These lights are definitely an investment. They are beautiful and the quality looks high. I honestly don’t know if I can justify the price to myself over the spiderfarm or marshydro but I would love to hear an update down the line.

I would hope they would be top notch with that kind of price tag. I saw another plant youtuber post about them too and I was kinda taken back by them. I feel like a lot of people can’t afford just one of those no matter how amazing they may be.

If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you pay for the Florida Beaufy cutting? I’m only asking because the nursery I went to had quite a few of them, maybe a 6” rooted plant for 30. Is that a good buy? because I saw them weeks ago and I can’t stop thinking about her! I want to go back and get one but if they’re gone i’m gonna be so upset 😭
@@marymiller5824 I'm from the UK so prices are probably different. Here cuttings go anything between £150 to 300 only private sellers 😔 When I've seen my top cutting for £130 I had to have her! The variegation was the most beautiful I've ever seen on one for sale! It's an early Christmas present 🎁 🥰

I have been looking into getting grow lights for the first time. I hate the pink coloured lights so it's been difficult trying to find more of a natural light. I am going to look these up now. Thanks Fern.
I love the innovation of these, finally lights you can stand on the floor or table etc, the price is a bit eye watering, but I much prefer them to the type you have to try and hang or install.

I was thinking about it, but it actually does get some sun when it's sunny out so I haven't covered the glass... yet. Maybe one day I will, but I really do enjoy seeing the natural light come through occasionally.

It looks great Fern! My plants grow so fast in mine that now I cannot fit that many in my cabinet! The only option I have to keep my high humidity plants is to buy more cabinets and grow tents. I really like the Mother lights! Thanks for the video!

Just got these lights Feen. I got the set up for the top of a glass table…. it looks like your base, the two sides, are longer than mine. I thought I could put my Monstera Aurea underneath it 😢 but I may have to use it just as a single standing light
I hope you’re able to find a way to make it work!! You’re right though, they aren’t very tall. I mostly have small plants under it.

I was looking for some growlights to add at home. I had a look at Mother and placed an order for a couple and also a homeforest set up. Only after completing the order, I found out they are located at less than 10km from my home 😊. It’s a small world, I guess. Thanks for sharing the info.

I guess it depends on how the electricity price is set in Canada. But led lights are known for being bill-friendly.
From one plant lady to another, I am well jealous of your new set up. The plants definitely appear to be thriving so really looking forward to more updates. Not sure if we can get these in the UK but I will be looking. I can't get an Ikea plant cabinet for love or money as they are never in stock but I have found some nice shelving units that come with covers so will probably have to settle for those (and I have put them on my xmas list, lol). oh, seeing your philodendron brazil has made me way less anxious about the few very strongly lightest color leaves I've had come in.
yes it's just fine! I've heard the new growth can be really light, but then over time it gets the more traditional looking leaves and that has definitely been true for mine.

@@gpowell87 She makes her moss poles with the black netting. The coir and self watering poles she didn’t make but the ones in black lattice type material she makes her self. I know she gets that material in some type of like hardware/home improvement store. For her I think a Canadian Tire but in the US you could find it at Lowe’s, etc

I know you said your plants love the lights, but were those plants in a controlled humidity environment like that before or had any other addition light? So, could it be a mixture of both? I know my plants love any added light too. Just feel like it’s a huge investment (especially for my collection) and would love to see if you had a spectrum reader to see the difference between some of your grow lights! Especially because I can’t find much other about the sustainability plan aside from the aluminum and LED. Not about how their workers are treated, where it’s all made, sourced or their emissions from producing the lights and shipping or how they counteract that. I guess when I hear sustainable I think about all those too.

Hey Cassie! Most of the plants were previously in regular household conditions, no humidifier or grow lights. So moving them to the high humidity of the cabinet has definitely helped as well, I'm sure. A spectrum reader is definitely a good idea, and I am interested in getting one as well so maybe I will pick one up. Those are definitely great questions regarding the sustainability, I totally agree with you there. I will see if I can glean any information regarding them. Thanks so much for watching!

It's just a cactus mix, I bought it from a local shop so I'm not sure what it all consists of but it looks like a lot of pumice.

Yes I do!! I haven't really had pests in my cabinets (*knock on wood*)... except for an instance of mites, but I am pretty sure they were just soil mites due to the high humidity.
