Every single ONE of these, Wing Chun/JKD UA-cam videos, are a Direct result of the sheer IMPACT of man little Asian man, who Single-handedly took the World by STORM with his Unique, and Innovative perspective of the "Fighting Arts." And now LOOK... Everyone wants to be like BRUCE ( Not Mike)!
My closest WC school (SVT) is a student of Jeff Web of Austin Texas VT. Would it be worth it to Train there once a week 40 min away or would it be better to go to RDU WC 2 hours away but only once a month? I'm in Southport NC.
It's nice to see some schools making effort to make Wing Chun effective (again). I found 2 flaws only but all the rest is legit. 1. your back steps when using that yellow ring were instabile as you moved your foot in a circe (back). You loose balance and control easely plus it was slower then moving it straight back. 2. when the front foot is in an angle as yours it puts extra "stress" on your knee (and makes it harder to check kicks) and it is way slower to move backwards. I do not think it is all wrong and there is only one correct way but all I am saying is that you need to watch some great fighters in boxing or MMA or something and test it. The foot can be in a slight angle - I am not saying it can not - but what I see on this video is a bit too mutch I think. recently I wanted to go back to Whing Chun bit in my town the only available style also works with this "twisted" foot and I do not find it effective (plus it has a 30-70 weight dist. on its fight stance so I said nooo). So I gave up on it. I watched some of your videos and I like them. So I do not try to be an asshole or something. Just giving my opinion based on my own experiences. I can be wrong of course. With this training method I would surely join a Wing Chun club here but there isn't any like this. Too bad.
