all of my teachers in my elementary couldnt "try to explain" algebra to me for years yet somehow i was able to learn it through watching like 3 videos.......... nobody ever mentioned PEMDAS.. . . .. . . .. .THANKS ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Thanks so much for this!! My teacher taught me this for a week and I still learnt nothing but when I watched your video I understood immediately:) tysm
Thank you for explaining this properly my teacher keeps on making our math class english class so I counldn't understand because she puts on very unimportant stuff in our lessons
Thank you for this video I really don't get it when my teacher is having lesson about this it has been weeks since I am solving this problem to compute now thanks to your video I know what is my teacher is saying Many of my classmates is very smart so our teacher have not notice me that I am struggling Again thank you
I am stuck with this question, What is the value of the polynomial expression when y = 4? - 3y³ + 2y² - 5y + 7 It's hard to see the squares but the first square is a 3 and the second square is a 2. I replaced all y with 4 but my answer was incorrect. Would you have a video for these expressions?
+Jennie Baez That's what you do, you replace all of you y's with a 4. You might have made a arithmetic error? -3(4)^3 +2(4)^2 - 5(4) + 7 = -3(64) + 2(16) - 5(4) + 7 = -192 + 32 - 20 +7 = -173
I followed what you did to see what I was doing wrong. When I got to the adding and subtracting that was where I was having problems. Then I added the two negative signs and kept the sign with the largest number -160 - 13 = -173 and got the same answer you got. So my signs were wrong. I was not adding. Thank you for your help.
I got the same answer except I don't understand why the exponents were not added. I got 18x^6 instead of what you put down 18x^3. Can you explain when we add the exponents and when we don't? thanks!
When we are adding polynomials, we can only add like terms. So 12x^3 + 6x^3, gave us 18x^3. The x^3 stays the same, we just add the coefficients. It's kind of like saying 6 apples plus 12 apples gives us 18 apples. This is only when we have like terms. 12x^3 + 6x isn't going to simplify. It's kind of like saying 12 apples plus 6 oranges. It's just 12 apples and 6 oranges. As far as adding exponents, that occurs when we multiply with like bases. So 2x * 3x^2 = 2 * 3 *x *x^2 = 6x^1+2 = 6x^3. In this case the base x is the same, so we add the exponents on each: 1 + 2: This gives us x^3. Hope this helps, you should watch tutorials on rules of exponents and combining like terms.
You're a great help! Well im trying to learn these things for my next school year but as far as i know, it's a new method of studying so yeahh that's kinda hard i guess Uhmm am i the only one watching this during this pandemic?
Lmao thank you so much My teacher explained for 1 hour and 30 mins and i didn’t even get what he said I keep on asking how to do it but i can’t understand it But you took 10 mins of explaining and i definitely understood every word every explanation you said Thank you very much
I normally don't hit the 'like' button in videos but you sir. Deserve it

I have a question I thought the only way you can multiply polynomials is by stacking them only???
He used "Distributive Property"
SSoHREZ ohhh now I got it 😄.
:))
Jonny Bravo ily
You can do that also, but usually we only do that when we first learn.
i am extremely greatful brotha thanks (:

Boi i pass on my quiz thank you
Perfect, glad to hear it! :)
How do I know which sign to use when carrying them over
You will use the sign rules for integers. Same signs give you a positive result, different signs give you a negative result.
So where does that parenthesis at 8:36 come from can some somebody explain that
The parentheses are being used to group together like terms. These will be the terms that can be combined (same variable raised to the same power).
what about when there are different variables
Same process is used. Give me an example and I will show you step by step.
i have a test in 20 mins thank you
Awesome, hope you passed! :)
at 2:37, how did it turn into 50x^2 where did the power of 2 come from?
-5x is multiplied by (-10x), this results in 50x^2
Example: (2x) multiplied by (4x ) equals 8x^2
Because theres two x
how did you get 50x²?
At 2:21 we multiply (-5x) * (-10x), which is 50x².
@@Greenemath Sorry, I forgot that you add the exponent when it is times and it is like terms.
Thx very much :)
