Thanks for the video. Sprinkling in some short ones is good for variety. Also, I just recently found your channel and have watched both old and new videos. I have to say that you seem much more true to your personality in the new stuff. 🙂
No matter how easy selecting the right drill bit seems, and in defiance of probability, my first choice is always off by one size 😂. Thanks for the video!
Along with others, nice blouse! And you've inspired me. So I bought a squire affinity on bass in lake placid blue to mod out, already got a fender high mass bridge for it. Happy Holidays & Cheers!
I was inspired by you to install Ultralites on my V3, but instead of using painter's tape, I use self-adhesive aluminum tape. A little more expensive than a roll of painter's tape, but can be found in any hardware store. It comes with a paper liner on the back instead of sticking to itself like regular tape. This makes it easier to trim to size off of the roll and makes for a much cleaner look. It also doesn't deform like painter's tape and almost looks factory if you're neat enough about it.
Thanks for video. I would think an innovative company like Sire would be on top of putting decent liteweight tuners on their basses to add more value. A shame to spend $500 then spend $125 or so on tuners!
Well thank you for a good video . But I must say on my Sire Z7 5str Swmp Ash the tuners work very fine ! And don’t forget to work with the prea-amp when you test it .! Best bass for the money with many very different good sounds !!
Hey Lobster, thoughtful new camera angle on a headstock job there, cool! I recently retrofitted onto a fender neck a 3-string tree like your Sire has. I was a bit surprised tho that the A string doesn't simply pop in and out under the gap like the G string can. So have to unscrew the tree a bit for a string change. Is that also your experience? Thanks in advance for your advice!
I'm really hoping to pick up one of these basses this year. What would you recommend as replacement tuners for 1) a Sire V7 (1st gen) and 2) a Yamaha BB434? and Happy Holidays!
I need some Ultralites for a different project, so I guess I better hurry up and grab a set before they become harder to find thanks to so many Sire Z3/Z7 owners and subscribers to you channel. I learned that painters tape trick from you, and have used it once myself(as well as other tips like the Ibanez 6dB+ preamp trick, etc); well honestly my whole modding hobby began because of you...I really appreciate the ideas, introductions to new gear(Turner Pickups!!!), and the inspiration you've given me and other bass players over the years. Always looking forward to your content!
The blouse really matches the bass finish very nicely - Happy Hollidays
Lookin’ good! Love the matching blouse. Always love the reviews.
The painters tape is brilliant
Video length is good! Helps us with short attention spans.

Great suggestion! I've been meaning to switch for these installs

This is a very good PSA for somebody who wants to buy this bass (like me lol)

I wonder if a set of shaller tuners would fit in the z3? They look the same.
I heard good things about the Gotho light weight Tuners for the Z3
Was neck dive an Issue with the Stock Tuners?
No. My issue was the articulation. They were very stiff
Lookin sexy lobster!
