Just in the camera shots were George Harrison, three-quarters of Booker T. & the MG's, G.E. Smith and Jim Keltner. And George looks and sounds so alive and energized by the whole scene. Magical.
This is my new favorite video. I wish George had recorded more songs like this. I’ve been feeling nostalgic lately, thinking how much I miss this brilliant, thoughtful man.
George was such a sincere and humble fan - he rocked it out for Bob with more conviction and fun than he would do for some of his own (great!) material. Another example is the Perkins tribute.
Two drummers? Who said they could have two drummers!?1 George's delivery of the song was off the hook and GE Smiths guitar work smoked! Stellar band all the way around.
G.E Smith band leader for SNL on guitar. He was Bob Dylan’s guitarist in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and musical director of Dylan's 30th anniversary career celebration concert in 1992.
My favorite version of Sweet Marie - am appreciating George's career after The Beatles and his performances with Bob Dylan thanks to UA-cam. Love watching the Travelling Wilburys videos - they were the TRUE Supergroup of all time.
Fitting as George along with John, Paul & Ringo changed after their meeting with Dylan! Plus Dylan was a member of George’s The Travelling Wilburys. I don’t cares who you are musician ship wise or what genre you play, if you’re not fascinated by Bob Dylan you’re lame, PLUS if Harrison covering a Dylan classic that like most of Dylan’s song’s weren’t a single doesn’t captivate you, Good Luck!
Well, your railroad gate, you know I just can't jump it Sometimes it gets so hard, you see I'm just sitting here, beating on my trumpet With all these promises you left for me But where are you tonight, Sweet Marie? Well, I waited for you when I was a-half sick Yes, I waited for you when you hated me Well, I waited for you inside of the frozen traffic When you knew I had some other place to be Now, where are you tonight, Sweet Marie? Well, anybody can be just like me, obviously But then, now again, not too many can be like you, fortunately Well, six white horses that you did promise Were finally delivered down to the penitentiary But to live outside the law, you must be honest I know you always say that you agree Alright, so where are you tonight, Sweet Marie? Well, I don't know how it happened But the river-boat captain, he knows my fate But everybody else, even yourself They're just gonna have to wait Well, I got the fever down in my pockets The Persian drunkard, he follows me Yes, I can take him to your house, but I can't unlock it You see, you forgot to leave me with the key Ah, where are you tonight, Sweet Marie? Well, I've been in jail, where all the mail showed That a man can't give his address out to bad company And now I stand here, lookin' at your yellow railroad In the ruins of your balcony Wondering where you are tonight, Sweet Marie
the following tour of neils greaes hits with booker and the band was one of tneils prominent role in this and the booker and his band as the backup band for everyone was one of my top top shows i've seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
El solo de Guitarra extraordinario ... al estilo de George . Y yo q pensaba q George era el q tocaba . Me parece q el guitarrista principal tocaba en la nacida de Hall @Oates.
I love how George is putting on a Dylan accent…!
Fabulous Dylan song
George Harrison was not from this planet, such a pure soul. This performance is totally moving and full of joy.
Hare Krishna 🎉❤😊🫒🌼🫒

I might be biased but I think George stole the show that night ❤

George Harrison lives on in his music and, beautiful lyrics. Not to mention being one of the greatest influences of any kid who picks up a guitar.
Anything Paul can do i.... 🎵
he has done a couple more of songs of dylan, look for them, they are great versions
@@maurodelmar7240 Thanks. I think I have all of them. I just hadn’t seen this video before I commented. Great collaboration though.

Damn I wish they could isolate George's rhythm guitar during that amazing interaction with those artists
Traveling Wilbury "prequel", amazing! R.I.P. George
Great version of a great song from a great artist.

Much respect. You can just tell GH is putting in Dylan inflections with love.
Steve Cropper...always happy to sit in the background. Always a treat to hear.

To live outside the law, you must be honest.......
Absolutely Sweet George! He's so in his element with this song. ❤️
Ohh George - we still miss you 🌈🙏🎸
Brilliant version, brilliant George.
Well, your railroad gate, you know I just can't jump it
Sometimes it gets so hard, you see
I'm just sitting here, beating on my trumpet
With all these promises you left for me
But where are you tonight, Sweet Marie?
Well, I waited for you when I was a-half sick
Yes, I waited for you when you hated me

Well, anybody can be just like me, obviously
But then, now again, not too many can be like you, fortunately
Well, six white horses that you did promise
Were finally delivered down to the penitentiary
But to live outside the law, you must be honest
I know you always say that you agree
Alright, so where are you tonight, Sweet Marie?
Well, I don't know how it happened
But the river-boat captain, he knows my fate
But everybody else, even yourself
They're just gonna have to wait
Well, I got the fever down in my pockets
The Persian drunkard, he follows me
Yes, I can take him to your house, but I can't unlock it
You see, you forgot to leave me with the key

Wondering where you are tonight, Sweet Marie
Thanks dude

Imagine being de Smith and that interaction. Jeezy All nailed it so good
The shock of the beating on the trumpet at the time made the song Ring so true
And they nailed it
AMAZING!

Eterno George Harrison👏👏👍🇬🇧🇺🇸.
