@AdoIf HitIer 卐 Quite long, kind of depressing going home but got so much sleep that I fell asleep some point before the climax of the story. Reminds me, I should finish it. Thanks for asking!
God DAMN this was a good story. I usually am not into this genre of horror but I was hooked from beginning to end. Mad props to the author for his brilliant storytelling
Creepy. Does he answer to, " The Master?". I worked in the last place to perform lobotomies. In Canada. There had been a lobotomy to try to cure a man from being gay in 1986. The place has a museum. It's a true museum of horrors. It once had so many women in there placed there by there husbands who no longer wanted them. The gave permissions for them to experiment on, lobotomies, electric shock therapy, etc. Pre 1980. That is something no longer allowed. Which makes this that much creepier. Awesome video. Thank you.
Just for being gay in 1986? And torturing women because a man said so? WTF Canada? You seem so modern... When I was a little girl a Canadian surgeon in Quebec put my face back together after it was eaten by my dad's St. Bernard. It took three hours to rebuild my face and I'll always be grateful. We weren't even citizens, just on tour there with Holiday On Ice. It was 1979 so they were still doing lobotomies when I was there, yikes!
@@babalon7778 Yes. Just for being Homosexual. Yet it is the largest area in which most homosexuals have chosen for their homes. And yes, before the 1980's, anyone having the money could have a set up to have their wives locked away for pretty much ever as the ones who survived their ordeals did become in need of Psychiatric care. I know one woman who had the cash and contacts to do this to her husband who I also knew. He'd been getting too close to finding out the truth about something. So a psychotic Doctor she used to date and was involed with what her husband had JUST figured out. She could always play that Doctor and she could have blackmailed him so she had him kill her not yet ex husband. But I can't prove it. When I lived in Ontario, I was in a hospital and there was an elderly couple from the US and the woman was in bad shape. Because they had no insurance, no one would see to her. The old man pulled out his wallet and showed travel checks and cash saying he could pay. Any amount. They still said no. He cried and begged on his knees after they told him no. He pleeded as his wife began to get quietly worse. Then she passed right there in a wheel chair beside the triage desk. This was all BEFORE 1986. It is not like that anymore.
It was a different time, it would never happen now. The husbands more than likely said they caught their wives cheating or abusing the children. When I was 14, I'm 45 now, I was put in Whitby psyc, a small 105 pound blond haired blue eyed girl. The people were mixed, men and women, sex offenders, murderers, child/animal abusers, crazy ass motherf..kers. 1 guy was walking around with a great big cup filled with coffee, bread, pieces of ripped up paper, garbage, he'd follow me around asking if I wanted a drink. I was put in there because I was a rebellious teen with mental illness, I was scared shitless. It would never happen 2day, never, maybe in Quebec. I'm a very proud Ontario, Canadian. I love it here. I will never 4get what happened as thats not the only 1 I was put in but I do 4give. Every1, have ureselves a gggrrreeeaaattt day.
@@kathall6422 I feel bad that that happened to you but it does still occasionally happen in every province. I used to live in Ontario as well though born in Winnipeg. I just turned 50 May 15th, of this year. Always thought I was older and had a different birth date and year. Put am inquiry in last year to try and find my identical twin sister. Got the phone call May 14th, that I would be 50, May 15th as well as information about my twin and a few other things. When working in a Stabilization Psychiatric Unit, another Psych Nurse and myself were called to pick a woman up 50 Kilometers away. She was in rough shape. She wouldn't talk. We got back to the unit and the supervisor told me to run a bath for the shaking woman. I said no. I said she had been raped and hurt and they'd need the evidence at the hospital. He asked the other Nurse if the woman said she'd been raped. She said no. Because the woman did not say anything. I told the supervisor that the woman was not drunk or cold. That it was all in her body language. I got her warmed blankets. She was native so he would not allow anyone to treat her for shock. I said I was calling the Psychiatrist which would have taken him 2, hours to get there. But luck was on our side that day. the psychiatrist was already on his way and in ten minutes was at the unit. He completely agreed with my assessment and gave the supervisor supreme sh..t. Then ordered one of the female staff to bring her to the hospital. They found out she'd been gang raped after leaving a little grocery store for food for her children which was not much. Plus she was worried about he children. She was in severe shock which they treated before taking other tests and samples. The attending Doctor told the psychiatrist she would need a councillor after she was sure her children were okay and being liked after. That she was pretty torn up in disgusting ways you do not want to know. But had I listened to the supervisor, her life would have become more hellish in a semi permanent institution. He was a racist pig. Literally. So I would say it depends where one lives and who they are.

They’re not illegal. They are still performed today, all over the world, including in the US. Difference is, 1) we now understand what is actually happening when we do this, and utilize it appropriately as a rare last-resort, and 2) medical ethics evolved DRAMATICALLY over the 20th century and mandatory voluntary consent became a thing. So, while yes lobotomies are still a done thing, it’s not the horrific situation it once was. :)

That was a good one!! I loved the ending. Did you know they still use electro shock treatment on people, they call it electro conversion therapy now but it’s the same thing just at a lower voltage. I had met a lady that had it done. We had only been friends a few months when she went thru it. She had a happy go lucky personality before the treatment and afterwards she was real quiet and stayed to herself. I never heard her laugh anymore. The worse part was she completely lost her memory for the past 6 months of her life. She had moved into my apartment building 3 months ago and by the time of her ECT her and I had been hanging out together a couple times a week. Afterwards she didn’t even know who I was and had no memory of moving to the apartment complex.
Having studied psychology, this is a super interesting story for me! I liked the little addition of “Dr. Foreman” asking if the narrator was related to the “other” Dr. Skinner, referring to B.F. Skinner, who was a very interesting addition to the history of psychology
During the early '60's, when I was growing up in Albuquerque,N.M., my mother was suffering from symptoms deemed psychiatric (it was later diagnosed as clinical depression, which is a biochemical condition). During her treatment, she underwent a variety of different therapies, including elecrtroshock therapy. I remember there being talk that if that proved ineffective, the next therapy would be lobotomy. I didn't comprehend what that would mean until many years later. Before she was subjected to it, our family moved to another state. I have been grateful ever since that she escaped that torture.
Albert Menendez, yeah I grew up in Rhode Island and my mother told me about how Joe Kennedy did that to his wife, that was that money bullshit, whoever had it would lobotmize the other. (ASSHOLES).
I like how karma came back round to bite Doc Rayburn in his proverbial behind after what he did to all the patients behind Skinner’s back. It’s a shame that Skinner didn’t make it though since he had no reason to return after resigning from his post other than out of professional courtesy for his former employer, and thus inadvertently sealed his own fate in doing just that. All in all, another good narration by the good doctor himself. Bravo! 👏
This is yet an awesomesauce story from the drs vault. The 1 thing I remember being taught in school about frontal lobotomies was they turned u in2 drulling vegetables that could no longer communicate. I'm not yet at the end so I can't wait 2 hear the explanation on y these patients r able 2 b like almost normal. Thanks 4 all u do and especially 4 being u. Love sent from tha great white north.
This may be the first story in days i have been able to listen to. Thanks for sharing this story whoever wrote it. :) It was really good! 👌🏻👍🏻 Ps. My grandfathers brother was lobotomised. I never met him, but my mother have told me stories about him.
i think this is only the second time and i listen to as many stories as i can, but this story terrified me before i got to 50seconds in i will come back when i feel fearless lol thanks for helping me stay entertained while i wash up

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Your voice is so soothing yet suspenseful. I want to go to sleep but can't quit listening.
YES!!! I never clicked on a story so quickly!!!
Wow. Excellent story and narration. Very interesting subject matter!

Aware that I'm a little late to the party I must say WOW! What a great story! It is now one of my favorites!
jeez patient schneider sounds the stuff of pure nightmares
keep it up like a chin Dr creepen
Aww come on , Waiting on the Asshole Warewolves, Excellent as Always
Perfectly depressing :D
I'm digging this picture,it keeps changing colors.
It's dynamic also the story is great.
Albert Menendez, yeah I grew up in Rhode Island and my mother told me about how Joe Kennedy did that to his wife, that was that money bullshit, whoever had it would lobotmize the other.
(ASSHOLES).
Mad, Mad Skills Dr. Smooth....Thanks for taking my stress away, today....
Oh So Barbaric! Great Narration As Always Dr. Much Love!!! 😍❤🌻✌💋
Bravo! 👏
a very good one again! thanks!
Fantastic, thank you.
Wow that was a great story Dr, thanks for the upload.
This sounds much like a documentary I watched about that era. And how the mental patients where treated was very much like this story.
Mind blown.
This story was fantastic, good doctor!
8.5/10.
Finally caught up with all the stories. Love from the Caribbean.
I live in Pittsfield Massachusetts and never thought I'd hear it mentioned on UA-cam!
Aww man, anything the good doctor uploads is great. Let me tune in.

Oh my fuck that is officially one of the best creepy stories I’ve ever heard absolutely loved it!! 12 out of 10!
Doc, you should have your own Creepy Pasta version of the Twilight Zone. Basically silent films with your silky voice narrating.
That was awesome!
