    • @louloulolo1683
      @louloulolo1683 7 років тому +3

      Yeah yeah absolutely , i was just not approving on the "w" all alone , i know it is considered somehow correct to use " we'd " .. but the girl used it this way
      " w'd you like to share "
      And it is totally wrong , it should have been
      :" we'd like you to share "
      Or maybe
      " would you like to share ... "
      It is just incorrect to use
      " w'd you like to share ? "
      Would should be written properly .. 😄
      Cheers

      Maybe because it's seen as very formal nowadays and is therefore seldomly used (especially in American English you probably won't hear that at all). By the way: Shall can be also used as future tense (replacing will) for the first person singular and plural (I and we). Greetings!

    My homework for today is:
    1) I must watch your lessons as much as possible.
    2) I wouldn't like to miss any of the videos.
    3) Will your next lesson be on saturday, won't it?

      A bachelor's degree is a 4-year university degree. Seema, you might try asking at a foreign consulate or two (US and UK most likely) - surely someone with that language set could be useful as an editor for multi-lingual publications or for translations or the like.

    Hi Lucy, could you make a video about how to use 'possibly' and 'probably' properly? Thank you so much.

    • @AzrentheLanguageNerd
      @AzrentheLanguageNerd 7 років тому +2

      Possibly and probably mean almost the same thing. However, the difference is that:
      Possibly: 40-60% chance of something happening.
      Probably: Above 60% chance of something happening.
      You can also say "probably not" which means that there is a less than 40% chance of something happening.

    • @minhly650
      @minhly650 7 років тому

      Well, basically, they work like adverbs of frequency (always, usually, often, sometimes, etc.) and we can use them almost interchangeably depending on circumstances. For instance:
      1. This last exam is possibly/probably the most difficult.
      2. He couldn't possibly/probably have heard what he said.
      3. A: Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
      B: Possibly/Probably.
      I am not a native speaker. If possible, could you explain it in detail? It is still confusing me a little. Thank you so much.

    • @andrewsmith74
      @andrewsmith74 7 років тому

      Possibly could be a lot less than a 40% chance.

    • @drkjk
      @drkjk 7 років тому +1

      Possible regards the existence of something. Question, "Is it possible for man to travel to Mars?"
      Probable regards the chances of something happening. "Though it is now not possible for man to travel to Mars, someday man will probably make the journey."

    • @andrewsmith74
      @andrewsmith74 7 років тому

      drkjk Not always. Someone could say that it's possible that they'll get laid at a party (if they think it's unlikely).

    • @mansakaur6545
      @mansakaur6545 4 роки тому +1

      “Ought to” has-to which most modal verbs don’t, so you can say that it is a semi modal word.Ought to and should can be replaced for each other (also depends on the the sentence )

    • @pavlotrofimov5791
      @pavlotrofimov5791 4 роки тому

       Mansa Kaur , as a matter of fact i would like to know this difference ("also depends on the the sentence"). If they are absolutely replacable, what difference between them? I read somewhere that we can use "Ought to" in more formal conversation. Have you heard something about it?
