Privileged. To be in this scene was amazing. You danced next to people you had never met and were friends. A pass of a spliff or some water bottle. Always apologising if you bumped in to anyone or they you. Looking at other dancing styles and being able to tell their top three tracks from the moves and the clothes. Friendly doesn't really cover it. Gurning was optional (and fun) but smiling and nodding essential. And the tunes? Some just hit you. They moved your body for you. Suddenly you wanted to dance, but not as though no one was watching you, more because everyone around you was sharing something with you. Loud? Certainly. But music that just played you like an instrument. Once you fell in love with those synths, drum machines, squelches and patterns and that was you. In love for ever. Still am.

I'm 55 now and not one day passes by where my mind never stops tracking back to those days.. I never done the dance mental like I did with those tunes. One more thing... You see my pic, that's a diary I wrote in 1989 called Strobe Steppa... Basically throughout the whole of 89' I'd rave to parties, illegals, open air and warehouses... All original flyers from 89' only. Partying non stop at places like Sunrise and Back To The Future, Energy, Biology, Shelleys, Hacienda, Dungeons, Clink Street, Shoom, Nut House, Labyrinth, Camden Palace, The Park, Kensington, Dingwall, Shoom, Spectrum at Heaven, Future etc.. Loads more including the first press release of Roland's Tb303... It really is my pride and joy looking back now 31 years later... Nothing can touch this era musically as far as I'm concerned.. What can I say, it was pure magic!
Yes am 57 now and had second bite of the cherry so to speak in the 90s . Nothing would or could ever compare to the rave scene from fighting every weekend to wanting to talk to everyone was a mad feeling for me . Had some great times that’s for sure.
7 years older than me . I saw 2 old ladies that were pentioners in Shelleys stoke on trent back then with us . I was convinced that Old Age is bullshit .
Yeah am 60 now, similar situation, must say was a very young 28 y.o in 1990 raved from 89 to 1995 still love dancing and music, fond memories of those times and new music that has that spirit, just a bit slower bpms obviously things are different now but still find moments of serendipity. never stop feeling, doing what you love, while you can and ur heart is still beating.
that exact thing ...i also had 2nd bite and was mad raver from 89-92 ...26-29 years old ...went to Shellys every Friday nights for the whole of 90-91....top Pills Magical Girls ...insane music ..pre cell phone ..
Mate, there is nothing else out there like these videos you do, even syncing some of the tunes in your mix to clips of the artists in the video. You are an absolute genius. I don't even want to imagine how long this took to put together.
Boy do I miss these years in my life the 90s were the best times I've been to a lot of raves during those years dancing my butt off till 7:00 in the morning such great times great music great atmosphere everyone was cool and got along positive vibes
the rave scene had such a profound effect on society, especially in the uk, that the generation involved in it carried it forward to the point where it's become a huge influence on electronic music, trends and just everyday life, even now. it's like the classical music of the 90s. it'll never go away. it will always be felt, even if people weren't directly involed in it or wasn't even born yet.
I never slept In a Real Bed for Months on end. Just slept In the Car or Van whatever We could get as transport to take us to the next Gig. I still have all the records Signed by Everyone that was part of this Fantastic Culture. 7:26 Mark and Chris Pioneers Nigh Inventors of Rave. Before You say they jumped on the Bandwagon like the Prodigy did, They were Not called Altern 8 back then, They were Nexus 21. How do I know They lived just up the road from Me. Also another Stafford band that was there at the Beginning Bizarre inc. Started In 1988 as a Detroit Sound with Reggae Toasters Providing the Chat. Then In 1989 Started to get around to more People. By 1991 It was all over the News and Papers you could not get away from It. A Big boost to the Pirate Radio Stations giving out codes to what Petrol Station or Motorway Services to go to, to find out where the next one going to be. Just The best time to Young and Free to do what We want to do. I was 18 again just Watching this, Brilliant. Top One, Nice One, Get Sorted, Get Mental In The House.
Look how we all came together and made it happen WITHOUT mobile phones or social media. We really did have a rave. Shame some will never get to experience that euphoria we did.
I needs to happen again or we and the next generation are totally fkd..................... LOVED EVERY YEAR FROM 88 -94 - pure madness, just for a brief moment there was hope - until greed stepped in and smashed us with thatchers criminal justice bill............................ but you must never give up hope....
I didnt get to go to my first Rave until 1993..... It changed my whole life!!!! It made me be such a better human to others and to myself!!! Those days are really sacred..... its hard to explain exactly what one felt when at a rave back then. Now its so commercial but at least it is still going!!!!
Hairs on my arms are all standing up!! .... what a year that was .. and 92 .... i was just out of shot in that cambridge eclipse clip ... i think i was there 😬😝
To much people control now, not getting this again. This was the only time to have been young!! Thank f$ck was a part of it. Treasure those memories people! God bless ya...😉
Massive respect from Mauritius. Was thee only Mauritian raving from friday to sunday, yess DAY Rush,Respect to man like Simon,Pajo-Joseph,HESHAM from BArnet,Marina from finchley .im loving this LOCKDOWN.
Awesome mate... My first rave was 1991 at clyro court... up and coming dj ratty was playing and the music just blow my mind, ended up doing the rave thing for 12 years but didnt like how the music was split so stuck to techno but i love 91/92 hardcore and always will... maid my day listening to this \0/\0/
Just listened to your '92 mix and this is just as good! I've got most of these tunes. In '91 I was too young to rave....but I was buying tunes, collecting flyers, listening to the pirates (and making tapes), hearing tales from older mates who did go raves, learning to mix and scratch on two wobbly, shitty belt drive decks (with no pitch control!) and playing at a few parties....wicked days! Got some fake ID and started raving in the summer of '92! These riddims are a huge part of my youth!
The best era of my life would go back in a heartbeat, I seen people trying to rave into days world they haven't got a clue and never will you had to be a 90s rocker. ✊
Wow!!! That brought me back to some awesome times on the dancefloor!!! '91 in the Los Angeles scene. Still going today! Old habits die hard, Going to Love Long Beach this weekend, Doc Martin, DJ Dan, Marques Wyatt and many others will be there keeping the scene alive and bringing the kids too!
Well that's 9 mins of smiling... I now have face ache.....:) Memories keep us all going - these ill never forget.. They'll never be a youth culture like it again... so glad I was at the heart of it all.. Still catch a few raves now days but nowhere near the same and i often ask myself if the young ones look at me and my buddies thinking 'They're old' :) But you don't stop raving because you get old... you get old because you stop raving!!! Love to all those crew's out there ....
Everyone who got to experience these days in the 90s and dance music... I fully! Envy you all!.. I felt like I was born In the wrong time , no cell phones , jus full on face to face genuine interactions and experiences being made with some of the sickest music I heard well.. late 90s n early 2000s was fuckin sick to but again.. times like.. I wish! I was old enough to party in the UK at these times. I was only a 1 year old in 91 . Good times I wish I was apart of
Wicked DJ wishes I could scratch like that great tunes 90 to 93 was the best tunes for my liking went to a lot of them raves having started in 88 also got loads of them on vinyl too in your 91 and 92 mixes I still love playing and mixing them to now hardcore will never die in my book I still go out now manly free party's and wont this lock down to end having bought a rig last year so I put some party's on myself. As 1record said I won't stop rocking till I retire. Peace unity love and having fun yours DJ BIG G 😁
Who would go back in a heartbeat.......

NIce one Faydz.. best days of my life out raving - Might even have to dust the 1210's off :-)
Fantastic
Loved it
You legend!! Thank you!!
Outstanding 🙂 👍
What can I say, it was pure magic!
amen brother, tears in my eyes looking back at how we use to party, 48 now and feel old.
Dang, I feel this comment. Alike you, I've got paraphernalia from back then. But you know, it just seems like last week sometimes, eh?
Grind/death and crust was really taking off at that time too
Hairs on the back of my neck still haven't gone down, music when it was made for the fans not for the corporations.
They stole our sounds & put most of them on the radio several years ago .
They classed it as POP to ruin it .
Cheep Decriminalized copies
Couldn't have been said better bro
You know it's old school when Carl Cox still has hair 8)
and Moby
Mental mix, like a 12 hr rave in 10 mins!!
Absolutely brilliant, brings back such good memories for us 40 somethings
Crazy times bring it back
I've got a grin from ear to ear see this.... And Younger Generations from now onwards will never understand what they missed out on....✌️
Best year ever. Absolutely blinding mix Faydz. 👌🏻
Yes mate probably the best time of our lives
Watching this makes me want to cry. Best times of my life.
Wasn’t even born in 91 but I’m nostalgic anyway
Never be beaten, never to be repeated. So lucky to have witnessed this.
Best music in the world still love it
This mix is so awesome, but we need some timestamps so we can find these bangers!
You should already have 'em all. Get with it :)
Cant find
your no dj
Mate, there is nothing else out there like these videos you do, even syncing some of the tunes in your mix to clips of the artists in the video. You are an absolute genius. I don't even want to imagine how long this took to put together.
This Era will never be repeated,I'm so glad i was there.
God I miss these times so much
Great times will always be in my heart, like someone said on a previous comment we were lucky ones 1991 best year for me eclipse in coventry
Boy do I miss these years in my life the 90s were the best times I've been to a lot of raves during those years dancing my butt off till 7:00 in the morning such great times great music great atmosphere everyone was cool and got along positive vibes
Omg..sterns in Worthing..what memories..R,i,p mencer 💙
the rave scene had such a profound effect on society, especially in the uk, that the generation involved in it carried it forward to the point where it's become a huge influence on electronic music, trends and just everyday life, even now. it's like the classical music of the 90s. it'll never go away. it will always be felt, even if people weren't directly involed in it or wasn't even born yet.
Going to work on a Monday still buzzing, but hitting a brick wall around 12 Midday .... Home, bed, no dinner !!
I was a Raver from 87-93, my back & Jaw never were the same again.
Edit: 😋
Big up Brighton crew.. In-ter-dance posse.
All Sterns underground crew.
respect
The love dove generation 😜 but altern8 I love as there my local classic rave scene go to as I only live 5 mins from Stafford myself
Look how we all came together and made it happen WITHOUT mobile phones or social media. We really did have a rave. Shame some will never get to experience that euphoria we did.
I went way back smiling hard. Thank you
We almost had ourselves a proper cultural revolution there, didn’t we. Almost. Great memories of The Warehouse in Leeds and raves around the north.
Paul Mulryne Warehouse posse in the ‘House
Now that takes me back. The warehouse was my second home, and the gallery. Thanks for reminding me 👍
I needs to happen again or we and the next generation are totally fkd..................... LOVED EVERY YEAR FROM 88 -94 - pure madness, just for a brief moment there was hope - until greed stepped in and smashed us with thatchers criminal justice bill............................ but you must never give up hope....
OMG you have ALL the tunes!! Respect! Love it.. xxxx
Ahhhhh... now in my 40s I now know this was the only time we were truly free in everyway.. The time was ours. What a buzz. Sad for my kids llol.
I didnt get to go to my first Rave until 1993..... It changed my whole life!!!! It made me be such a better human to others and to myself!!! Those days are really sacred..... its hard to explain exactly what one felt when at a rave back then. Now its so commercial but at least it is still going!!!!
Gòod to see sanctuary milton Keynes is on here ... many a good night there 😁😁😁
i remember most of the dj's on the flyers these were the best days ever
Oh gosh, what a mix. The sound of my youth. Cheers from Germany.

Awesome mate... My first rave was 1991 at clyro court... up and coming dj ratty was playing and the music just blow my mind, ended up doing the rave thing for 12 years but didnt like how the music was split so stuck to techno but i love 91/92 hardcore and always will... maid my day listening to this \0/\0/
Don't live to far from there
Brilliant and bonkers. What times they were. The nation was truly rocking to the beat.
Fades ,,, every time you still banging it bro ... The vada... Like the manix keep the dream alive
this is different! cheers bruv! 1991 1992 were the BEST years for free parties.
Top Top Dj, all the best tunes and not long enough. A master at your game
Faydz youre a wizard. Ive never met a wizard but youre close enough

Great mix - 53 yrs old now - I remember all of those
48 now and wish I was back in the best music era 89-92
c'est vraiment innovant pour des titres de l'époque HOUSE de 1991 SUPER
We had a recession in 91 so we went out to clubs and danced the night away
The best era of my life would go back in a heartbeat, I seen people trying to rave into days world they haven't got a clue and never will you had to be a 90s rocker. ✊
Dj das antigas...the best.🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👍🏻
DJ Faydz is majestic :). Am Age 48 !

I'm genuinely chuffed to have been included in such esteemed company, ty Faydz ❤
You never know how good it is until it's gone ...... HARDCORE WILL NEVER DIE .
Well this is an excellent video and perfectly captures the spirit of a wonderful time and an amazing movement.
Brings back many memories..... thankyou..... 😎🌞😎
My gosh. Some real classics I had forgotten about. I wasnt able to go to most raves but I have the MIXTAPES which I will never get rid of. 👍🏾🙃🤩
Good times I wish I was apart of
What a time never forget
Love Faydz thank you
The Technics came first..
What a incredible mash up and a window to that timeless era.... Long live technologyx
Technics yes these digital mixing pads are an insult .
You need malware instaled to use them as well
A SP still got mine from the mid 90’s, not rubbing it in or anything lol
A SP never will, I don’t use them atm but I’d rather keep them than have the cash!
Amen. Goosebumps
