These commercials had NO business being so hilarious when their intention was to save lives. Instead, “I’ve fallen & I can’t get up” became the ultimate punch line, and was used in countless comedy bits. 😭 But people definitely remembered the product, so I guess it worked! 🤷🏻♀️😂
I remember that there was a product whose commercial was the whole "I've fallen and I can't get up" thing. Only after hearing the name of the product in the back of your video is the name of the product back in my brain.
i'm not a 90s kid but i'm an late 2000s-2010s kid. I remember watching these commercials on my grandmas TV. There was this one, but there was also one that said something along the lines of "Do you think you're fat? You're just bloated! You have pounds of rotting food in your stomach 😁😁😁!" and one that said "Are you drowning in debt? It's not your fault." So me and my cousin who is my age mixed them together and said, "Are you drowning to death? It's not your fault! You have pounds of rotting food in your stomach" And we still quote it to this day
My grandma was too stubborn to carry hers around. She lived with us so thankfully most the time she wasn’t alone. My mom informed me that when I was little I found hers in her room and pressed the button a bunch. She got a call that was asking if everything was ok I guess they could tell I wasn’t on the ground or something idk. But she had to come upstairs and take it from me 😂
Omg the ULTIMATE 90s commercial! I can not count how many times me & my friends joked about this. I blame the 90s for making getting older so scary for us. This was what was shoved down our throats 😳😅
I used to laugh at these commercials thinking it didn’t happen to people but unfortunately, my grandmother’s sister died after one of these incidents❤️🕊️. Makes me see it in a whole new light
my gma used to sit on the floor and say "help i've fallen and I can't get up, LIFE ALERT" she passed in 2006, I got my dark sense of humor from her. I miss her
I know the feeling at only 27. With scoliosis and arthritis when I flare up really badly sometimes the pain is so bad I fall to the ground and I need help back up.
Brought back sad memories of each time one of my grandparents fell. My poor grandpa stumbled while getting the newspaper and was just sitting in the driveway. He wasn’t hurt, but had to wait for neighbor or someone just walking by to help. My grandma was inside unaware of the situation. Another time, that same grandma fell when I was visiting. I called my uncle and aunt and we had to use a blanket to hoist her back up (she was heavy and didn’t want an ambulance - which we would have called if she was hurt). She wasn’t hurt because she managed to roll when she realized she was about to fall. That saved her a lot of pain. My other grandma, was having a cigarette on the back porch. I was upstairs in my room. When she got up to go back inside, the dog zipped out of the house, knocked her down, and she heard a painful crack. She yelled for me, we got an ambulance, and turns out she broke her hip. But she’s a determined woman and was walking around 3 months after surgery! 🎉
This happened to my grandmother in the early 90s! Except she had seen the ads, and when she fell she started quoting the commercial while groaning in pain and laughing.
This was SUCH a joke with my and my friends back in elementary school lol! During recess, one of us would say “help! I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” randomly and it was always so funny 😂
I literally would vry during those because my grandma couldnt walk and sometime would go loopy af try to walk and i cry and beg her to stay in bed while a peed. And the commercials would remind me of her begging to walk 😂
My grandma had this when we were younger 😂half the time when she actually needed to use it she wouldn’t, so we would have to walk in and see her chilling on the floor as if she doesn’t have life alert💀💀

Agreed, it was definitely memorable, but for all of the wrong reasons!
1 like equals 1 love for the grandmother

MyEdIcAhL
That’s what made the original commercial so hilarious. “I’ve foowallen and I can’t get up!”
Keeds 😆
This advert should definitely receive a prize for "Most Unintentionally Hilarious Advert for a Serious Issue!"
I love the Mum and her delightful Midwestern accent. She's my second favourite character on this channel, rivaled only by Michael, naturally! 🤣
I didnt know anyone actually talked like that…
Where I live it's a mixture of this accent and a southern drawl.
Commenting twice is crazy
They still have these till this day 😅😅😅 me and my sister do this all the time
Such a legendary catchphrase!!! Lasting for decades!!! 😭
I see these ads every now and then and when I hear the iconic quote I laugh on the inside
@@MelissaKristinTV I still laugh to it to this day 💀💀
Pov, you're laughing at "I've fallen and can't get up." Now it's 2023, and you've fallen and can't get up.
Karma.
Surreal
“Whoops” Michael is so iconic 🤣🤣
"I've fallen and i cant get up" I didn't know that they can just fall until my own grandma fell and then died a month later 😭😭
That why learning First Aid, CPR and AED is important. Better learn this before too late.
Same thing happened to my grandma 😭😭
THE FACT THAT I STILL GET THIS ADDS IS CRAZY😂

"Whoops..oh 😮" -Micheal
Grandma could’ve gotten to the other side after being neglected for 2 hours! 😭
This bit had so much power it became popular in NZ where we didn't have that commercial 😂

I’m not a 90s kid but my siblings and I used to joke about this ad all the time 😂
'Cause tonight I've fallen and I can't get up🎵🎶
One of the many things that turtles and grandparents have in common 😂😂😂
the “All That” shirt is so great. love the attention to detail!!
I used to laugh at these commercials thinking it didn’t happen to people but unfortunately, my grandmother’s sister died after one of these incidents❤️🕊️. Makes me see it in a whole new light
“IVE FALLEN IN THE SHOWA” or “HELP IVE FALLEN IN THE PARK AND I CANT GET UP” lol this is so nostalgiccc
she shouldve had a life alert 🤷♀️😭😭
The whoops
-Michael iconic as always
I always love when the mom says "oH mY gHaAdDd!!!"
I remember thinking this was the funniest thing in the world😭😭
I would get emotional whenever these ads came on I felt so bad for that old woman
They had these life alert ads in the 2010s they're still funny love that I was able to experience this as a member of gen z
I was only born in the 2010's but I found this meme funny and I still find it funny now 😂
I'm 18 and that ad has been funny my whole life
As a 2000s kid, the commercial actually scared me. they had such dramatic music! I instantly thought of my grandmothers!
my gma used to sit on the floor and say "help i've fallen and I can't get up, LIFE ALERT" she passed in 2006, I got my dark sense of humor from her. I miss her
I never knew where that quote came from until now. Thank you for informing me
SHE DID THING! IS SOOOO ACCURATE!!!!
None of my grandparents fell but me and my siblings would still laugh at the ad XD
You say this was a 90s thing but I'm a 2004 baby and absolutely remember this crucial part of my childhood.
I absolutely love your videos, really funny and it’s the highlight of my day!
Cool humor grandma 😂 i cant
Now she’s taken her time on her riiiide🎵 RIP Vine
This is how to make yourself falling less embarrassing and more hilarious
I remember paying extra special attention to those chair lift adverts, I was so sure my grandparents might need one.
I still quote this commercial to this day
I love that michael is barely looking the direction of the tv
The all that shirt is so iconic ❤
I know the feeling at only 27. With scoliosis and arthritis when I flare up really badly sometimes the pain is so bad I fall to the ground and I need help back up.
lmao I just showed my 8 year old son this commercial last night bc he couldn't understand why that would be funny to us kids back in the 90s lol
My grandma used to say this as a joke all the time. I still quote it to this day.
I remember seeing this ad when i was younger and i always think its funny to this day

First thing I noticed was the Comcast Cable Box 😭😭😭 memories lol
🎶 I need your loving hands to come and pick me up... 🎶
we still have this
This happened to my grandmother in the early 90s! Except she had seen the ads, and when she fell she started quoting the commercial while groaning in pain and laughing.
I’ve been saying that line forever every time I fall someone else falls 😭
I used to cry when I saw those ads😭☠️
“And thats how your grandmother passed away”
She should have had a life alert
The fact this meme still lives amazes me
This was SUCH a joke with my and my friends back in elementary school lol! During recess, one of us would say “help! I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” randomly and it was always so funny 😂
I loved seeing these commercials as a young child they really made me smile
i'm not even close to being a 90s kid but i somehow remember something like this lol
We 2000s kids still make these jokes even though I’ve never seen this commercial in my life 💀
90's kids realizing that they're the ones falling and not able to get up now:
THE MUSIC FROM UP IN THE BACKGROUND-
I rememeber those ive fallen & i cant get up ads✋️😂(also i love the All that shirt that show is great😌)
My brother and i love mocking these ads 😭 (we have an antenna tv so they used to pop up even in like 2018)
I still use this everyday
“I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!” MY GRANDMA HAD THE SAME COMMERCIAL ON HER TV WHEN I WAS LITTLE
My mom is at the point in life where i have to shop for these alert systems. I cracked up laughing while on their website, reliving the commercials.
the fact that they laughed and said "she did the thing!" lmaooooo
that commercial scared me as a kid lol
The fact I've seen that ad on TV a few months ago lol
I literally would vry during those because my grandma couldnt walk and sometime would go loopy af try to walk and i cry and beg her to stay in bed while a peed. And the commercials would remind me of her begging to walk 😂
Me and my friends doing this nonstop in the two thousands after we saw one commercial 😭
Reminds me of 🐢
The fact that this is still an ad
This is the best iconic meme
This what my dad told me when were laughing at the commercial
They also be sending FIRE TRUCKS😂
Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but life alert can save me 😂
As a gen Z growing up with my grandmother, this is so accurate 😭🤚🏽
I remember seeing this in the 2010's
I probably would of mistaken grandma for being funny too 😂
Me and my friends still quite this to this day 😂
When this commercial cam on me and my cousin used yo call each other over to the tv and sometimes we even played life alert 😂😂😂😂
Imagine you forget to charge it
Back when memes weren't know as memes LOL
lmaooo im gen z so i remember seeing these in the 2010s, always made me laugh
I used to joke about that but life alert saved my great grandmothers life about two months before she passed away this last summer
This past Halloween I dressed my baby as a life alert and kept handing her to the elderly.
I love the All that shirt omg
Oooo MAN ..good memories
Am I the only one who was really sad when that commercial came on 😭😭??
My cousin secretly used that as my grandma’s answering machine intro and my grandma was FUMING!!
I lived for those omg
What's weird is I don't recall seeing a life alert commercial in the '90s. It wasn't till the 2000's.
Any kid who leaves an elderly person in pain on the ground to suffer wasn’t raised right. 😢
That meme never ages
Nah because I’m a gen Z and I saw this commercial and reacted the same way you did 😂😂😂
My grandma had this when we were younger 😂half the time when she actually needed to use it she wouldn’t, so we would have to walk in and see her chilling on the floor as if she doesn’t have life alert💀💀
I also saw this in the 2010s
