120 wpm IS good, because that's already above average, in fact as far as I know, the standard for a secretary is 80 wpm, and the average person can type as fast as 38-40 wpm. Ngl, I'm not shocked that they got addicted to testing their speed, same thing happened to an entire class when we were still at the computer lab with nothing to do lol.
I studied IT for two years and my highest record is just around 50-ish. There's also the fact the "words" I had to encode when I took the test doesn't even make sense. Well, one of my fingers is paralyzed but that doesn't changed the fact that chat's wpm is incredibly high.
Imagine typing on a Latin keyboard, but using Cyrillic phonetics - you don't know where some specific letters are, and you don't know what W and V are, until you test them.
The wpm for someone who doesn't really type much and doesn't practice typing is 40. For a secretary, 100. People with over 100 are so impressive because I can NEVER
I'm pretty sure they were doing easy tests with random words and no punctuation, because I find it hard to believe that all of them scored that ridiculously high (for context, 50-60 is generally considered "good" or "above average, and 130+ would be on the level of a professional typist). In a more realistic test, I would expect slightly lower speeds, but they are still impressive.
@@ryuuskadi2422 Keep practicing, everyone gets faster over time! Don't let a lack of visible progress dismay you, this sort of thing takes a good amount of time and a lot of consistency.
The default settings in Monkeytype are kinda bad if you want to simulate something that resembles a real typing session. Sure, they make it easier to get crazy high wpm, but they aren't realistic! Thankfully, the settings can be changed to add stuff like uppercase letters and punctuation.
I was wondering how they could get stuff so high cause I remember my scores from a couple years ago in elementary school and middle school were only like 30s to 40 and that was like really good
My accuracy is shit when using punctuation, the last time i tried to test my WPM was 2 years ago, 90WPM , just to input "skills" in a resume project for work immersion. If my accuracy in punctuation was better i could probably do 100+. I don't know about the others but typing above 80WPM feels like pressing 5+ keys in a second, surely about 7+ keys for 100 WPM. Being one with the keyboard both physically and mentally. Pressing 1 key blinded and you know where all the keys are, not only alpha keys but also F1 and such. Hahahah just wanted to share my WPM and how i feel, holding hands in a daily basis since my 2nd grade in elementary.
Well, that seems like it would be good to counterbalance the fact you're typing random words. My typing speed in these tests is always so comparatively low to how I type when I need to, using my own words
knowing where the keys are on the keyboard instinctively helps, so you want to do it on a keyboard you are used to. Positioning your hand in the middle of the keyboard is important to reach any keys as fast as possible. If you have to look at the keyboard while you type, you're not going to be fast enough
I have been on the internet chatting with people and typing for more than 10 years because I'm always on my PC 24/7. I know all the letters on the keyboard by heart and I can type them even with my eyes closed. My highest record is 120 WPM with around 97% accuracy.
I dunno I was in computer class when I was in school where a friend challenged me seeing my GWAM and we kept doing the tests that we were given in class until I was at like 190 or somethin and I've never written fanfiction. That said I did write a story, but that was with pen and paper and it wasn't based on anything.
Man I miss being able to type consistently. Can still type fast, but since I swap between like three different keyboards nowadays my accuracy has plummeted.
Probably because they use computers all the time and know where the keys are without looking and they also play games which some require you to communicate with typing so maybe they feel the need to type fast to communicate faster
It may be due to differing approaches toward speed and accuracy. I would assume that you are much more accurate, since usually people who type for their job have to fix mistakes, whereas with gamers and streamers their precision is less necessary.
I have the same problem when doing most online tests. I can type my own thoughts at around 120-130 WPM, but if I have to read and then copy, I drop down to 95-100. I've heard this from several of my friends as well, and at least one youtuber, so I think it's a fairly common bottleneck.
Yeah I know what Enna feels, but god damn how people type so fast? Mine was capping 80wpm and got told to sleep cuz I'm doing this at 3 am for almost an hour, in a blue switch mechanical keyboard lmao
In a normal office setting, I'd say a 60+ wpm with around 80ish accuracy is good enough. Not all the reports you will be making need to be a 500 word essay.
lol this reminds me of school when i was like 8. ALSO.. I saw a girl working on her 4 sentence project, and i went over and selected all of it and pressed ctrl-x.... she goes OMGGGGG noooooo... then i of course pressed ctrl-p. ugh being a kid, lol.
*"I can't even beat myself, I'm tired"* Lol why Enna so funny So *"The only one who can beat me, is me"* is not true all along Legend says that Enna is still typing right now as we speak xD
Reimu: "I appreciate honesty"
Millie: "Nothing wrong with that, at least they get more knowledge"
Enna: "ya losers"
😭😂😂😂
Should've expected that tbh
Classic Enna
I love the 180 from "Why do you know your WPM?" to them slowly becoming addicted to increasing their WPM.
120 wpm IS good, because that's already above average, in fact as far as I know, the standard for a secretary is 80 wpm, and the average person can type as fast as 38-40 wpm.

Idk why but i feel like avg vtuber streamers are like 100 wpm
@@hansennoah1 As far as I've seen, I think that is the general average speed of a streamer in general
Yeah man I was actually so happy the first time I got above 60 WPM. My current best is 73
For just random words typing tests, around 120-130wpm, but for coherent sentences tests, around 110-115.

I am visualising a birb typing with claws at that 140 wpm speed.

Oh wow... that's quite something. Thanks for the clip!
2:55 Is Petra still in school alongside Vtubing? If so, that’s some incredible commitment.
She’s in university or collage!! She has mentioned it multiple of times on stream
She mentioned it during her Heartbeat Outlast stream recently as well as various other streams as has been pointed out.
Totally. She did a few "study with me" streams in the month or so before finals this spring.
Dang petra’s an absolutely unit

My 22 wpm: Pathetic
Cruising speed of around 30wpm when you no longer have to write BS papers for school. 😎
150, without even any training ?!?! wow Enna is gifted in this ability... I can't even go past 100 while practicing for almost 3 weeks now.. wow...

Type racer is better at base
For googling, monkey type tests are perfectly reliable since nobody Google's with punctuation
Well, that seems like it would be good to counterbalance the fact you're typing random words. My typing speed in these tests is always so comparatively low to how I type when I need to, using my own words
Me being slow ASF on keyboard but my handwriting being over 9 000: "this is a win"
But Millie can talk fastest of all of them in exchange.
If you have zero accuracy then you technically can't type that fast since you have to go back an correct your misspellings.
Millie, channel your inner keyboard warrior spirit. Lol.
To have above 100 wpm for me is borderline impossible. I can't even break the 80 mark. How do people type so fast?

Lots and lots of practice, over time you just get better at knowing how your hands have to move to type a word.

Good muscle memory
Type a lot and don't rush, be deliberate in your typing or at least be aware of where the keys are
"I can type really fast but I have zero accuracy"
Do you just mash the keyboard?
The only people who can type 110wpm+ are people who have written fanfiction at some point in their life. You all know I'm right.

i heard wosemi can hit 170'ish with punctuations
it's from all the SAY IT IN RED!!! arguments
I'm sorry that's straight-up mad. Wosemi-sama's such a chad.
i wish enna joined the niji typing contest thingy

150 is pretty damn good, last I checked mine was 135 and I (technically) type for a living.
cries in 60 wpm 94 accuracy
I started practicing on monkeytype for college in future and my CPM is like 150 and WPM (in russian) is max 40 so like Petra y u so fast😭😭😭😭
I'm now jealous as my highest was 56 wpm with medium sized quotes.
As a person who got into tetris i think its the same for wpm
Enna fastest finger alive
I get 35-40 on a good day but I don't practice a lot. If used the proper way to do it it might be more
Can't have a good wpm with keyboard if i don't have good wpm with my brain 😭
so true. I'm slow asf.
reimu just complains at 120wpm to vox about everything

How the heck are people this fast - I basically type for a living as well as practicing every day and I can only hold mid 90s as an average.
