I applied for V5 , then DVLA asked me to give pictures of thecar and close up reg numbers,VIN numbers. I found chessi number(INgraved in to metal when open the bonet)is different from windscreen and door VIN. I went to the police to check they said this car is stolen car and some one put cat s number plate and VIN number to windscreen and door. I did the bank transfer . Whats mu rights to keep the car. I got the proof of purchase. Please advise me. I m in very stressful situation
Hey brother I recently bought a car from copart unrecorded stolen recovered the vins were messed with and the vin on the chassis was filled with something rusty so couldn’t see long story short I got that sorted from a body shop and another vin number popped up underneath completely different to the car it’s a m5 now I don’t know what to do am literally stuck with a 50k car that I don’t even own now as the plates the car that was sold to me on is a different m5 and the one I have is a different m5 how can I sort this out as I legally bought the car from copart but they advertised it as a different number plate. The vin on the screen and doors is same as the I drive but it’s for a completely different vehicle compared to the one on the chassis

I bought a Nissan juke last year 18/05/2023 i applied for V5C after i wated for 9 months DVLA replied me that the police will come to check the car am waiting for the police to come no sign i went to police station twice they told me to wait for the police...am so depressed i save money working for NHS as a health care support work to buy this car just to drive to work and help patients. But see my story is very sad am passing through this 😢

Hi Get Job Done, I (private buyer) am looking at a car on Copart that says it has it's VIN "missing/altered", however at the same time in the information table they have some VIN listed (not the whole one though for protection purposes. They covered the rest with asterisk marks ***). I was wondering if the Tag Plates company will require any photo of the real VIN sticker as it may obviously be damaged/missing? Also will the CPR Windscreen man (or any other) require some extra proof to do this serve, as it looks a bit unusual to stick the new VIN at their presence? Last but not least, what would you advise considering the above information but if the car is not starting? What would be the best strategy to take it to garage and pay for any (hopefully small) repair necessary to make it road worthy again? @@Abdul-ce6zzwouldn’t you just be passing on the hassle to the new owner? They would have to wait 6 weeks. Also, for more expensive cars most people want the v5 new keeper slip

Just asking..... If car had been flashed for speeding/parking laws etc before yo sorted, would original owner be liable?
Have you messed up on speeding or parking haha..it would come back round to you even if old owner gets fines..they would dispute I believe.

Just sell the car then apply for the v62 in the person who’s buying the cars name less hassle for you

U can only tax by phoning dvla due to covid 19 as their are delays in getting applications.
