For me the jungle big game predator is the ultimate statue for a predator fan and that’s why I’ve chosen to sell my sideshow maquette because as soon as I saw it with all those switch out heads , I had to get it. It’s the ultimate jungle version predator and the original film is by far the best so for me that statue was an absolute must . I can’t wait for it to be released, would like the victim statue to go with it but depends if I can afford both as the customs and postage to England are going to be costly!!!

The Cinemaquette Predator is the top grail of Predator statues.
It's okay now. Ten years ago it was top top. But the sculpt is just a fan sculpt not accurate. But people hyped old statues up so high ten years ago that people have a tough time letting go of that hype.
@@Fiorwestcoast it has nothing to do whether it’s accurate or not, outdated or not, that’s not the point. The Cinemaquette is still the number one mass produced Predator grail statue. They hold on to it because it’s still a boss statue. Still commands high prices. Hype is irrelevant, that’s up to personal opinion and demand. Facts are facts. That’s how art works in the real world. Sure, modern ones are superior. Now you have 3-D computer modeling. Take the modern Superman statues, like the Prime 1 Hush Superman. Awesome and imposing statue. But you think serious Superman collectors will trade their frail antiquated 1941 wood composite IDEAL Superman figure for the Hush Superman? Oh hell no, not in a million years. And that’s my point. That applies to the Cinemaquette. Good luck trading the new Prime 1 Jungle Hunter for that one, hype or no hype. I pride on my eclectic collection. I love that it’s a combination of old, new, licensed, customs, models, etc. I collect everything Alien and Predator, and not just statues. I have everything from the first Kenner Alien to Ben Cooper Alien Halloween costume, Neca, Hot Toys, and everything in between. It’s about how they make you feel...not whether they are the most modern or accurate. I’m not into just one area of collecting. I just paid for the Prime 1 Jungle Hunter and the Victim Hunter Tree. And yes, I think that’s going to be the best Predator statue ever. But would I trade it for the old and outdated Cinemaquette Predator? You bet I would, in a nano-second. I don’t know if you know Pred Andy from the various Facebook Alien/Predator Pages. He has one of the best Predator collections on the planet. He’s just a huge and crazy fan, he buys duplicate statues of each, lol. I asked him what was his favorite piece. He said the Cinemaquette. I believe him. And that’s the whole point of my argument. Nostalgia and feelings for older pieces over superior-made modern pieces. That’s what counts. Amen for that.

@marty uribe I agree, that’s why I ordered it, ha. It will take a few years though, as that seems the norm in terms of ascending to the throne, but yes, the Jungle Hunter is destined to be top dog, especially with that crazy Victim Tree part, wow...I can’t wait! 😎👍
@marty uribe I also agree. ECC are overrated and overpriced, true. But I just dig the Predator because it was one of their older and first ones, and it’s really nice. The Cinemaquette Alien is not as good, but it’s signed by the late HR Giger, and that alone makes it a grail to me.

I have been back and forth in this one for a long time. I always thought many aspects of the statue looked cheap in photos so your review is very telling. I also am 90% into Prime 1 so I’ll wait till all those come out before I decide on this guy again. Maybe you will be right and people will sell theirs for cheap so I can afford to have that S7 custom paint job.

wow, at the time it was made it was probably a standout. But seeing the deficits that you pointed out in person, it begs the question of how did this command so much money back then?
Couldn't afford this one so I ended up with the Jungle Hunter EX.... Just happy to have a Predator in the collection. Amazing review as per usual!

Nice piece and I love the motion in the pose but I feel the paint apps are a bit average when it comes to the skin tones compared to the other Predators that are coming out.
Agree with you, that base is pretty bad. Looks unfinished, especially the sides.

I love this Pred statue, I was beyond stocked when this was released, yea there "dreadlocks" are not in fact hair; while some Predators possess "eyebrows" and other coarse facial and body hair, it is apparent that the dreadlocks on their heads are fleshy growths, and have been known to bleed when damaged or severed. They are in fact complex sensory organs that provide the creatures with their exceptional balance and reflexes. Almost like a tail on a cheetah or monkey. They are also thought to play a secondary role in attracting a mate 🤑 Great review I've always wanted to get mine repainted.

I agree with you. I was never in love with this one like everyone else. The pose reminds me of a dance step so it always distracts me. Didn't realize how badly it falls apart over time.
I like these reviews of older pieces just b/c I would most likely never see them in a current review

Just finished sanding my deck. looking to stain it. I want to go with a more modern blueish grey color but the wife says go traditional brown. what do you suggest? Not really into sci-fi creatures statues but thanks for the video.

Preds are cool the jungle hunter and city hunter are my faves !

I have this piece. I bought it 10 years ago, I still love it to this day. However I wouldn't say it's the best ever predator piece. I would put the Cinemaquette predator above this one. On release it got backlash for having the netting on his legs, he should have no netting. However what I do love about this piece above everything else is the sculpt and engineering. The paint is a little too flat, but I do like the way they painted the Alien on this piece. Still a keeper in my collection. I just feel better piece's are on the way

I understand the disappointment with some of the details and issues with mixed media, however the action dynamic pose, unmasked portrait and switch out weapons are fantastic on this piece. If not the best, it is still a Great Predator piece! GOD Bless Brother as always!

The total number of wolf predators is 125 that made it to peoples collections. I’ve had mine since it was released and never had a problem with it, just treat the mix media with a leather conditioner 1 a year. But issues look like a humidity problem.
I agree with all of your points and critiques on this piece, although I probably would've knocked it a bit harder for the paint, engineering, and cheap mixed media. It's so weird that I love the Aliens and Predator films so much, but most of the statues are pretty meh to me (if I did go for one it would be the P1 Dog Alien... one of the films I like the least, but the produced piece is amazing on every level). Even during the close ups on this piece, I tended to look past it towards your Star Wars display. Rey vs Grevious, eh? I can dig it. I wish that stand off actually played out in the films.
Youre right , the base is lacking but overall a really nice piece at the time .

I think it's a cool looking predator. It's too bad with some of the details they fell short. That's a shame to that the materials they used have deteriorated over a short period Of time. I really like the big game predator with the exclusive mask coming out. That would be the one I would be interested in.

I wish the paint was better. I personally think they could've done better on the face. made the mouth darker and the acid burn side "nastier". Other than that, I personally love everything else. A repaint is a must.
I've seen the statue recently and it looked great but for sure there are better ones now days but still looks awesome :)

Overall a nice piece
The Assassin Predator, City Predator and the Big Game Predator looks cool especially their title names. The city Predator can be called a jungle Predator since that Predator is in NYC he could be called as 'The Concrete Jungle Predator' which the name suits it well. I think all three mentioned are cool.
The Alien yellow paint with the yellow liquid acid looks like egg yokes, don't know why they chose a bright looking yellow color and not a mixture of both green and yellow to give it a subtle look to the acid color from the movie? But cool review.

I agree with you after seeing the pics you showed there are better Predators out there than this one, but it's pose it's great, it's too bad that the leather is in that shape in a figure so expensive, that's the fear I have, that some of my hot toys get deteriorate over time.

From what I’ve researched years ago there were no more than 280 made and a lot were damaged on arrival. Hence why it’s a very rare piece and sought after, it sold out early even though it was open edition. SS just had enough with making them, although it was designed and sculpted by ADI.
The Cinemaquette will always be the grail for me as it was made by Steve wang and SW studios. Prime 1’s will be more accurate to the film yes but it wasn’t Steve’s intention, his was to sculpt it the way he thought the creature should look. I have all the P1 and infinity pieces coming but don’t think they’ll ever have the presence of the CM. I’ve had my wolf LSF for many years and I’ve had no issues with flaking or cracking at all yet.
125 made it and stayed collectors hands so it’s super rare. I had to change mine three times to get a perfect one. I’ve never had issues with the mix media this guy has a humidity problem, plus a little bit of leather conditioner once a year keeps it soft. I’ve had mine since is was released.
@@getsnapped68 I didn’t realise that few made it, my source was on SS freaks, a rep commented years ago but the comment was deleted. The key is humidity and not to really touch it with your hands, it’s the wear and tear of shipping and people grabbing the cloths also as these pieces are traded quite regularly. Original owners rarely have any problems.
I already put money on the new prime one predator blowing sideshows out the water. You could put a rotten apple on that spiny thing and this would still be one of my favorite channels.

I started out watchin' Mr. Xs Predator of the Week. All looking good, then ... Goddamn Sucky Base! The remainder of the scoring was a bit like the John Belushi cheesburger samurai skit.
I think the concept was a better idea than the execution. Paint is a little hit and miss and that base is so boring. Also sucks with the leather falling apart but it makes sense if he's in batter it would be torn up and falling apart I know it wasn't meant to be that way.

My favorite piece but don't think i'll ever get it.
I’ve always agreed never was a huge fan of the statue buuut I’ve never seen it in person.
I am always confusing the names when researching these on prime one and so forth. Can’t remember which is which. If I ever get one my wife already told me it MUST be displayed with the helmets. 👎🏻

This statue is a lot better shown with better lighting on head sculpt with it fading off body to give more of shadowing affect..(the movie was dark as hell)Yea sideshow did cheap out the leather. i restored it by using Brick 4 Leather Condition and keeping it up and looks mostly great..Yours is too far gone maybe it was display in too dry of conditions. As for the cracking in leg problem? This was QC problem from beginning as some came like that and were sent back (not do to time)..production was stop because of it and other QC problems ( sideshow was losing money on it because of all the issues)..Only handful were made without that problem ( nobody knows actually number) and mine has no crack for how old it is..Yea paint could have been a lot better but at the time it was good enough..In my opinion nobody will ever beat this pose..Love this statue and will never sell it and it looks great right next to my Prime one dog alien.
its an awesome statue but i just dont like the headsculpt... the face , especially the mouth imo looks bad. wish it had the head from the LSB.

I have the Studio ADI effects book for this film and the alien color is accurate, yet another reason I don't like this movie (among many). I hate the designs of the Xenos in that movie but regardless, the paint application could be better on this piece.
I Dug Requiem aside from how damn Dark it is I don't understand why ppl hate on it so much it's So much better than The Predator and Predators as well. Honestly I don't like the color of his skin hard to say if it's screen accurate bc again dark as hell movie!🤣💀👏
