple chins of George III. LOL, come to think of it, the toasted ones aren't that bad. Cheers and congrats!
My grandfather served in the Canadian military during the Great War. He received a 1914 Christmas brass tobacco tin given by Princess Mary. His war medals were inside.
