Why does everyone always say, “caniks are nice, for the money”? To me, generally, they are awesome handguns, period! I like my smith and Wesson’s, my ruger, and my glock 17, but… I like my caniks more. Accurate and reliable, with superior triggers out of the box to the majority of other striker-fired pistols, and still cheaper. Owning a canik is a no brainer if you want a quality gun that’ll run seemingly forever.
Adding "for the money" makes it seem like it's good for that price range. I think even if it was Glock prices and didn't have the "for the money" attached to it, it would still be a great gun.
I know seriously, it’s either a great gun or it’s not PERIOD. Adding in for the money seems to be diminishing of what they really are. For crying out loud people it’s a NATO certified pistol built in an ISO 9001 factory. Who else can say that?

Picked up a Canik SFT last week. Ive shot handguns, rifles, shotguns all my life but never owned a handgun. I always said I wanted one so I started the research. Im surprised Canik is not a bigger name. Ansolutely love this Canik.

I saw one of the Mete SFX pistols in my local shop a few weeks ago and I snagged it immediately! I’ve owned a regular TP9SF for a few years now, and I absolutely love it. The Mete SFX is definitely a step up from the normal TP9 as far as performance and accuracy goes. They make some damn good pistols across the board. Fun fact: the slide from my normal TP9SF fits the Mete frame and cycles by hand, but not vice versa. Not sure that I’ll fire live ammo with the swapped slide, but it seems like it could. 🤔 However I don’t want to be the one to test that theory and potentially break one half of two different pistols ha! I have METE SFX and the TP9 Sf elite, WOW. Ergonomics and trigger is phenomenal. Accuracy is more consistent than my glocks. Buy it and shoot them without buying accessories that should have been on the pistols to start with. 🤨Glock great but not close.
I own a Sig and a Canik. The Sig never leaves the house and I wear the METE SFT 10 hours a day. I also own the SFX and love these things. The downside is that I can no longer find anything that fits my needs as well as my Caniks. My years of searching for a better gun may be over. Nothing, and I mean nothing fits my hand or shoots as well for me as my META. Even the budget Caniks are great guns. I wouldn't trade my mine for any Glock on the market unless I had a buyer for the Glock. I'm not raining on Glock. They have a well earned reputation for a reason. They also have a trigger like a BBQ grill lighter.

I agree 100%. I actually EDC a Glock 30 S . I replaced the plastic sights with Glock Night Sights ( metal). I was lucky to get my Gen 3 at the LEO rate. This was in 2012. Not a GLOCK FAN BOY. My 30S is the only Glock I have every owned. I choose it because I am rough on my handguns and Glock has stood up to my rough handling. My Canik stable consist of a V2 and SC. The V2 I have owned for six years. No complaint as at all. The SC is slowly working her way into my EDC rotation. She is my first Optic pistol and this " Ole Marine" is spoiled by the addition of an optic on a Carry Pistol. Range sessions are boring with that optic. None of us wanted ton admit our body's degrading but my eyes are horrible now. That Red Dot is a game change on a 4.2 inch barreled Sub Compact. 25 yard head shots are easy day for these old eyes. Pablo thanks for saying what many of us feel about Glock. I carry one but wouldn't at the prices they want for them compared to other available pistols.

I chose it because compared to the other pistols I was looking at I just loved the trigger and it felt more comfortable in my hands than guns that are twice the price. Then my friend who owns probably 100 guns told me caniks are garbage and I should return it lol
Got mine online for 435 (405 beans still available at that + 15 shipped + 15 FFL fee). If it proves to be reliable, it's the best gun under $600. I mean, I can make a G19 really great, but it's gonna cost me $800-$900. So this appears to be a great gun and a great value (not just as Shay points out, "for the money").
I purchased the sfx mete last year and I've put over a thousand rounds through it and finished in the top 5 spots in competition. Won a few also. There's nothing I could change about it. I've out shot many Glocks. The new number one 9mm is the Canik TP9 SFX..No need to argue with me about it. Wanna do something. Prove me wrong
Why does everyone knock down the holster that comes with caniks? It's a damn good holster for how much you pay for the whole package, I played with my holster and made it into an iwb holster and back to owb. Everything that comes with the gun is badass buy one and find out for yourself!
"Dam good" is an exaggeration. I have been making kydex holsters for 13years. My first holsters I ever attempted looked like these. Ps. I have done several Canik videos. I own two mete's how did you think I knew the holster sucked. You saw me un box one in the video lol. What do you mean to buy one?
@rdrgear You can't buy a canik holster so what do you think I meant, maybe buy a canik in general because every canik comes with a holster and if a canik is your first firearm then yes the holster is damn good for your first holster. IT WORKS!

I just ordered the SFx! Can't wait for it to come in. A new toy to play with. I have no plans to EDC it ever. Good informative video. You are beautiful to look at, but I want to see more of the gun case contents as I wait for mine to come in. You might consider changing the camera angle with respect to the gun case if your accepting constructive critic. It's hard to see the contents most of the time. Also, you pull the trigger at 6:24-25 with your left palm completely covering the muzzle. I would edit that out for nebbies safety, like me. I blew a hole in my bedframe once doing that with a Beretta M9, a ND on my part putting it away, my fault completely, but no one got hurt. Stay safe! Good video and I am no expert.
I have the elite combat, and it was easily the best pistol I've ever owned, until I got the Mete. The Mete is on par with the elite mechanically, but with better ergonomics. It's kind of mind blowing how Canik just keeps getting better with every new model.
IMHO that Combat Executive Elite is the most gorgeous pistol in the TP9 series. I am in the market for another pistol and have narrowed it to; Combat Executive Elite METE SF CZ 07, 09 or Phantom Great video and presentation.

I just bought one and didn't even get a single round thru it b4 it failed! Day I got it I ran some snap cap dry fire runs and the slide began to fail to go into battery. Steal shavings in the slide. Sending it back. Hope they can replace it!
Previous Caniks were nice for the money but Mete is just another level, it literally beats everything stock!! Sure, we have a lot of aftermarket options and build way better guns but anybody cares to explain why we have to do it and spend a lot of money while Canik offers it from factory??...
Great timing! I’m going Monday to fill my last permit. I don’t live in a free state and limited to 10rounds so I’ve been looking for a good range/home defense pick. I have the g19 and g17 and your p365xl video saved me on buying the Romeo Zero. Thank you for that! The g48 looks great too but I’m not sold on anything yet.
When i first opened the box i though the mini gun wrench was a little bb gun lol. Love this gun tho, wasn't expecting something so attention grabbing (i have the arctic distressed color), but almost anyone who sees it has to come check it out and they become instant fans. I don't even have to mention how accurate it is or how easy it is to clean, or how you can almost fit a box of ammo in 2 mags
I find it funny when people complain about the FREE holsters. Sure, they suck compared to a Kydex holster that you'd spend $100 on. Of course they aren't that good. But they're there, and they get you going.
I’m 80, so ease of racking the slide is paramount. I realize this is difficult to measure except subjectively or relatively. I have sold my Glocks and Walther. Hammer fired Sigs are usable and CZs are marginally usable. Would you address this problem for your olderaudience please?
Hi there, I am about to by my first gun and of course I have fell in love with Canik pistols. I think I would go for the Canik METE, but, watching this video I woul like to ask a question. What would be a better option Canik METE fst or Canik METE sfx?
I have also wondered which one would be a better choice between the two. If you have the option to try them out at the range, that would be my suggestion. See which is more pleasant to shoot (if there is a difference to you) and which is more accurate for you.
A lot of mete SFT’s for sale online for $410-$450 plus shipping and ffl fees. For what you get it really is a bargain. Caniks are fun to shoot. Super accurate at long with a range with a red dot. Case comes with everything you need to get started including a take down punch, cheap reversible holster, and red dot plates. I wish all guns came with all the goodies canik included. Just know that it’s a big full-size gun, so not everyone would want to attempt to conceal this. And they are slightly higher bore and not as much of a grip angle as a Glock, which might matter to some. Still rocks!

would this be a good choice for everyday carry? I have narrowed it down to Glock, sig, and can. Canik is really starting to take my heart. I wish I could shoot them to see how they feel, but sadly I do not have the opportuinty to do that.

What can you recommend in a hammer fired pistol under $500 that is a value and reliable? Maybe something like a Girsan Regard model or SAR B6 ?? Or ... ???
Bersa TPR9. 17 rounds, hammer, all metal, trigger reset that puts the sig srt in the corner in timeout. Its.a cz75 derivative gun. Reliable a.f. totally under the radar. Its a hidden diamond.
What is wrong with the holster that comes with it? I have one an almost sold it because it wasn't that impressive. I have the ( V2) and it shoots just as well as my METE SFT. Not sure what after market holsters are available but it probelry will fit Walther holsters, I would guess.
Does this feel any different than shooting an Elite SC? Seems like it wouldn't be. Same exact trigger. Same style of grips. Outside of a collectors mindset it seems redundant for an SC owner
We don’t offer a Holste yet for the Canik. But belts we have. Visit the rdrgear.com website. The buckle-less edc belt is a great option. And belts are on sale.
What I don't like is all the UA-cam people who demo and comment on Canik or influencers that may eventually drive the prices up on what was once a hidden gem.
So how have you tested other pistols as “bet your life”on guns? In most cases the Pistol needs to fire 3-6 rounds. What type testing do you want. What gun are you carry today? Thanks for the comment.
@@rdrgear I agree that a gun might only need to fire 8 rounds to save my life. But then again it might not have to fire at all. I hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Canik have some AMAZING features. The price and triggers are off the top of my head things I love. But I have owned 2 models. Tp9sf elite one series, and the old tp9sfx. The sfx I dropped quickly because you lose the rear sight. Now do I need the rear sight? Maybe not, but once again I hope for the best but prepare for the worst. The tp9sf elite one series I had extractor issues within less than 2k rounds. So I gave it up just because. Sample size not very large I get it. Nevertheless that doesn't bode well for a company that is new and trying to make a name for themselves. I appreciate your opinion, and I'm sure you've seen more examples than me, that's why I value it. But at the same time you'll never convince me otherwise after my own experiences. I've had glocks with extractor issues as well. .you no longer lose the rear sight on the mete, red dot applications. .I've had caniks and shot the hell out of them with no issues. .you don't know what you are talking about

you pronounced METE correctly, mete was a Turkish comamnder lived 4th century BC and also he divided his army into 10people and its value and used whistled arrows when to thrown so enemy could not figure out what sort of the Turkish army. thank you all reading short info.
By far a better trigger Better grip angle and all around better value then a G17 hands down. A glock is a great entry level no frills pistol. But any glock you buy takes 3-400.00 to make it to the way you would want it. And they are way better pistols than glock today for a variety of reasons. Just my .02.
My plans are to get 1000 rounds into the Canik ny spring with little to no maintenance. If it makes it I would say the Canik is on the same level as glock with better trigger

Because you get alot for the money. Most brands cost alot more with all the features this gun has. The guns from Turkey is another reason.

My Canik is the only striker-fired gun I own that still has its factory trigger in it.
Word, My SFX is the only gun I haven't thought about doing a trigger job on because I'm afraid I'll make it worse.

the meat....I mean mete is hard to find. man when you get old you get stubborn. nothing wrong with that holster...fits mid an full size canik
I personally use my Mete SFT as a sleep aid. She sleeps next to me every night.
I haven’t touch my M&P since I got my METE. The trigger is outstanding and the gun operates beautifully.

First pistol I bought. Runs like a dream. Shot friends glocks and m&p and hk, and now they're looking at a canik for their edc

I am absolutely going to edc some SFX's, maybe a Blackout on one hip, whiteout on the other 🤔
I keep trying to tell people get one. I have both the SFT and SFX

Forgot to mention I shoot left so the glock gen5s being fully ambidextrous is kinda a big deal. Appreciate all the content, really helpful.

When i first opened the box i though the mini gun wrench was a little bb gun lol. Love this gun tho, wasn't expecting something so attention grabbing (i have the arctic distressed color), but almost anyone who sees it has to come check it out and they become instant fans. I don't even have to mention how accurate it is or how easy it is to clean, or how you can almost fit a box of ammo in 2 mags

I find it funny when people complain about the FREE holsters. Sure, they suck compared to a Kydex holster that you'd spend $100 on. Of course they aren't that good. But they're there, and they get you going.

I’m 80, so ease of racking the slide is paramount. I realize this is difficult to measure except subjectively or relatively. I have sold my Glocks and Walther. Hammer fired Sigs are usable and CZs are marginally usable. Would you address this problem for your olderaudience please?

Hi there, I am about to by my first gun and of course I have fell in love with Canik pistols. I think I would go for the Canik METE, but, watching this video I woul like to ask a question. What would be a better option Canik METE fst or Canik METE sfx?
I have also wondered which one would be a better choice between the two. If you have the option to try them out at the range, that would be my suggestion. See which is more pleasant to shoot (if there is a difference to you) and which is more accurate for you.
A lot of mete SFT’s for sale online for $410-$450 plus shipping and ffl fees. For what you get it really is a bargain. Caniks are fun to shoot. Super accurate at long with a range with a red dot. Case comes with everything you need to get started including a take down punch, cheap reversible holster, and red dot plates. I wish all guns came with all the goodies canik included. Just know that it’s a big full-size gun, so not everyone would want to attempt to conceal this. And they are slightly higher bore and not as much of a grip angle as a Glock, which might matter to some. Still rocks!

would this be a good choice for everyday carry? I have narrowed it down to Glock, sig, and can. Canik is really starting to take my heart. I wish I could shoot them to see how they feel, but sadly I do not have the opportuinty to do that.
All depends on your preference it’s a full size pistol. With the right holster I don’t think it would be an issue

Got one about a month ago. Been to the range twice. It shoots almost indistinguishably from my much pricier Glock.

Not saying it’s better. But In the striker fire under 600.00 pistols. I feel this is by far currently the best bang for the buck.

I'd go with the TP9 CS. Same mag and trigger but smaller frame and shorter barrel.

What is wrong with the holster that comes with it? I have one an almost sold it because it wasn't that impressive. I have the ( V2) and it shoots just as well as my METE SFT.
Not sure what after market holsters are available but it probelry will fit Walther holsters, I would guess.
Does this feel any different than shooting an Elite SC? Seems like it wouldn't be. Same exact trigger. Same style of grips. Outside of a collectors mindset it seems redundant for an SC owner
Softer shooting. Little more balance for me. In my hands. Cant go wrong with either pistol

Great guns, but they still need one or two more fine adjustments to be on the level of a true 'bet your life on' type gun. For me atleast
So how have you tested other pistols as “bet your life”on guns? In most cases the Pistol needs to fire 3-6 rounds. What type testing do you want. What gun are you carry today? Thanks for the comment.
@@rdrgear I agree that a gun might only need to fire 8 rounds to save my life. But then again it might not have to fire at all. I hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Canik have some AMAZING features. The price and triggers are off the top of my head things I love. But I have owned 2 models. Tp9sf elite one series, and the old tp9sfx. The sfx I dropped quickly because you lose the rear sight. Now do I need the rear sight? Maybe not, but once again I hope for the best but prepare for the worst. The tp9sf elite one series I had extractor issues within less than 2k rounds. So I gave it up just because. Sample size not very large I get it. Nevertheless that doesn't bode well for a company that is new and trying to make a name for themselves. I appreciate your opinion, and I'm sure you've seen more examples than me, that's why I value it. But at the same time you'll never convince me otherwise after my own experiences. And that's the honest truth. Cheers mate
I've had glocks with extractor issues as well.

By far a better trigger Better grip angle and all around better value then a G17 hands down. A glock is a great entry level no frills pistol. But any glock you buy takes 3-400.00 to make it to the way you would want it. And they are way better pistols than glock today for a variety of reasons. Just my .02.

I love my canik elite combat but I think when it comes to ergonomics it goes to the Walther pdp
My plans are to get 1000 rounds into the Canik ny spring with little to no maintenance. If it makes it I would say the Canik is on the same level as glock with better trigger
