I would encourage you to watch some races! There are also good podcasts, Sirius XM nascar channel and social media that make it more fun and intriguing too.
How many NASCAR drivers has Jimmy Kimmel had on his show? Reminds me of when shows that normally snubbed country music acts suddenly sent invitations to The Dixie Chicks.
The Netflix series is great! I definitely recommend you watch it, even if you're not a Bubba Wallace fan. It's way more of a human interest story than a racing documentary.

I think that was mainly a Letterman tradition. He was a big racing fan, so he’d always have guys on after big races. Seems to have gone away since he retired.

If you finish 2nd-5th every race of the season you easily make the playoffs unless there are a crazy number of unique winners in the season. If you finish 2nd every race in the playoffs you will make the championship race. If you finish second in the championship race and one of the other 3 drivers don't win the race, you are the champion. Daniel Hemric won the Xfinity championship last year by only winning the final race from a pass on the last corner.
