Thanks for doing this video and the other one on your Kuhn SpeedRake. I've been contemplating snagging one from my local dealer, and I think you've convinced me.

    Best rakes on the market.

The new Kuhn GII series speed rakes no longer require hydraulic remote with float position. We run newer Massey Ferguson tractors which all have float valves, but have a friend with Kubotas who has never had any problem running it without them. No broken teeth or any other problems and he is doing 400+ acres a year. They are outstanding rakes, and I highly recommend their cutters too.

we also have a kuhn rake but we have the 8 wheel and we never let ours float and we let it all the way down and go on with it and we have rough fields and we ant had one bit of trouble out of it yet. we have had ours 4 years almost and still goen good with it.

its a great rake ran it all day today, ran about 7 to 9 mph. I really like that (self-unloading goose neck)...

I have a similar speed rake made by Sitrex. It's a SR-10 model. I've used it the last two years and am satisfied so far. I seem to break a lot of teeth on the front wheels for some reason. I like Kuhn's design to use the jack to adjust the width. I'll have to look mine over again to see if I have a similar setup. Also, I like that you can load these rakes on a trailer much easier than the low profile rakes.

I would go ahead and get the 110. Good thing about this rake is you can adjust it to be no wider than a 108 if need be and keep same windrow width or you can widen it out as wide as you like and still keep the windrow width you want or need.

If I remember correctly, they were out of 108's when I was buying and they only had two 110's left and offered it to me for same price of 108 to make sale.

Thanks for replying. Were you interested in the SR 108 originally just because it was cheaper? I am in a situation where the SR108 would be more than enough rake for my small operation now, but since the SR110 is just a little more expensive, it might be a better investment in case I want to expand in the future. An extra $450 over a ten to twenty year period is not that much money if it wasn't too big to maneuver around my small fields with square corners and the occasional tree.

    Thanks. Sounds like good advice.

Curious why you were originally looking to buy a Kuhn SR108 vs the SR110. Is the slightly larger rake too unwieldily? I have a smaller operation than yours and was going to purchase the SR110 because its only $450 more than the SR108. Looking for advise.
