"Great Success!", "Like a so" and "Very fine!" are the most quotable Iskall lines. Of course there are the classics: "You look like a horse to me!" and "That's a new animal!"
The main thing with audio gear like this... most people are watching on our phones or via bluetooth rather than on studio headphones or monitors. Yes the preamp quality makes a difference but thats going to make a much smaller difference than the quality of life improvement for you from having independent volume controls now.
@SuperMichael996 OBS can only split the audio it receives. Meaning if it only gets one channel for Minecraft, voicemod and discord for example it can't split those. Audio routing lets you split your channels at the root from the moment the audio enters the pc. Also for most people OBS is more than enough but as soon as your mic or headphones don't use USB but a specific audio jack you will need an interface.
yup - i listened to it on a nerd setup and... the difference is honestly negligible... like it exists... but it exists to the point it's negligible to the point i expect to be downvoted for saying it exists... you are 1000% correct and can the class talk about how shit airpods are but they're so good at pairing and noise filtering that it doesn't matter... they're hot garbage for critical listening but also... don't use airpods to actually listen to music lol... its like complaining about y isn't my gaming headset good headphones.... 1. airpods would be better & 2. mid audio is fine for most things, especially without having to worry about muting a live mic when typing.
Iskall, prank the viewers: go back to your old interface the next episode and tell your audience, "I've changed my audio since the last episode. Let me know if they are any problems." Then, you could start the next next episode with, "There were. So many complaints, I went back to the Wave XLR ."
Audio engineer here. You changing your audio interface will not make you sound more "roomy". That has do to with your microphone, gain and ecpecially how treated your room is. Go with what makes things feel better for you, then tweak it until it sounds how you want it to ^^
I definitely hear what X is saying when your voice goes up in volume/ pitch the reflections in your room are more pronounced. I noticed it in yours, and in mumbos video too. That being said, I produce records for a living so I'm hyper tuned when it comes to this stuff haha. A new audio interface will have minimal impact on your sound as apposed to something like a new mic, or a compressor etc. The only real difference I should imagine would be the preamp. The thing in your voice will just be the amplification bouncing off an untreated wall / surface in your room. An easy fix but to be honest, it doesn't really matter as the new interface sounds great, and not to mention the vast majority won't even notice it. I imagine the ability to mix everything on separate channels when editing will be incredible. Also I had no idea you played guitar?! Would love to see an Iskall jam session :) Sorry for being all nerdy about this stuff lol. The content has been awesome this season, the clip with mumbo last episode made a very bad week for me a lot better, I've not laughed that hard in a while :) Thanks IskallMAN
the sound is just soft. like instead of it sounding like the mic is in front of you it sounds like your talking to the mic a couple feet back from the mic like middle of your room. I think that is what he meant by roomy. but prob wouldn't notice other wise.
Your audio is great. Don't sweat it - 80% of people are happy with "very good" quality, and only 10% will pick apart every pop and tiny echo, like X was doing. (The other 10% are fine with FM radio quality.) It's the MP3 effect - don't spend forever trying to hit perfection!
You sound brighter/treble, and quieter. As someone else mentioned, it’s like the mic is behind you now. It’s totally fine; it’s just a bit different. My preference is usually more bass, rather than treble, but if your current setup is easier for you, who cares what random comments say? I didn’t say anything on your last video because I thought that you had just turned yourself down during the charity event. Speaking of being loud - please be aware that some of the new horns are very loud. I wish that Cub could’ve standardized them more. I actually had to turn it down a bit on my phone when you and Mumbo were having your hilarious horn conversation. It was worth it. 😂
Just to others who may want to separate channels as Iskall is describing. The interface is better for other reasons, but do not get one if that is the reason. OBS can do that as well without hardware, you need to create each source separately and then just say how many channels that is. I record like that and also have control of everything separate on its own track (i do 3, voice, game, music)
And if you're on Linux, qpwgraph is an amazing patchbay software. It separates ALL audio sources and sinks. It even lets you "monitor" sinks. To look for artifacting on Linux, CALF also has a spectrum and frequency visualizer.
Iskall made an agreement then forgot. that he agreed to some hermit , that they can get free rockets at the shop.. example ”payment for the alarm system” 😂 So what other things iskall forgot?
Sound quality is good 👍I switched around here to see if I could find a fault, but I didn't. I used my headphones, my embarrassingly expesice TV, and two different bluetooth speakers, and the sound is great 🤙
I didn't notice the difference until Xisuma mentioned it. I heard what he was talking about, but I like it. I think it may be a lack of deadening baffles, but it accentuates your emotions of being excited. It works well!
Just so you know, in the latest OBS versions you can actually separate audio tracks by application anyway! It's definitely nice to have it on the hardware side though :)
I generally listen to UA-cam on decent headphones. Your audio is perhaps slightly flatter than before, but still perfectly acceptable for a professional UA-camr. No need to obsess over it.
I just got a Yamaha ZG01 and it’s working really well for me. I was using a Scarlett 2i2 before this. I like using it as a DAC too so I can use my studio monitors with it.
The stuff X is talking about is entirely mic and room setup. Either you've moved the mic, maybe changed the gain to be more sensitive and boosting it less digitally, but it's got very little to do with the interface itself.
RODE Streamer X is probably more suitable as far as the RODE range of audio interfaces. Includes the similar audio routing software, but also has the benefit of HDMI input for a proper professional camera rather than a USB web cam.
I have to say I don’t love watching xssuma videos but he’s such a good guy so I try to watch his content because he deserves the revenue he puts in such excellent work and you can tell he does care about his fellow hermits.
I watch on a 55" Toshiba TV for a PC monitor and I can not hear any of the room noise unless you put your mic against it lol. I think it's mostly going to be quality headphone users who can hear it. I have headphones but they are cheap and I only use them to communicate when playing with other people, and oddly enough with my window AC unit being RIGHT next to my desk by like four inches, not even kidding, NOBODY can ever hear it when I speak, since I filter everything through discord after voicemod!
I just whent back to your latest video before the stream and hearing them side by side this new interface cuts out alot of low volume background humm you could hear before. Now there is what I would describe as a little high volume background fuzz which is a lot less noticeable
For the microphone and PC sounds: if you are poor or your geography is your destiny but still eager to learn and improve, use Voicemeeter Banana or Potato etc. for multichannel recordings and streams. It is also free. You can shine your bad microphone too and get rid of noises if you set up it right.
Honestly I did actually notice a difference in audio, though I interpreted it as being a bit quieter at first, until X said it sounded "roomier" which seemed more accurate to what I was feeling Either way, it's not a major enough difference to make it bad, and I'd say it sounds better, but I did feel it was a little off at first
Lol... I left a comment on X's video today about his audio clipping and humming. Here he sounds perfectly fine... I think he played with his settings after you 2 talked.😂
Yeah, I hear a very slight reverb, but it's in your old videos too, so it's probably the room, not the mic/processor. I also think you're down in the mix a bit now, as I had to turn up the volume in this vod vs. past vods. Possible it's just stream compression weirdness though if this is pulled from a vod.
Don't tell etho about this mythical "Audio Channel" Technology
I suggested cub to use 'Great Success!' as a horn
"Great Success!", "Like a so" and "Very fine!" are the most quotable Iskall lines.
Of course there are the classics: "You look like a horse to me!" and "That's a new animal!"
I used to say “Great success” because of Iskall, and my ex boyfriend didn’t watch and had no idea, so I made my own sound clip to play at him. 😂
"I say plenty of stupid stuff, all the time" -Xisuma needs to be a horn.
Need to switch your rocket shop to a vending machine model so people can't keep swiping product. You put in the diamonds, the rockets pop out.
and blocks for pooping out a box
Doesn't he have an agreement of reasonable free use with a hermit or two?
The main thing with audio gear like this... most people are watching on our phones or via bluetooth rather than on studio headphones or monitors. Yes the preamp quality makes a difference but thats going to make a much smaller difference than the quality of life improvement for you from having independent volume controls now.
I tend to watch on a TV w/ a decent speaker setup. There is no difference w/ his new audio setup. This isn’t a bad thing.
UA-cam and Twitch compression will knock out any of the imperfections
Doesn't OBS have a feature to split your sounds into like 5 tracks? Why did he need the device? :))
@SuperMichael996 OBS can only split the audio it receives. Meaning if it only gets one channel for Minecraft, voicemod and discord for example it can't split those. Audio routing lets you split your channels at the root from the moment the audio enters the pc.

I have an idea for mission tokens: you can turn in 10 mission tokens to CREATE a NEW mission (maybe not 10 could be 5 or anything).
With certain rules (having the permit office involved) to give whoever’s creating it some time and iskall to think out the rules
He could also do a mission to create a new mission :D
When X says echo, I think he means reverb. It sounds great, iskall!
I think it is a noise gate that cuts out all sound until he starts to talk.. so there is ground interference or something.
I hear it too, but only when he brings it up and reminds me that it's there.
Audio engineer here. You changing your audio interface will not make you sound more "roomy". That has do to with your microphone, gain and ecpecially how treated your room is.
Go with what makes things feel better for you, then tweak it until it sounds how you want it to ^^
6:16 well xisuma definetely added a goat horn sound there
Time to make a redstone payment system that filters only diamonds and drops rockets if they pay
I didn't notice until you said "now is this better" to Xisuma
So your new PC arrived in a Minecraft cube. Awesome!!!
1x1x0.5, a slab.
@@stratometal 😂 still hilarious
I love Vodskall because I sadly couldn't watch much of the charity weekend but I have watched your Vodskall episodes on the livestream!
Iskall's voice is the same, but the music sounded much more clear than I've ever heard from his videos.
I couldn't hear a difference. Don't worry about any echo, even if some can hear it, it's probably the subtlest noise ever.
I definitely hear what X is saying when your voice goes up in volume/ pitch the reflections in your room are more pronounced. I noticed it in yours, and in mumbos video too. It does sound a little less warm/full (had to listen to an old vid), but I honestly never noticed.
It sounds perfectly normal.
"Drunk Satsuma" funfact a finnish game called my summer car you build a datsun 100a but because of the copyright its called a satsuma
Iskall you need the oh my God goat horn
You sound brighter/treble, and quieter. As someone else mentioned, it’s like the mic is behind you now. It’s totally fine; it’s just a bit different.

"Of Doom!" is a good horn. It's used at the end of a sentence
Remember the end busting conversations between Mumbo and iskall?
It involved “turds” lmao
We need that clip from the charity stream of impulse saying "its time to get hot" as a horn😂
Elgato Wave products are god tier imo, I’m glad you’ve been enjoying it!
Didn't you promise Etho and Stress their weekly rocket stacks? That could explain the missing stock.
Just to others who may want to separate channels as Iskall is describing.
The interface is better for other reasons, but do not get one if that is the reason.

Iskall time to get the permanent office to seed out there correction division to get your diamonds.!
You may need to ask Xisuma what he's been putting in his tea after writing like that.
You and X just vibing and discussing audio is great.
"Pay diamonds, make me profit" needs to be a horn
My guess is that most people won't hear a difference in the audio...
7:18 I believe you are talking about reverb
Iskall made an agreement then forgot.
that he agreed to some hermit , that they can get free rockets at the shop..
example
”payment for the alarm system” 😂
So what other things iskall forgot?
So happy to have you back Iskall! Hope your easing your wrist back into the grind so it doesn't flare back up!! Vodskall keeps my day smiley
I wouldn't have heart a difference, if you didn't tell, but the moment you did tell, I felt like its a warmer, smoother sound ;)
Bregott add just before the video, feels fitting.
14:25 You nailed the sales pitch, my man!
Sound quality is good 👍I switched around here to see if I could find a fault, but I didn't.

Glad you like your new audio setup!
Make an official shop with iron-golem security guards so Hermits stop stealing (that is a dearby dare)
I just compared the sound and it is WAY better now. I would not have noticed a difference if i did not directly compare 2 videos.
i just went back a few vids to check and its clear as day. old was muffled and kinda grainy new is crisp
Looks like you might be forced to shut down the shop due to theft
I generally listen to UA-cam on decent headphones. Your audio is perhaps slightly flatter than before, but still perfectly acceptable for a professional UA-camr. No need to obsess over it.
Xisuma is also a musician, so of course he is going to notice the difference :P
Ooh new pc and clean xlr setup, great success.
Audio settings for a u-tube video,, were spot on.
I literally cannot tell a difference in the audio ❤
I just got a Yamaha ZG01 and it’s working really well for me. I was using a Scarlett 2i2 before this. I like using it as a DAC too so I can use my studio monitors with it.
Audio is great, as always

Shawshank reference, love it
if the templates work to add designs to the armor they could do the same to the tools to make them unique
1m cube crate, it's a minecraft barrel
“I say plenty of stupid stuff all the time” clip that
Seems like someone needs to visit the permit office
Love to see a new vid as always
I have to say I don’t love watching xssuma videos but he’s such a good guy so I try to watch his content because he deserves the revenue he puts in such excellent work and you can tell he does care about his fellow hermits.
Mission tokens could be exchanged for special trophies perhaps
As a person thats not an audiophile, you sound great, i personally wouldnt have noticed
I watch on a 55" Toshiba TV for a PC monitor and I can not hear any of the room noise unless you put your mic against it lol. I think it's mostly going to be quality headphone users who can hear it. All of it is a huge step ahead of a mic shoved in a tissue box all recording to one single track.
I just whent back to your latest video before the stream and hearing them side by side this new interface cuts out alot of low volume background humm you could hear before. Now there is what I would describe as a little high volume background fuzz which is a lot less noticeable

Love the wave
Im using the Wave XLR for a few months now. It’s amazing. The „mute“ button is a blessing :D
Just thinking...Your Yellow Top Tower is just begging for a Bumbo Stache....Bumbo Toweroni....
X literally telling you something I told him in a comment on one of his videos. RE: hearing the space of the room.
Honestly I did actually notice a difference in audio, though I interpreted it as being a bit quieter at first, until X said it sounded "roomier" which seemed more accurate to what I was feeling
Either way, it's not a major enough difference to make it bad, and I'd say it sounds better, but I did feel it was a little off at first
UA-cam compression will minimise any small differences.
I understand people not realizing that the rockets are more expensive in the one chest and underpaying, but just not paying is real robbery
in linux you would have those routing capabilities as standard built in
I think you need to hire security for your rocket shop!
I didnt notice audio difference in your video, but in mumbos hc video today i did notice a difference
You sound the same and amazing. It's my 35th birthday! Thanks for all the years of content and vault hunter's
Happy birthday 🎂
Maybe it's time to set up a security camera (cam account) in your shop area when you go offline.
i didnt notice it in your last episode xD
Phenonemal video as always.
Scizz and someone else are the shopping district permit officers so report the theft to them
I wouldn't be able to hear a difference lol I watch on mobile with earbuds. I wouldn't worry too much!
Lol... I left a comment on X's video today about his audio clipping and humming. Here he sounds perfectly fine... I think he played with his settings after you 2 talked.😂
Even after mentioning there is a difference I can’t see the difference
Could the missing rockets be due to Stress and Ren getting their allotments for the "alarm system"?
I could hear it. I prefer the other, this is much more echoey and the high pitch is more noticeable. However! I will still watch your videos.
X is referring to a noise gate... The white noise is coming in when you speak.
I watch you on a big tv with a good sound system and I can’t hear a difference.
For the record, I think you're audio sounds fantastic
My guess is that most people dont really care how good the audio is
1:16 "Phenonemal"
Somebody send this to etho. He records with just 1 channel.
Yeah, I hear a very slight reverb, but it's in your old videos too, so it's probably the room, not the mic/processor. I also think you're down in the mix a bit now, as I had to turn up the volume in this vod vs. past vods. Possible it's just stream compression weirdness though if this is pulled from a vod.
im watching with headphones and i honestly dont tell a difference
IskallMAN horn
maybe its grian who is stealing because he is flat broke.
Bdubs stole originally (on accident) so it's probably him
