Her reaction was so satisfying. She took time during her whole run to actually read the lore on the items so she knew a couple of things about Artorias. There was a big build up until this very moment, this fated encounter. That scream when she saw his name was genuine astonishment and surprise cuz she knew how important he is in the lore and also cuz she thought he was dead also in the DLC. I'm loving her DS streams as a fan of DS and of hers. She doing great numbers too as a streamer and Hololive member, besides enjoying the game a lot. I'm very happy for her 🥲
In general, the fact that Artorias was there should not have been a surprise, next to the exit to the arena there is an NPC who is also a time traveler and he mentions who the boss is
Another streamer who did something similar was Wraff during Elden Ring. She was happily figuring things out on her own, and actually got peeved when her viewers spoiled that there was a second certain Lord of Blood when she had just flipped out over finding the first one.
I was excited for her to meet Artorias because she seemed really interested in him since she always reads or hears his name mentioned in npc dialogues and item descriptions that she reads.
Looking back on the Artorias fight after all these years it looks like he was the prototype for the evolution of boss behaviour we see in later souls installments, had delayed attacks and longer combo strings than other bosses in the game.
and sometimes reading player's input so he can dodge in time. I wish we could see him in his prime along with his untainted sword, his pendant, and his greatshield

That's what I also thought at first, but then I remembered: this is the girl who stood against Sans for 31 hours until she was able to defeat him and bred axolotls 3200 times until she got the blue one. Dark Souls is actually the perfect game for her and is no surprise at all that she got so good at it.
I knew she’d fair well in the first few seconds. Her character moves were far too cautious. It’s funny how little mannerisms in games can tell us so much about one another.
Kanatan is very patient and methodical, which makes her ideal for Souls-type games. The reason she struggled so much with Sans is because her reflexes aren't lightning-quick. She always needs a second to think, but usually makes the right decision.
She will struggle with ds3 and elden ring, those game are fast, ds3 probably still manageable, but elden ring boss delayed attack and mix up attack can throw someone off. I just managed to remember like 1-3 boss move that I can sneak attack in.
@@KABLAMMATS Elden Ring really emphasizes positioning in boss fights to land hits, pretty sure that's what the Margit bossfight establishes if you want to destroy him. You can get by dodging in Dark Souls, but they really amped up the fights in Elden Ring

And they broke whole balance and formula of battles. New things? Try Nioh for new things, FS are not experimenting but more like butchering their series now.
An interesting thing is that his buff is interruptible. I tried getting greedy and snuck a hit in when the animation began and was shocked to see I broke the animation and prevented the buff. That aside, I loved this reaction. The sense of wonder mixed with panic was fun to watch, and noticing the connection to Sif was very perceptive. Sharing the animations was a brilliant move by FromSoft.
Her fashion souls is very unique. I appreciate that she's paying attention and noticing the little things in the game, even though i'm sure a lot of us missed them on our first play throughs. I'm typically someone who doesn't notice something until i go watch a lore video about it -_-

It's really nice to see how Kanata is really exploring the game and checking out the items and descriptions. I was really disappointed with the sequels, but maybe Kanata will try those next?
What’s funny is, this is only a fraction of his full strength. Just like in Radahn’s lore, Artorias has been driven mad and wounded severely. Artorias used to have a Shield on his right hand since he is left handed. And yet, he swings his sword with his right hand during your battle because his left arm is broken. And through all of these handicaps, he can still beat anyone to a bloody pulp any day.
Man artorias took me 16 or 17 tries. I changed shields, weapons , armours and what not just to kill. 2 grueling hours of struggle before i finally put him to rest. Still nothing could prepare me for manus. That guy took everything from.

Level 79 if you consider that overleveled, I personally think that seems about right. Her build is just relatively well optimised tbh with a ring of favor to boot so she can actually take a hit.

As someones whose heart absolutely broke when I learned the lore of Artorias and Sif, thank you for giving that man his final rest. He's fought long enough.
Artorius is probably difficult if you play through dodges. But I liked everything big and came to it late, so I had a big Artorias shield, a zweihander, and skull knight armor. He could not break through the shield with his somersaults and was easily defeated
