You really need to connect some outboard equipment in a loop through those interfaces, so you can demonstrate just how crazy low the latency is when you're using Focusrite Dante connections like that.
From what I gathered the Red A16R is an Audio Interface that uses a DB-25 Ethernet into the AD/DA conversion connected thru a PCI card and drives a DAW as an Input Device using Dante. Up to 32 devices can be routed direct to the Virtual Console. A simple solution for a complex process when you have as many Keyboards as the Doctor.
I toured with a pair of their green mic pre-amps in the 90s, they were an amazing vocal strip that let me fix a lot of house EQ and crossover artifacts. My favorite vocal strip I ever used.
I've got a clarett 8pre usb for sure it's not a A16R level but I can tell everything what a marketing always says about audio product puncy and clean! I love it! It's will go even better if I buy some outbard but not yet!
I just set up my first patch bay in my home studio, it took like 4 days to plan out and reroute my synths and outboard. i've been building a mountain of cables over the last couple years and it got a little too intense.. had to tidy things up a bit. This was fun to watch while plugging away 🤣
I feel your pain. Just put in a new Studio desk at home and had to take it all apart and put everything back together. Not as many HW synths but had to assemble a desk and there were over 100 screws- most were Allen head and did not lend themselves to an electronic drill. The result is wonderful.
Maybe it's just me or the reverb, but that sound of the poly brute at around 15:00 ff (that high note) reminded me spontaneously of Hans Zimmer's soundtrack in some dangerous scene in "Dune". Just wow.
at 10:25 you see him connect a DB25 to 8 x 1/4" TRS Female Cable into the Focusrite. then plug two (a left and a right) outs into 2 of the DB25 inputs. Then at 12:22 he says "we have connected the rest of the synths" meaning they are all individually plugged in. which would make sense: why buy 2 of these units with the capability for 32 IO's if youre just going to use 2 IO's @ChrisP3000x
Hi love the vids, tip for the future before handling the card for inside the pc, connect pc to the mains but have the switch turned off at the socket, Then touch the pc this will then remove any static and then handle the card
Great vídeo that reminds me why I sold all of my studio gear and synths and now just have an interface and two external synths. Simplicity is the key. And simplicity is happiness.
Hi @Doctormix, how do you use Nvidia RTX 3070 for music production? Can you please create a video about it? Well, I also have RTX 4060. The only music application I can think of is stem splitting (e.g., Demucs or Spectralayers) or maybe some other AI, like audio to MIDI (e.g., Basic Pitch)
Hey Doctor Mix, I have watching your reviews and recreations for over five years now and was wondering, can you do a breakdown for the synth work in the Final Countdown by Europe? Since you've done many songs such as Thriller, Axel F, Don't Go, Take On Me, and many other record-breaking hits from the 1980s, it seems the Final Countdown would the ultimate addition to this. Not many musicians have been able recreate the "brass stabs" formula that was produced in the original track, so it would be a miracle if you could. Thanks.
I'm not sure I understand the idea behind that setup. You're going directly into the converters with the synths, but through an analog mixing desk with the drum machines. And from the converter to your PC via DANTE, right? What are the advantages of that? Do plan to expand to a "real" DANTE network including the other rooms? Why the analog mixing desk? Just because of the look and as a zero latency send effect host for the tape echo? Then why just for the drum machines? Maybe you should produce a full "2025 studio walk through" video.
Lol, common household dust is made up of maybe 40-50% human dander and the rest is dirt, hair, pollen and insect parts. Question: What are you using as a patch bay for so many inputs? Are you using your mixer for all of your inputs? If so, how do you delineate which channels from the mixer to use in your DAW for recording? Cheers hearing the opening of John Williams "Superman 77'" overture as your test audio!
Thank you your video, I got question about system and equipment with connection. I service with church audio engineer. For my church equipment is digico s21 and cubase pro 13 for computer, I have mic for drum,eb,eg,ag,2keybord,apf, 4ch choir(soprano, alto, tener, bass), 1 podium wired gooseneck mic and 1pair pin and handheld mic for paster, 8 wireless handheld mic( leader, chorus), 1st violin 2nd violin, viola, cello, etc.... my question is console with computer connection and operation. 1. How can I do live worship service and record to my computer at the same time, and what equipment do I need between the mixer and computer? 2. If I want to play each instrument in my cubase, I want to listen to through the each mixer fader. 3. When I want to modify the instruments, how to listen through the mixing fader and punch in and out during the dubbing?
Can you ask Focusrite for a 1u 16 Stereo channel line mixer? We need those for our synths. The only one available is speck X but its too damn expensive.
@4:57 Hello Claudio & Team Do you really think that the devices have enough space on the sides to transport the waste heat away? I'm really worried that the beautiful red devices will die of heat.🥵
Please don't use a hoover/blower on fans (without securing them). If you end up spinning the fans in reverse, it can send a charge back into the device (and kill it).
the Yamaha desk is gone 5 month ago. Looks like the killed the contract and pulled it back…. sad. You can look it up. One day its still in the video, the other day: empty desk and monitors shut off.

Besides, I have not much space, still i manged to fit in all Studio and Office Stuff in my Space quite Confident. I have to live like a Student. Follow u since Summer 2020 btw.

Nice! I’m just looking at the Focusrite RedNet HD32R to add Dante to my Protools rig. 😊
Our studio is Dante based as well...for that many i/o a great alternative is the Tascam ML-32D.

Awesome video! This brings back memories going back to 2018 when I helped setup a Focusrite Dante Rednet system at the college I used to work at.
13:43 goosebumps start here ❤
8:28 - Classic! Muahahaaaa...!
Can we get a new studio tour and how it is all connected
Duuude, make a full review of URRT4! I love it so much! Maybe not a review, maybe a crazy fool around jam using only URRT.
Maybe it's just me or the reverb, but that sound of the poly brute at around 15:00 ff (that high note) reminded me spontaneously of Hans Zimmer's soundtrack in some dangerous scene in "Dune". Just wow.

Or was it one cable from the digital mixer?

Why you dont have your yamaha mixing desk?
Also consider a power conditioner
@@bboymac84 Did you see his studio construction videos?

Wow gentle men you’ve got some gear and you know how to use it 😊😊😊😊

Doctor MixGyver with a swiss knife.
Which reverb are you using in the video for the rhoads and the polybrute
What an upgrade!!!! I remember years ago you installed a Yamaha Nuage system - what happened to that?
Check out dust puddy. It lifts the dust rather than blow it around and back into the electronics
Puddy or buddy?
Hi love the vids, tip for the future before handling the card for inside the pc, connect pc to the mains but have the switch turned off at the socket, Then touch the pc this will then remove any static and then handle the card

Hi, next step will be update the Cubase, from 13 to 14
what is the synth that sits on top of the juno called? it sounds gorgeous...
Can we get and idea of what in that studio is connected, and what is the signal flow.
Thanks
Great, but where is ‘anywhere in the studio’? Do you really need Dante if everything was in the same room?
Muhteşemsiniz. Cihazların uzayda daha nerelere gideceğini kim bilebilir ki? Zaman içinde daha iyi olacak bu cihazlar. Başarılar.
Do you have a micro camera in your glasses to make those POV shots while you're playing? 🤩
But.... you will play with the knobs on the echo more that you will touch the Focusrite, so echo on top I think. Just for show right?
Love it ❤🎉🎉
How is all the drum machines connected to interface with separate outputs ?
what analog mixer do you use ? Tascam ?
Divine Nero-like leads on Polybrute😱✨🎹

Pretty cool. Good luck with connecting everything and labeling in/outs. Btw, what sort of camera do you use for recording videos ?

What happened to the mixing console in studio a?
I guess Yamaha wanted it back. The Nuage system was probably lent for demo. RedNet is an excellent substitute :)
The ethernet ports being in an XLR cutout, with an XLR push button to release is chef's kiss
It's called ethercon, the "pro" variant of regular RJ45.

Do both devices hang only on the front bolts? How heavy are they? Won't they bend the front beam?
Most rack-mountable devices are set up like that. They don’t require anything else and won’t bend.
