The little pewter piece with the flower in the middle is called a Quaich. A quaich, archaically quaigh or quoich, is a special kind of shallow two-handled drinking cup or bowl of a type traditional in Scotland. It derives from the Scottish Gaelic cuach (Scottish Gaelic pronunciation:), meaning a cup. The flower in the center is the Tudor Rose, representing the House of Lancaster, which the Tudor kings descended from. I do not believe it is 18th or 19th century, but perhaps the 20th. English and Scottish pieces are traditionally marked and you can look up these dating marks on various websites.
Yes I was going to post similar info Often quaichs were given as a wedding present The Tudor rose is actually a double rose a representation of red rose of Lancaster and white rose York
The carved natural elephant looks like its carved from a Tagua nut. I collect antique buttons and many buttons were carved so the light area showed on them. Love your videos, followed your move to Florida and I live in Ocala during the winter. Saw you at Williston and we may compete a little. Thank you for all that you inform. (say hello to Potato Chip)
I think the lidded pot is a mustard pot and looks to be Art Nouveau. It would have had a porcelain liner which explains the lid not closing properly. I don’t think the spoon is original to that piece. Angel hallmarks are usually German or Dutch.
Janet you are correct calling the sculpture Oriental. Oriental means it’s characteristic of Asia be it style, furniture, art etc. Asian people of Asia, are referred to as Asian. I’m glad you knew what the elephant was. Thanks. 😊
Sometimes estate sales confuse me. The person is typically passed, it's obvious family want to get rid of things. They price high and then stuck with things. My sister in law had one after her mom passed. She was overjoyed to work with people on prices with hopes it all found new homes. She made money with quality sold to clear the house for selling. My two cents...
That tin piece with the flowers and handles is a porringer. They were often used for feeding the ill and elderly porridge. There are also references to Paul Revere regarding them.
The red phone at the beginning of the video you identified as a “reproduction phone” is actually a genuine “Genie” phone from the 1980’s. I had one in ivory.
The small pewter piece you thought was a stein, is actually a pitcher to measure liquid. The handle said ‘deciliter’. It is Dutch and a means 1/10th of a liter. We measure in liters here in the Netherlands. The markings on the bottom mean that they are approved and the content of the pitcher is accurate. They came in all sizes. 🙂
Where did you learn all you know about different objects. For such a young man you are very knowledgeable. So I am going to follow you. Thanks for naming the. Objects you pick up, that helps me a lot.
1/2 The Caffeine.... 😅 That's what I would have said! Great Video~ If you shop the estate sales here in the summer, you will basically be able to buy entire estates, as not many people will shop here in the heat of Summer 😁
The double-handled quaich (Scottish) or porringer (English) is a small eating vessel originally used for soup, stew or porridge. Valued by American colonists, most American versions were single-handled. This design has been attributed to Metawa Holland although I cannot make out if it is a stamp on the backside of the handle or just scratches.
Those pewter “cups” you were looking at were likely sets of measuring vessels, though I did not recognize what it said on the side. It looked like there were two different sets of varying sizes. Did you notice the carved bench in the first bedroom of the first house? I thought it was beautiful! Also loved that pineapple table, though I generally don’t care for glass table tops. The wicker bedroom set was neat, too, but their prices were high in that house.
I have lived in The Villages for 5 years and have enjoyed it a lot. I have been watching you for a few years. I have learned a lot from you and Barb, She must miss you and you her. I have also been watching your other channel. I did not know you could sing so well
How do I know that chair was owned by Al Capone? Where's a certificate work proof? I do like your comment about watch out for blood stains though hahaha
Trying different things to sell is a move in the right direction; expansion. All the Estate Sales around you is fantastic; like your neighbor hood. Just love your videos.
I had to laugh at that too, and I wonder at that price if they even sold that chair. And being from that character and the history behind them if they sold it.
You have me cracking up with your commentary. You know it ticks me off when places price obvious pairs, i.e., salt n pepper sets, prs of candlesticks, etc.. separately! Lol
I love the pewter whale. I heard on another channel that pewter is making a come back probably due to the increase of gray as popular neutral in home decor
If the vase is that light and thin and seems to have a pontil indent, it could be art glass from Domar Israel. Google images show very similar texture and color swirls as your piece.
Your Kaiserzinn (Germany) is from around 1900, its an art nouveau mustard pot. The angel tin could be Dutch, I am pretty sure, search for engel+tin (Dutch). I could not see the letters around the angel. Its a poriddge dish.
Kayserzinn was produced in Krefeld Germany from 1880 - 1910. If you find anything with a model number 4000 onwards it‘s produced later 1894\95. Zinn here in Germany has become very unpopular and literally flogged off at flea markets. You would have a ball if you are into this stuff.
@@cherigriffith724 there was no glass insert or lid on there originally. Shame about the lid as this reduces the value. If Jeff looks at the bottom there is a number 4000 something. That is the exact model of the goblet/beaker.
I watched your show friday and bid on your perfume bottle. I had the last bid when the timer went off. Approximately 3 seconds later, you took the bid of someone else. Why have a timer if not properly used? Love your videos.
Hi Barbara, this has happened to me as well. It is due to the lag of time between the live action and the video stream as well as the speed of your internet. It is heartbreaking and it stings, especially when it’s an item you really want. I had to accept it is just the nature of the beast of live sale auctions.
I have missed a lot of your videos because I had to resubscribe to your channel. Plus I’ve been going through a family crisis. Hopefully it gets resolved on March 27
Hi Jeffery, I am back for your personality, it is always fun tagging along with you! 😊

Agree. Came here to say that myself.
cool, I would not have guessed that.
excellent info. thanks

Yes, and used by the couple in the marriage ceremony.

Also called vegetable ivory...
I know the more comments the better for your channel! 💐
It fun to look through the fabric departments with you. Always miss that when u don't 😅
Thank u for going over your finds at the end, interesting info 💐
I like that you go over your purchases at the end.
I thought those elephant napkin rings were handcuffs at first glance. Cool items.
me too😆
OMG, I thought the same thing. I was waiting for Jeffreys explanation of them. When he said they were napkin rings I burst out laughing!
I thought so too. Haha
Me too lol 😂
Thank you. I thought the same lol
2o24, Jeffery & Barb's LIVE SALES are now at Noon on Fridays, This Channel! Always Good Items and Friendly Chat.
Bid and/or Chat !!
Just a friend, not sponsored 😂 😂

You beat me to it! I was going to say the pot had a liner.
The " strainer " is a tea leaf strainer
The carved elephant is carved from a Tagua Nut, oriental in nature I believe.
@Janet Rogers. FYI: We don’t say “Oriental” any more. It’s “Asian or Indonesian” people take offense at the term “oriental”. Be careful!

@pamavery9352 it's just people that we don't call that anymore
Just shared with a friend, I think she will subscribe and share you video with her family ❤

It's nice that you're buying pieces that are out of your norm. You're growing and learning. I love it 😀 💙
You are so funny the Al capone chair you gotta watch for blood😂😂
You are a breath of fresh air this afternoon🥰 Love your “Happy Whale”🐳
Love all the elephants. Laughed at comment about Capones chair and watching out for blood stains. Love your humor.
I wonder if the lid doesn't fit because there was a glass liner in it
Love the pewter items you picked up. Elephants are adorable

Florida seems to be the mother load of estate sales.
I guess a lot of people die at The Villages!
Are you surprised ? Considering it’s the retirement capital of the USA 😂
Could the little two handled metal dish be an early cigar ashtray? The Villages estate sales seem to be a bit pricey!

"Watch out for the blood "😅
Love the duck trinket box
I think the little strainer you left at the sale goes with it. You put your tea bag in the strainer and it sets in that dish with the handles.
Al capone had one of his hideouts in Lake Weir florida. Bunch of history there. Coppers came, shoot out. Local bar there has all the details!
The elephant is carved from the Tagua nut and you used to be able to buy them in Tarpon Springs at the sponge docks.

Nice stuff you got Jeffrey. Love the elephant items and pewter things are great. Fun to buy different things😊
How do I know that chair was owned by Al Capone? Where's a certificate work proof? I do like your comment about watch out for blood stains though hahaha
Hi Jeffrey...What your calling pewter steins are actually measuring cups...
I would have taken the tea strainer. I collect them and they can go for quite a lot. Victorian.
It is really hard to find the nice ones.
Trying different things to sell is a move in the right direction; expansion. All the Estate Sales around you is fantastic; like your neighbor hood. Just love your videos.
Al Capone had a huge FL presence… in St Petersburg there was a house that was formerly his… so that chair could have been true lol
OH WOW 😮Thank you didn’t know that.
For a reseller, you sure are in an ideal area, probably the only place better, would be Miami. Have a good week, Jeffery!
Don't second guess yourself, you picked things out of your norm. Really cool.
Like how you are stepping out of your comfort zone of buying items. Can't learn if its a good sell till you try.
Looks like an antique PEWTER porridge bowl. Nice find!
Hey Jeffrey you found some interesting pieces at the estate sale 😊 I like the jeweled duck trinket box 😉 ❤ to you & Sweet Stella 🥰
Another giggle over the Capone chair … ohhh gotta watch out for blood stains. 😂 You are so funny!
I had to laugh at that too, and I wonder at that price if they even sold that chair. And being from that character and the history behind them if they sold it.

Very nice and unusual items, thanks for taking us along 😊
Hi. The filming was a bit off. It was making me motion sick while you were moving. Does it seem off to you?
Just found your videos and I’m really impressed, great taste!
The pewter items look very interesting hope you do well with them .🤞😀👍
I was wondering if that was a Waterford perfume bottle on the table at the 1st sale and if so how much. Wish you would have shown it.
Tin and aluminum are different elements.
I find you adorable! Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge!

How many estate sales are there each week? Such amazing finds!
Tons and tons. There are over 70K homes just in The Villages retirement community and there are other ones as well.
The ceramic tree thing in the box left at the sale was a treat tree. They are pretty collectable
I wish he'd have looked at it or even bought it, lol!!
Nice some have baskets for people to use.
Loved the video! Hugs being sent to you and Stella!
Handcuffs….? I loved the bird tile u left behind! Would have picked that up

Nice finds! I love trinket boxes!
Once again, grateful to you!❤
3000 for the chair....wow wow wow...is there a picture with AL Capone sitting in the chair
It’s a Scottish quaich it’s a two handled drinking bowl.🏴
Look up antique pewter spice salt jar Germany for divided dish.
My mom collected pewter 😊
Mine too she a few old pewter coffie pots. She was happy having them !

@@donnahughes8409 very welcome. Fingers crossed for Jeffery‘s sales.
I think the one with the spoon is for mustard
The little duck is very similar to Deva Australia trinket dishes
Love the happy whale and the colorful duck! Great job!
Jeffrey - You are in the estate sale capital of the US. Happy Hunting!! 👍🏻
How long does it take you to drive to The Villages? I love joining you on your treasure hunts! Great picks!
Dang I can’t believe you passed on all that cream McCoy , it is very popular ,again.
I was thinking the same thing, but cream is kind of plain Maybe he wasn’t interested in that.
The two handled dish may be pewter and is called a porringer ? May be a repro, but porringers can be old.
That piece that you were wondering about, I’m thinking it has something to do with the war of the roses. An English piece.
Small pewter things/steins are looks like measuring cups
The elephant is made of vegetable ivory or Tagus nut.

Loved the elephant knives!!
I would have loved those pewter measuring cups.

Jeffrey , that little piece with the 2 handle motif is called a quashe
Jeffrey, I love your thought process and choices, especially the whale❣️🐋🧜🏽♀️🐳🧜🏽♂️
the bowl resembles the Celtic cup of friendship -Quaich bowl
I'm thinking the pewter tankards might be liquid measuring vessels
Nice I love pewter
The pewter antique items were great!
Love, love, love the pewter whale ❤
Hey Jeff The Rose quartz is worth about 200,300 hundred dollars rose quartz keeps you

I think the little double handled tin bowl was for sitting that tea strainer in.
oops, I was wrong.
Love the pewter pieces.
