Hi Guys, check out my latest trip to my local car auction where I visit to collect some stock I recently purchased, we take a look around the vehicles purchased and also visit the sale on the day to bid on some vehicles

I live in rural North Yorkshire next to the Moors National Park - that Suzuki and its FIAT counterpart is golden stock around here. Every body thinks the people who own horses or are farmers drive Chelsea tractors. Not a chance will any of them drive a £60k 4x4 and wreck it. If you have horses - or a small holding - that Suzuki and early Panda 4x4's are where its at. Hard to sell a farmer a new truck - as long as they have a welder and access to red the Defender or 110 will be used forever.
In fact the only interloper seems to be the Dacia Duster 4x4 Access - cheap - early ones have rubber mats - diesels can be run on red and the absence of a/c or a decent stereo is not an issue
I love the auction videos. It's almost like being there but sadly without the breakfast. 😄Crazy how you can spend a day at the auction and struggle to pick up anything and yet next time come away with four nice bits of stock. Then to top it off, you drop in on the off chance and bag a bargain with that Zafira. It's totally random!

what does amuses me (being foreign in the uk) how most dealers are so hooked up on the looks/paintwork even on older cars. where i come from thar is the least of the issue other than rust few paintchips and dents aare not a big problem, as long as the car is mecanically sound. in the end its a metal box which needs to take u places, not to look nice :D

Good description & examples of your business. It’s a bit heart in mouth: will they start? Drive OK? Any gremlins to Hoover up the small potential profit per car?
I can appreciate that, on small things, the business can turn. All those cars you won, I could see myself buying for one of my kids when they were younger. I’m not too proud to own & drive any of them myself.
The Dacia will be worth more than the Ranger Rover next to it in the next 12 months. Some decent value there with those purchases.

Yes it is, I have been bitten with a couple of them to be honest, both with the 1.6 diesel engines fitted. just bad luck really as they are just focus underneath it all
some good pickups there good to see the cheaper cars are still available

I like the Mazda....huge Mazda 6 fan OR WAS....had an 09 plate Estate..best car iv'e ever driven..but lasted three weeks...the rear suspension collapsed ..the whole rear subframe was rotten......ended up scrapping it as cost to much to repair....would i have a other one....yes i would , but i would check underneath first

I'm not a fan of diesels as a rule but that little Sandero could have tempted me, great little cars, I'm no badge snob, well worth the money.
Brilliant value I thought, just sent it away to have some paint touched in, was going to just leave it but well worth making right on a 15 plate
Any 7 seaters are good news bud, I always sell em St away, zafiras are very popular, just usual problems, petrol ones seem to burn oil when there a bit leggy, had a few 6 speeds with bad boxes.

Excellent bit of stock lee, always have a soft spot for an Astra H loved my 58 Elite 1.9cdti , wish with covid id kept it at least another 6 months , might have got £4/500 but sold it Xmas before lockdown.

Don't think I've ever heard you say the word 'beautiful' or 'beeoodiful' so much on a video... The Dacia Sandero! 😂
Fun fact: An old colleague had a customer on the pitch looking for an inexpensive small hatchback that wouldn't cost the earth to run. He recommended a Dacia Sandero he'd just taken in, but the old boy replied that no, no, he didn't want any of this cheap foreign crap. He bought a Clio instead. My mate chose not to mention that they were pretty much the same car. Thought that was hilarious.
With that in mind, how about making a video about some of the funny customer stories you've had over the years. You must have some, and it would make very good viewing.

Zafiras are great (I may be biased).
Mazda alloys famous for rotting, but really bonnie car for the price, but wheel refurb would really make it shine.
Yes, must get them redone, the guy I use does it part time as a hobby but is very good and affordable 👍
I bought a Mazda 3 1.6 last year, similar age to this car - its a brilliant runabout - but you are spot on with the wheels, the only thing I had to sort out was the alloys which were rotten, I was advised to go for all black as they would look brand new and to be fair they to - but due to the age of the car I am not particularly bothered on how it looks. I paid 3.2k in a private sale last year, 90k mile on the clock, mine is a 1.6 TS2 which means it has a couple of more extra features than the one in this video. You should easily get over 3k for this one.

The zafira seems like a bargain, will be interesting to see how much you sell it for and how quickly as I would of thought those 7 seaters are in demand, especially if sub £3k

Great video bud, that up was OK, I gave 2600 for a 63 plate, so 2900 all done, 129k,got 3 and a half, about 4 mths ago.

@@carukchannel went in a couple of days, very popular, they moaned about 2 mths later tho, saying battery was flat, I said I'd fit one at cost and they didn't like that, i didn't make that much so didn't feel like treating them too much, it was starting in the mornings for them so maybe lights were left one, anyway for me a battery is part of running a car, got another 63 plate one, it's coming up throttle body fault, went for a drive and had to limp back foot flat down at 10 mph.
no chance, £2600 (actually £2900 all in)for a non euro 6 is madness.
@@bigmacntings7451 that's what your paying bud for 63 plate Ups at auction, then it's mot, paint and a service, so not much in it, I actually took 3400 for it, so slim pickings, cheaper, small cars are going up.
The badly dented sill would have put me off.
That Dacia is an awful lot of car for the money but on the day I recon the breakfast voucher beat it by a whisker 😁

I blame the auctions going online,too many bidders who don't have a clue on real value,and just as ignorant on the mechanics so buy not even seen.
auction houses don't care,they are there to shift a product and get the best percentage, but when I was going years ago,you always knew you were in for an expensive night if you saw lots of people with parkers guides in their hands.
clientele mostly glass' then you would get a fair deal.
