I love my Sony 40/2.5 too. Compact, versatile focal length and fast AF 😻
Seems like a very good lens indeed!
It's the best 35mm lens on the planet performance to weight to cost while also having immense visual character. I've used this lens on many assignments.
Almost 40k congrats 🔥
Did it!
Love your videos and your photography! I have sony a6000 and 7artisans 35mm manual. The quality is nothing compared to yours, but I didn't think that I will love shooting manual so much. It's great! Hello from Mexico City 🤘
I recently got this lens for myself after years without using my camera! Since I left the camera in the drawer I always thought that not having that crazy expensive but cute little lens was the problem. This kind of magical thought should end in disaster, but In this case, I nailed it! Loving my camera again. Although I still couldn't justify the brand new price and opted for the Samyang as the more reasonable purchase, as the compactness was the key, I got lucky and found one second-hand for 300€ in mint condition. One month in, super happy with it.
I'm still limited to a 52mm crop with my a6000, but if someday I jump on full frame, I believe that it will keep being my go-to lens. In the meantime I got a Ricoh GR III for a more wide option, finding recently that the combo 28-50mm suits me a lot better than having a zoom lens or just a 35mm. I'm now shooting and enjoying just going on an everyday walk making photos as I never did before, not just because of the new gear obviously, but thanks to your work and your videos
Great photos!
Great video! Thanks. Love my Samyang 35 mm.
Absolutely agree. This on an a7CR is a strong contender for my next set up if my Canon doesn't last.
Bulk is genuinely a barrier to good images for me sometimes. Especially in street photography where I have a dualistic feeling that I must quickly capture a moment because it will likely never happen again, and I will equally likely delete it because I'm sure a better version will come along. Often if my set up is too bulky I reach for my camera and just watch the moment pass, trying to philosophise if it's worth the hassle or if it's something to delete.
Maybe it's not a good frame of mind trying to constantly conclude if my present is deletable. 😂
Also, I love that filter solution. ✨
Thank you for changing Japan to a dramatic world.
I do recommend you this 35 and it’s brother 55 1.8 very compact with quality. thx for the captivating photos. 😊
I have the 50mm fe but I have heard so many good things about that 55
wow these are incredibly beautiful photo. nice video.
Many thanks!
Thanks for sharing of experience! I'm using Sony 35mm f1.8 (often for night shots) & Samyang 35mm f2.8 (for lazy walking days) paired with A7IV.
After almost a year of spending money on lenses like the 70-200 f4 and 20mm 1.8 when I started photography last June, one thing I regret is not having the simplicity of having one lens and after selling my 20mm 1.8 for a 35mm GM, that lens became my main work horse and has never left my camera body, so I decided to just sell my 70-200 (I was caught in with the hype of telephotos tbh) and I'm only bringing my a7ii and the 35mm 1.4 for my trip to Japan this May, no regrets.
35mm suits your style !! Personally I opted for the 40mm 2.5 as I prefer tighter framing ... It is compact and very sharp too
Did you give up on the Fuji X E4? If so why?
Thanks
If you are looking for a light lens for Sony in the 35mm focal length, I think the Sony f/1.8 is the better choice. Yes, kids bigger and heavier. But it’s still only 280g and it’s f/1.8. Extra 1.33 stops of light is very useful.
Amazing
I own this one for use on my A7c. I can say that I'm a little torn at the moment. I find it super-punchy with excellent contrast, good sharpness, and it's a great size & weight. However - I have a lot of overlap in my kit around the 35mm f2.8 mark, such that this is what I grab ONLY in the narrow circumstances when I don't want to compromise on FF advantages but do want my camera taking as little room as possible.
This on the a7C is basically the size of the X100, so that's a big boost for it. I'd probably end up never taking it off, because I hate hauling around heavy gear. 😂
Hi Adrien, any thoughts on the Sony 35mm f1.8 compared to the Zeiss 2.8 ?
I would go for the Sony Zeiss Sonnar 35mm 2.8 T* ZA because of the compact size and the low weight, I have this little wonderful Lens and can recommend it.
Catching up on your videos. Moved to Kyoto and I just got internet. Love the pictures in this one.
Nice! Let’s meet up once 👍🏻
@@adriensanguinetti I'll contact you on Instagram 👍🏻
Nice video, but I was actually just as impressed by the guy's English. The vocabulary level and sophistication of his English are better than 90% of native speakers in America, who often sound totally uneducated. :D
Yet again some amazing shots. That baby is so cuutttee ^^
After 10 years of buy and sell and buy big heavy zoom lens i sold all to buy ricoh gr3 for daily snap, sony a7c and 3 fix lens cz 352.8, cz551.8 and 851.8. And i think that is all i want for my photography.
Hell yeahh
do you think the 35mm is significantly different from 40 mm? I was wondering changing from 40mm to 35rmm/f2.8 but also afraid that 5mm actually doesn't change that much
I was thinking adapting 35/2.8 on zf to substitute the Nikon 40mmf2
There are not much difference from a 40 to a 35mm Lens, about 5 to 8 degrees in angle, but I like that little extra that the 35mm Lens gives, no doubt that the 40mm also is a good focal length,
40 is also good but it’s approximately 10% tighter than 35 so not significant but it is noticeable
What about the samyang 35mm 1.8 how does that do compared with these lenses. Still has the same isuues like the 2.8 version? I am just asking because it is stii cheaper than the sony zeiss 2.8
I was asking myself the exact same question
Ther is a very good reason that it`s cheaper, its no good.
Oops I was speaking about the SONY 35MM F1.8
I got the Sony Carl Zeiss Sonnar 35mm 2.8 T* ZA Lens for US $215 (taxes included), I like that is so well build, compact and light weight, you will always have space for it in a bag or a pocket !
@@cameraprepper7938 I got it new when it was first introduced for 700 eur, price does not matter, it`s what you do with it.
Used prices became very good. Got my zeiss 35mm in good condition for 260€. Amaizing value for the money imo.
I got one for 200 Euros ! In fact I bought two, one for me and one for a friend.
Where did you find that? Best used prices I can find are still around 400€ at which point I'll just save up and get a new one.
At this price it’s unbeatable
Another option could be the viltrox 35mm f1.8! It falls between the sony and samyang in terms of price and offers more stops
Bro all these edited photos raw or jpg format?
RAW and editied ;)
Fujifilm X100VI or Sony A7IV + 35 2.8 ?
Sony I guess. Maybe even better with a a7cii ;)
can we please get more ricoh gr 3 videos
Hey Adrien, I'm really inspired by your set-up. I want to know what ND filter you use for your new lens? Maybe leave an affiliate link if possible? 😅 Thank you!
It's really a 10USD filter so I don't think it is worth it ^^'
@@adriensanguinetti thanks for letting me know, I'll look around for others. Thank you!
The Sony is much better, it beats the samyang on everything, the samyang looks really cheap in comparison.
It doesn`t have the zeiss pop and washed out brownish colors, i`ve tried it once some time ago and didn`t like it at all.
Great comparison and i do think the sony is better. In my case ive bought the samyang 35mm 2.8 second hand for 100euro and thats way cheaper vs sony 35 2.8 second hand(which goes for about 300euro)
I got a used Sony Carl Zeiss Sonnar 35mm 2.8 T* ZA for 200 Euros and it will last longer than a 100 Euros Samyang !
This lens was a gem to me as well. Ima try it out on my A7RIV
every time i see your surname i instantly think of "blood spaghetti"
im still wondering what did it actually change haha
I think it's a great lens, but I tend to run away with faster lenses. It's not a good thing.
Why?
what do you mean run away?
@@photomorti It is to assume that a larger blur will make a better picture when you find it difficult to compose it.
@@nex3movie Ah yeah true. Im trying to rely less on bokeh to make interesting photos and try to get better at getting actually interesting compositions where everything is in focus/.
@@photomortiI don’t like be hung up on either artistic choice. I prefer the faster lens, so I have both options available to me.
If you shoot a lot 35 mm, wouldn't the Fuji X100 series be a good choice for you?
This Sony lens on a FF camera is going to produce higher IQ not to mention much faster autofocus (if that's needed).
The lens on the
X100 cameras is the weakest link in the camera.
35mm focal length is great for photography on a full frame Camera ! I do not like cheap made Lenses like the Samyang, so I have the excellent Voigtländer APO-Lanthar 35mm 2.0 Aspherical which are build like a tank and it have outstanding optical image quality ! I also have the Sony Carl Zeiss Sonnar 35mm 2.8 T* ZA which is a great Lens with good build quality, compact and light weight, I got it used for US $215 (taxes included), so absolutely no reason to buy a flimpsy cheap made Lens like the Samyang !
It depends on the deals you can find but I will defend the Samyang forever. I took a lot of pictures I love with that lens 👍🏻
@@adriensanguinetti I will never buy a Lens in so low build quality, I would rather buy a better used Lens or wait until I can buy a better one.
Did it really CHANGE EVERYTHING? Easy on the clickbait.
A good, lightweight lens can change your whole perspective and reignite immense passion for photography. I had the same effect with my 40mm f2.5. So even if the title sounds clickbaity, it is probably true.
@@LeonardDrache my point is the title selection, it's cringe, it's over done, it's tiring.
@@pawel8365 I cannot relate to your opinion. I like adriens work and content and I believe that he has every right to choose titles that maximize his reach and growth, as long as they are relevant.
The algorithm necessitates titles like this in order to get people to watch so that your videos get picked up and pushed out. Take it up with UA-cam not the creator 🤷🏻♂️
@@LeonardDrache ok buddy, if you enjoy unoriginal content that's found on 90% of photography channels that's fine (search for "changed my life" with regards to photography), but many are tired of the same formulaic slop created by zoomers: lofi beats, monotone voice and 10 minutes of drawn out exposition.
