The fact that Stark managed to stay calm throughout this entire battle is crazy. Like he's literally scrapping with one of the strongest and most powerful heroes in the Marvel Universe
I mean, the way he nearly shat bricks when Hulk looked up at him after spitting out that tooth, and his tone of voice soon after. You could tell he was losing control of the situation and feeling it.
I took a Dental Assisting class back in the day and learned that in dentistry at least, there was absolutely a time where the Dr would knock out the patient with a hard blow to the head before anesthetics became a thing. You can look this up.
Okay but can we appreciate the ingenious features Tony implemented into the Hulkbuster armor? I mean, a mechanism in the arm that can trap the Hulk to take him out of inhabited areas. And a pod that can deploy spare parts in the middle of a fight. That last one is really cool because it shows that Tony is smart enough to know that instead of making a “invulnerable” suit that Hulk would just tear through, he created a design that could be easily repairable mid-fight to fix that issue. All of them are such brilliant ideas.
I love the idea behind Veronica. He couldn't make armor the hulk couldn't destroy, so he made a suit made of sacrificial parts and a floating armory to continuously replenish damaged bits.

I really like the detail that Banner helped design this suit. The little guy knows how the big guy do, and built countermeasures. Things like the replacable limbs, the device that traps Hulk's hand, or whatever gas Tony was spraying Hulk with (probably a sedative) are likely Banner's ideas, based on his knowledge of how Hulk thinks and fights.
Something I just noticed is you can tell exactly when Hulk "snaps out of it" 3:40 You can hear it in his groan. It's as if he's just awoken from the worst nightmare (which he literally just has) and takes a couple seconds to clear himself up. You can even see his skin change slightly after he calms down; from a muddy green to the jade giant we're all used to. It's minor details like that that keep me coming back to Phase 1 and 2 battle scenes
Have to admit strange how in the comic Tony didn't make the hulk buster the same as this where it can get spair parts at least from what comic issue a seen.
@@Inkognito-ts4to actually that did happen. It happened for about 5 minutes until the teachers arrived. I escaped somehow and was able to defend and rotate one of the blames from my friends. Around 16 students got punishment that day. But you know what, it was totally worth it.

I love how well this shows Hulks resilience and power. Realistically, nobody else had any chance of stopping him except MAYBE Thor. Tony had a suit designed specifically for bringing down the Hulk and still nearly failed. He had to beat on hulk for four minutes and then drop a skyscraper on him before it slowed Hulk down enough to knock him out.

He was lucky that he was able to scan an entire building that was completely empty for some reason (plot armor, because if Iron Man loses, then no one stops Hulk for awhile and he starts killing large amounts of people). He used that building to his advantage by smashing Hulk through all those floors and then having it collapse on top of both of them. Hulk gets up first, and is getting angry again. If Hulk didn't calm down after taking a moment and seeing all those injured civilians, he would have already been angry again and continued rampaging, Iron Man would've lost.

It was so beautiful the chemistry all the actors had together. Seriously, the MCU from Iron Man 1 to Endgame was an event and a moment in movie history. It will never be duplicated.

It’s fun to think how incredibly advanced even Tony’s normal suits were at this point. Compared to what he had in Iron Man 1, it makes Obadiah Stane’s War Monger look like a cheap used car. All 3 of the Iron Man movies had Tony struggling with keeping his suits fully charged. But by Ultron he was using stuff like the Hulkbuster no problem.

The attention to detail in this is great. If you pay attention to the glass behind Tony at 2:39 you can see Hulk's reflection in the window as he jumps at Tony right before he appears on screen
2:40 the way hulk just keeps punching the hulkbuster armour as well as all the glass windows that are getting smashed while both rise up the building as more glass gets destroyed the further they go upwards is pretty cool
This scene in the context of infinity war shows that Stark is not just some super genius but also an extremely good tactician and fighter. Bruce banner with the hulk buster in infinity war was no where near this good, thus showing Stark’s skill with his suits.
Well of course, they're tailor made to suit Tony's eccentricities. Banner driving Veronica was... I mean... the closest and most apt description i can think of is 'stealing Tony's socks' He can wear them but it's going to feel weird.
Stark just did his homework on all the other avengers. It wouldn’t surprise me if he had made suits specialized for them and to enhance their abilities. Look at what he cooked up for Parker in CACW.
Stark has skill with his suits because he designed them and has fought in them for years. You expect banner to just hop in a suit and run it like Tony. He doesn't have PhD's to fly a plane you know.

Lmao, banner is the one who co-designed the hulk buster. It wasn't just about stark doing his homework. Read a comic and watch the movie. Ironman is cool, but he isn't some living tribunal.
I mean, I would have rather seen Frat Hulk from Thor Ragnarok as that Hulk had a personality and some level of intelligence. This Hulk is little more than an animal running on base impulse emotions. If this Hulk (or rather, I assume you mean the 'good' Hulk since this specific Hulk was enraged to attack anything) was in End Game, he still would have been a liability to the Avengers. Frat Hulk would have been a solid, stable and unstoppable ally in the final fight. But I will agree that Professor Hulk was awkward and an absolute let down. Much like the majority of End Game's run time.
Can we take a moment to appreciate that Tony: 1. tries to get Hulk out of the city 2. only decides to throw him into a building when his suit is getting heavily damaged and he doesn't know how much longer he can last 3. checks for civilians inside the building 4. buys the building 5. fires 4 rockets to perform a more controlled demolition of the building. Like there really isn't much more he could've done.
I don't understand, why getting Banner out of town wasn't literally the first thing he tried after talking failed. There were civilians everywhere and Tony starts throwing the Hulk around and shooting lasers.

She essentially murders a bunch of innocents with Hulks hands, but NO ONE remembers that.
Jokes are one of Tony's stress coping mechanisms. You could hear it at a few points in the fight, he's genuinely scared. He's trying to balance the need to get the Hulk controlled, but doing everything he can not to actually have to kill him. I think there was a point where he felt he might just have to go all out and try to make the takedown permanent. His "Come on, Banner" was practically pleading with him.

I love how hulk wasn't even mildly angry here either. Like it's been noted that the hulk can boil lakes with the sheer ammount of rage he can muster. Tony was honestly lucky that the Hulk was just having a tantrum and not getting genuinely pissed.
Even though it was just a side plot. I was waiting for this fight since the ending of the incredible hulk. One of my favorite underrated side plots. This fight scene is memorable.
One thing people fail to mention that I love, is how aware Hulk is. He never even looked back or seen that pod sending Tony parts but still manages to take both the parts & the pod out.

He was lucky that he was able to scan an entire building that was completely empty for some reason (plot armor, because if Iron Man loses, then no one stops Hulk for awhile and he starts killing large amounts of people). He used that building to his advantage by smashing Hulk through all those floors and then having it collapse on top of both of them. Hulk gets up first, and is getting angry again. If Hulk didn't calm down after taking a moment and seeing all those injured civilians, he would have already been angry again and continued rampaging, Iron Man would've lost.

As time passes, Age of Ultron looks better and better.
It’s fun to think how incredibly advanced even Tony’s normal suits were at this point. Compared to what he had in Iron Man 1, it makes Obadiah Stane’s War Monger look like a cheap used car. All 3 of the Iron Man movies had Tony struggling with keeping his suits fully charged. But by Ultron he was using stuff like the Hulkbuster no problem.

This scene in the context of infinity war shows that Stark is not just some super genius but also an extremely good tactician and fighter. Bruce banner with the hulk buster in infinity war was no where near this good, thus showing Stark’s skill with his suits.
Well of course, they're tailor made to suit Tony's eccentricities. Banner driving Veronica was... I mean... the closest and most apt description i can think of is 'stealing Tony's socks' He can wear them but it's going to feel weird.
Stark just did his homework on all the other avengers. It wouldn’t surprise me if he had made suits specialized for them and to enhance their abilities. Look at what he cooked up for Parker in CACW.
Stark has skill with his suits because he designed them and has fought in them for years. You expect banner to just hop in a suit and run it like Tony. He doesn't have PhD's to fly a plane you know.

I mean, I would have rather seen Frat Hulk from Thor Ragnarok as that Hulk had a personality and some level of intelligence. This Hulk is little more than an animal running on base impulse emotions. If this Hulk (or rather, I assume you mean the 'good' Hulk since this specific Hulk was enraged to attack anything) was in End Game, he still would have been a liability to the Avengers. Frat Hulk would have been a solid, stable and unstoppable ally in the final fight. But I will agree that Professor Hulk was awkward and an absolute let down. Much like the majority of End Game's run time.
A ball of rage in every film would get dull, they have to try to develop the character a bit.
Can we take a moment to appreciate that Tony:
1. tries to get Hulk out of the city
2. only decides to throw him into a building when his suit is getting heavily damaged and he doesn't know how much longer he can last
3. checks for civilians inside the building
4. buys the building
5. fires 4 rockets to perform a more controlled demolition of the building.

Tony had to defeat a the Hulk, but at the same time protect the civilians, and think of jokes. This man is one hell of a man.
Hulk would not normally do this, before he was subdued by Wanda. Like in the University Battle, he’s trying to defend himself against Ross’s forces.
Jokes are one of Tony's stress coping mechanisms. You could hear it at a few points in the fight, he's genuinely scared. He's trying to balance the need to get the Hulk controlled, but doing everything he can not to actually have to kill him. I think there was a point where he felt he might just have to go all out and try to make the takedown permanent. His "Come on, Banner" was practically pleading with him.

@@ABGP97That’s not the point. It’s more the fact that Hulk hates being dehumanised. People see him as a dumb beast, rather than a person. Saying Banner’s name makes him angry because Banner is constantly under the belief that the Hulk is incapable to anything other than fighting. Only a weapon. Which is why Hulk feels so much hate to Banner. Also that plus the fact, that on numerous occasions Banner has been trying to get rid of the Hulk.

I love how at the end when scarlet witch's spell is done you can see as the Hulk calms down you can see his muscles literally shrinking in size. Plus that look of confusion and guilt on his face before he satrts getting pissy again is golden.

@@dightonazpeitia4350 well to be fair the power scaling in IW is TRASH. Russo brothers confirmed Thanos WASNT using the power stone. Which means Base thanos > Base hulk. If he is stronger than Hulk how in the hell could any of the Avengers (excluding Thor) defeat him? Also, Cap somehow held back Thanos punch in Wakanda, so Cap > Hulk?? I loved infinity war but the power scaling is some Dragon Ball Z type shit
