You're the GOAT of reacting content right now, been watching your channel for a while and makes me happy to see only growing bigger. Also pls react to Uchu Nippon Setagaya by Fishmans (it's got some ambient pop vibes and also some of their best songs)
You should listen to their EP Civilization. They haven't released a full album since 2018 and I wonder why. Time 'n' Place is one of my favourite records ever.
ight bro… this recommendation could not be more fitting since he literally SAMPLED KKB on this album… Nurture by Porter Robinson please I am on my knees.
Yes!!!!! Thanks for checking this out. It’s one of my favs of all time. With further listens you really start to pick up on the relationship between the production and the themes. Like, this album feels like an adult maybe tripping and stepping back through different points of their life (like past AND future). If not tripping then tapping into some sort of insight through dreams. Honestly despite its playful sugary veneer it’s a very rich and nuanced exploration of, literally, time and place!
YESSSS OMG this is one of my favourite albums ever!!! I wish I saw this live. So glad you liked it! This album is pretty different from their usual sound. You may still enjoy their other work (Bonito Generation and Intro Bonito are what I'd recommend). It's less rock but still has an ecclectic sound and Sarah Bonito's sentimental lyricism
Some suggestions that I might’ve dropped before but these are some of my fav albums I need more people to hear. 3 - Tricot A masterclass in Japanese math rock and my favorite guitar riffs in all of music If You’re Feeling Sinister - Belle and Sebastian All of their first 3 albums are masterpieces but this or Tiger Milk are the best places to start. Some of my favorite lyricism right now and fun sounds with good sad songs. Midori Desu - Midori Don’t let the intro deceive you, one of the hardest punk records ever, with a great fusion of jazz in there. And the vocalist gives some of my favorite vocal performances of all time. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Just a fun feel good album with unique vocals and clustered yet beautiful sound scapes.
Smags since it’s summer time you gotta check out when we were friends by the backseat lovers at least. It’s a perfect album for the summer and your song rotation would be blessed. Here are some of the other usual recommendations tho Album recommendations: Waiting to Spill- The backseat lovers When we Were Friends- The backseat lovers Citrona- Flipturn Heavy Colors- Flipturn Something you needed- Flipturn Shadowglow- Flipturn Songs- Adrianne Lenker Unreal Unearth- Hozier Close to Paradise- Patrick Watson Young Americans- David Bowie Everything so far- Pinegrove RMCM- Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners Good For You- Houndmouth The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We- Mitski Attic Sessions- Arcy Drive
If Swimming was your favorite song next KKB album should be Civilisation. Swimming was a preview to where their sound was going next on that album, check it out!
You know what you might like -- the album Flashlights by So Many Dynamos. It's got a lot of thematic and production details at the micro and macro levels that I think you'll appreciate.
this album fucking rules, but you should def listen to their first album if you want something that leans much more into hyperpop. kero kero bonito are one of those bands that continually reinvent their sound with every release.
Should've started with their pervious albums imo (as this one's way different and more rock oriented) but nevertheless, great reaction. You should definitely check out their other albums tho.
DONT PLAY WITH ME RN ITS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ALBUMS OF ALL TIME LETS GOOOO upd: glad you enjoyed it! this album changed me and helped me in so many ways, i love it to pieces now react to their Civilisation EP’s, they’re just as fantastic
If you dig the kind of drone-pop-rock-alt thing, you might love Stereolab. My fave is their big one: French Disko, but it doesn't seem to be on an album, having been released as an EP, with 'Jenny Ondioline', which is also a belter. Might you consider a reaction to an EP?
Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile (Longer but more accessible than TDS) Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet (Porcupine Tree is what Pink Floyd would sound like if they made Alt Metal from the 90s/2000s)
KKB REACTION YESSSSSSS this is game changing usual recs: Third Eye Blind - Self-Titled (please blud) Sun Kil Moon - Ghosts of the Great Highway Parannoul - After the Magic clipping. - Visions of Bodies Being Burned
xuvetyn!!!! i have an idea just go and react to it on a random day when you feel a little half awake and sleepy, like you may transcend it's so creepy but celestial
The rest of their albums are VERY different. Their first to are more J Pop with a lot of themes of childhood and growing up. While their most recent (Civilisation) is a house/electronic esque environmental album. Hope you react their other albums
you should definetely check out some Xiu Xiu, maybe start with A Promise so you don't freak out a lot, and DEFINETELY By the time i get to phoenix by Injury Reserve

Kero kero bonito were heavily inspired by sweet trip, probably one of their stronger influences, so the connections are there!!!!
this made my day
Flyway is a song about her dead parakeet and the video art for "Dump" is an old birdcage among other trash.
Also Rest Stop is supposed to act as a transition to their next project "Civilisation" which a lot of people think is their best.
billy joel- the stranger pleaseee its a timeless classic
