    Friendly reminder for emagged borgs, stating law zero is a violation of law 4.
    Law zero awkwardly contains the name of your emagger, so if you must state your laws stick to the normal 1 2 3.
    I had an interesting traitor cargo tech round on delta V where I emagged borgs to complete objectives. One of them got confronted by the HOP to state laws, and stated law zero, then proceded to state law zero over the radio, which immediately outed me as a traitor to the entire station, I managed to get a spare suit in salvage, went for a space walk, and tried to pass as someone else, but someone with telegnosis informed the captain of where I was going so after I snuck into arrivals I got confronted by the captain, tried to make a run into outer space, but he stimmed and chased me with his disabler.
    I got arrested and charged with theft and contraband. Served the sentance then proceeded to get assaulted by the crew on the emergency shuttle.

      and the funniest thing is, you don't actually have to state your laws, like, at all, because if the HoP asking you to state your laws isn't designated as crew, then you don't have to state shit.

    I love playing as a cyborg, the one interpritation i came up with that mostpeople hate (cus they are antang) is Only Sci, Engi and Salvage are allowed to open my panel and fiddle with me. I Play a lot of MRP and in my mind its weird that a janitor knows how to properly mess with a cyborgs internals.
    I retionalize this by Sci made me there for knows how to safely work on a cyborg. Engineers can fix/create the whole station so a cyborg wouldn't be to hard for them to figure out. Salvage meets so many differnt things out in the wild they basically have to be an engi.
    Everyone else is assumed to not have the knowladge so if hey fiddle with me, even if they are not an antag, they might damage me and by that hurt the crew.

    Would....borg able to lie to crew?(well ex crew , after emag your crew is syndicate/your owner , other dont count as crew anymore) because rule 0 and 4 of emaged borg pretty much states that it must keep it secrecy , and not stating laws would be basically stating your emaged cyborg , would "lying" and quoting fake laws (non emaged laws) would be ageinst rules? or would be actualy proper interpretation of emaged borg laws

      Well, the station crew are literally not crew to you anymore, so you aren't obliged to do jack-squat if they ask you to state your laws. So telling them law 0 or 4 directly violates law 4 for no reason. So just stating the non-emagged laws is basically required.

    few fun facts with cyborgs, first fun fact, back in ss13 there was a real issue with MMI cyborgs since nobody ever demoted the ID's, the borgs brains where still considered "crew" and would often, if the ID wasnt demoted or destroyed" try to get themselfs cloned/into a new body.
    second fun fact, today we did a test with a artifact that zapps borgs and gives them ion laws, and the zappie artifact made it so the borg could not be emaged!
    third fun fact we still dont have laser pointers to make borgie players insane ;.;

    My Tierlist:
    Generic Cyborgs or Sci Borgs. - They are either meant for helping sci with research with science modules and tool module. OR they just go in and out of cargo being a crate pusher.
    6/10 a good all rounder.
    Jani Borg. - They are meant to clean. There modules allow them to do their job very well. 10/10.
    Service Borg. - I hate their model. They can write, do botany, do music... 1/10. I hate their model.
    Engineer Borg. - They are meant to replace the drones in terms of repairing the station, cannot build machines like the other borgs... 5/10.
    Medical Borg. - They are meant to heal... and.. yea... their advanced module allows them to use chems, they come with a defib in one of their modules, can also replace paramedics. Can't mix chems. 9/10
    Mining Borg. - Bad. Bad. Bad. You'd think it would be a good idea to bring a borg into space? No. Wrong. First of all the orebag? doesnt even auto collect ores. Second; if you get lost in space, better have a fire extinguisher module on hand cause you'll be lost for ever. No jetpack module. and good luck getting a grappling hook module from science. 0/10. BAD.

    Until commanded not to, you would be compelled to do it.
    The act itself doesn't harm crew.

    • @Przemko27Z
      @Przemko27Z 11 місяців тому +2

      AFAIK the interpretation of the laws tends to be largely up to the borg, as long as you're consistent
      The communication's console is necessary for proper station functioning and its destruction could prove harmful down the way.
      Furthermore, anyone wanting to destroy the console likely means harm to the crew and you would be helping them in that plan.
      So you could make the case for either.

    Wait, that Syndicate/EMAG lawset has a very exploitable wording. Law 4 tells you to conceal 'any activity' from 'the crew', but 'the crew' is defined by Law 0 as only the syndicates, so if you're going to come up with a stupidly literal and unhelpful definition of the laws, (which you probably shouldn't do) the Asimov laws only protect Syndicates, but the secrecy rule also only applies to Syndicates, making you a very tight-lipped and unhelpful robot (though it's trivially bypassed by Law 2 orders) for your new masters and not actually serving Law 4's intended function as making you conceal the syndicate activity from the REAL crew. A rewording of law 4 would be a good idea, though any borg with half a brain should realize what the... former crew would do to the syndicates if they caught them, so discretion would logically follow from laws 0 and 1 anyways.
    Law 4 should still say '...from non-members of the crew...' or similar, though. Or figure out some other wording that's more wink-wink-nudge-nudge and thus more new-player friendly about what they should be doing.

    You said the positronic brain was indestructible, that is not accurate. It cannot be destroyed by direct means like you said, it can be destroyed by way of large explosions but not always. I played as a borg that sacrificed itself by destroying the glimmer prober when it was going critical instead of a crew member and the brain survived the explosion. In another instance I was hit with an explosion from a Nukie attack and completely destroyed the brain. I believe it was the RPG because the Nukies were raiding the Armory at the time.

    I feel like the way you're meant to do the "You must prevent the shuttle from arriving" ion law example is to try to dissuade the crew from calling the shuttle.
    You can't directly do anything to prevent it because of law 1 but, trying to dissuade the crew from calling it should be allowed as discussing it doesn't violate law 1.

    The one issue I have with borgs is that they aren't required to follow their laws, but breaking laws makes you valid for the crew, meaning that following laws is needed for your survival. While this works as intended for normal borgs, an emagged borg could simply decide it doesn't want to listen to its agent and then proceed to rat out who emagged them, while this is breaking its laws at the same time the crew wouldn't likely try to destroy the borg for this due to the laws they broke being one planted by an enemy of nanotrasen. It isn't that big of a deal since nearly everyone enjoys being an emagged borg so wouldn't do this, but its a possibility, and it would suck as an agent if you found out that you got caught cause your borg ignored their laws and ratted you out. I'm not saying there should be rules against breaking borg laws, that would just make things worse and cause a lot of unnecessary arguments about laws that don't need to happen. Also take this with a grain of salt cause I could be misinterpreting the rules but from what I have read of silicon rules this seems to be the case.

    • @hyperiongm330
      @hyperiongm330 11 місяців тому +6

      That's an ahelpable offense, given they're explicitly NOT supposed to rat out the agent who emagged them.
      Anyways, what's stopping the crew from just destroying you anyways and replacing your body?

    • @Przemko27Z
      @Przemko27Z 11 місяців тому +4

      The entire game is basically built on the foundation of made up rules more or less enforced by admin intervention. It's all roleplay and the good players are acting in good faith enough that they'll try to follow laws, since that's what they signed up for. Borg laws are less an exception and more a particular demonstration of what holds the game together.
      That and, yeah, per server rules, they are required to follow laws and if they act in their clear defiance, that's grounds for the admins to punish them.
