A lot of people don't know how hard it is to do what she's doing. The tune selection is 100%, let alone the seamless mixing on 1210's.

Oh, I know! It’s why, I also know she is the goddess of Jungle! It took me years to be able to do this shit. 99 to current. I don’t use computers. Yea, I have my CD decks, but they are basic. My 1210 MK5-G’s, Pioneer 600 DJM MIXER, amp, speakers, and wax! I wonder how many newer dj’s can even jog two records for longer than a minute? Hell, 15 seconds, without help from a freaking beat counter. Yes. I couldn’t agree more with this comment!

It really takes a lot of intense focus to do this on vinyl, no time for cake throwing. And omg the tune selection.... It's ridiculous. What a record crate.
That was like an old rave when they played early UK breaks, Belgian techno and US/Detroit techno. All big tunes welcome no matter the type of dance music. My favourite era.

We all did bro 😂 I remember dancing on the stage this one night in a club where Dj Rap was playing back in the mid 90s and I was inching my way closer to the decks to try and say hello to her hahaha. I managed to worm my way behind the decks and said hello along with a load of other stuttering words that most probs made no sense. I was proper star struck plus I'd double dropped 2 Doves. I was 16 at the time and now 44 as well😮😊

Historically, for music, rave and clubbing scene the 90s was the decade where we witnessed everything take form from the grassroots, underground, illegals to the mega rave and all the dance music take on other forms, genres and sub genres. I'm so glad my teen years were in the 90s, it was a blast, for us all 😊

After watching this I brought a pair of 1210's, mixer and sound system - dug out my old record collection - happy days!!!!!!! sold all my DJ gear years ago.......... never again.
A divorce forced my sell off and I too am finding my way back home. Happy spinning friend!

@@jimdoyles He is talking about Technics 1210 turntables. They are not cheap. A decent working unit will cost $350 or more. You can find some workable Denon or Numark tables for less but nothing compares to the Technics. Watch some turntable videos on UA-cam as they will go over the specs and performance of the tables.

Kids have it easy these days with the sync button and the BPM counter. Kids take a look at DJ Rap. Learn how to mix with Technics 1200 and you will be able to use any CDJ or controller with ease. More old skool videos please DJ Rap!

+Dougie That and adjusting the monitor level. And never forget to turn the eq knobs back to neutral for the next track or you loost the headroom. Which means that you could have a track going but you can't give it a punch anymore when you need it if all the 3 eq knobs are wide open...

First saw dj rap in my teens many years ago at the legendary entropy in Stoke. Thought then she was awesome, she still has the skills with vinyl just like she did back in the day. Im 46 now and still bounce around and love the old school tunes. Big respect dj rap for putting a big smile on my face x

I love all these lockdown mixes she's doing. Technically, Raps mixing style is super efficient for these old skool sets. Quick in, quick out, using the EQ, minimal FX, no chops or cuts, or fancy tricks, just nice and smooth quickfire blends.
No time for set dynamics, just slammer after slammer, which is great for these shorter sets. Straight to it, no fucking about.
Her timing of the breaks is the key here, which is why you see her restart her cue numerous times for each mix, anticipating the right space for the drops. Doesn't matter that she only plays 90 seconds to 2 minutes of each track, with a 20-30 second mix. It's high energy all the way. Propa Mixing!

As soon as I see a laptop I think fake. I taught an 8 year old to mix with a laptop in about 30 minutes.
If I am not mistaken they are Technic SL1210 decks just like I had.
And it brings back memories of mixing of keeping on the move and keeping touching knobs, even though you can see where they are set and not moved!!! :)
