No, it's European culture my friend. It begun with free men questioning everything through the scientific method in Greece; then making it fair through the law by Romans; then spread around the world by Spaniards; then reaching its peak in the Renaissance through all Europe with all kind of inventions, discoveries and art; then making free societies with the French illustration; then making it economically feasible by the English; then making it efficient to the detail by the Germans; then praising and immortalising the brightest minds by the Swedish. All Europeans have contributed shaping the world.
Our poisson is religion and all kind of brainless and fairy tales.
My favorite invention? a bike. I own four. My most beloved possession is a Pinarello Dogma, it's pure and simple the highest expression of mechanical engineering. It's obvious I ride my bike everyday and I follow the classics, Monuments and Grand Tours.
      Peace in our hearts,
      Science in our minds,
and healthy live riding a bike :-)

ERNEST SALISBURY Hey teacher, at minute 1:40 Ranieri is so embarrassed and is asking crowd to calm down, because they were just singing their usual football songs. Right after there's clearly a technical audio adjustment to 'mute' crowd. You can still hear crowd don't care at minute 5:50, one second after the performance they keep with their usual singing. I am more critical with the choice to bring Bocelli in the stadium, rather than with supporters themselves. Unrespectful supporters are unfortunately nearly in every stadium.

In the UK it is common to sing along with vocal performances, especially at football games, it is just part of the culture.
A better comparison would be an Indian person eating in a UK household and the hosts accidently disrespecting one of their traditions or a part of their culture because they did not know it existed.
It is not disrespectful in any way, and one who suggests it is are just plain wrong. It implies they knew the traditions in opera and purposefully decided to ignore them, which was not the case.

This gives me way more feels than the Euro 2020 opening ceremony. Honestly I think the fans here are fine. You have to remember they are so so so so so excited and happy. Frankly it's even a a bit unfair to subject them to something so refined and expect them to fully appreciate it in that moment. Football is everything to some of them and this first title win was huge. Many will normally have no business listening to opera but it definitely hits them all. After all singing is something football fans have a passion for too. Bocelli seems to understand the noise and frankly as an Italian artist he likely understands passion. It's a football stadium not a fancy opera house, he could know what to expect. Besides, the contrast of 'class' shall we say is partly what makes it so beautiful.

I’d like to think they were singing about something so beautiful, it can’t be expressed in words, and makes your heart ache because of it. I tell you, those voices soared higher and farther than anybody in a gray place dares to dream. It was like some beautiful bird flapped into our drab little cage and made those walls dissolve away, and for the briefest of moments, every last man felt free.

3 years on, Leicester are returning towards the top again. Great memories, epic season in which many things fell into place at the same time. Best thing which happened in English football for a generation.
