That's sad, another beautiful Buick gone to the dark side. Isn't 85 years and still running proof enough of it's liability. I can understand improving the brakes for our modern roads. These cars are meant to be driven not left in a garage as a show piece.
We lost another Buick
*I LOVE antique cars. But the user-friendliness of 1930s era cars and earlier era cars is not good. Very finicky and a pain. So, I fully understand wanting a turn-key car, but in an antique shell. Beautiful job, guys!!* 👍
Would have been a true Buick build if you went with a 401 Nailhead, nice build though.
That was a very good presentation. What a beautiful old classic car. I have liked Buicks since I was a kid and convertibles are a weakness for me, so I bought one in 2017. Though not a Buick, it is still very fun to drive. I really like your idea of the upgrade on the drive train and chassis. It certainly makes sense for road reliability. My first car looked really good but was a mechanical headache. Ever since then road reliability has been a main objective when I buy a vehicle.
You accidentally said over there is the 6 we took out of the 38.....your first mistake but shortly after u correctly stated it was an Ole strait 8
That U were replacing with
a simple Chevy 350 because the customer called for something reliable and I guess more friendly. That in my opinion was Y'alls second mistake. Your probably gonna run a Holley or some Elec.EFI unit aka...
Sniper ect.; Instead of a Q-Jet ....Listen all signs point to this being a Ratrod
In sheep's clothing albeit an
Elegant one but why wouldn't U respect and stay true to the mark at least
With a great Buick 350 small block or an amazing
Buick 455 .....C'mon man
use your influence to educate this non believer
Surely your experienced enough to know all this.
In my opinion, there would be several better choices than an SBC. I would've probably gone with a Buick 350. Not to knock Chevy motors, but they belong in Chevy's. There are far too many of them in other makes of cars, and using them in everything shows a lack of imagination. In the case of the Buick,it makes no sense because Buick motors are superior to Chevy's in almost every way. More expensive yes,but there's a ton of money invested in that car anyway.
Is the engine available?? To buy..I'm in los a Angeles CA
No, the owner had made the engine into a display piece / keepsake. Also wanting to keep it with the car so if he sells it the next owner had the opportunity to have it.
That is sick, putting a mere Chevy engine in a Buick. Buicks are almost as good as Cadillacs. Chevys are CHEAP cars.
I think that was the reason the owner used a Chevy engine, cheap but reliable. Kinda hard getting replacement parts for a straight-8 engine off the shelf at Pep Boys or Auto Zone.
@@smithjones3548 If you love your car, you won't buy parts from Pep Boys or Auto Zone anyway.
@@smithjones3548 Putting a Chevy engine in this car is like replacing the diamond in a ring with glass.
Almost as good as Cadillacs?
@@gary4507 100% true. Buick is one tier down from Cadillac. It goes:
Cadillac
Buick
Oldsmobile
Pontiac
Chevrolet
