    IN IS1893 now clause has been updated and can you also tell how to calculate storey displacements, I have created g+11 and g+15 model in SAP 2000 so should i take maximum storey displacement of both the buildings or storey displacement at 11th floor for both the buildings?

      @@acecivilengineer6863 My college sir told me to work on Adjacent Structures with damping system in between and we want to design that system on Software. So is it feasible or not? And how I can proceed further on that topic. If you can guide me in that direction, it will be much helpful...

      See, adjacent structures do collide, because they do have different seismic behaviour. As you said, you r going to use some dampers in between, that is really a great idea from your college sir. It is definitely feasible, provided you do have the damping characteristics like its stiffness, damping coef.,etc which you can provide as a support in any analysis software.
      You need to proceed by considering two different structures of different heights (to ensure their seismic behaviour is different). Then provide a support at the locations, where u give the dampers and then analyse the model. You need to come up with different displacements for different load combinations and check whether they collide or not. If they are still colliding, then simply increase the dampness of the dampers what u use. Hope i made u clear in understanding. I also understand, sky is the limit, for the depth u would like to proceed further into this topic.😊
