The mighty Feelgood. For me, the greatest live band of all time. The sense of excitement at their gigs was incredible. I saw a mosh pit at an early gig before mosh pits were a thing! This is the first video I have been able to view since Wilko passed away (it just upset me too much). Thank you for your honest reaction. RIP Wilko and Lee...there is a mural at Canvey Island of you all. You will never be forgotten.

I was at this gig, which was filmed at The Kursaal Ballroom, Southend-on-Sea (my home town). I saw some of the earliest Dr F gigs in 1972/73 whereby they came from nearby Canvey Island - this particular gig was something of 'a return of the conquering heroes' and would form one side of their #1 live album 'Stupidity'.

I love Dr Feelgood, thank you. Was at this gig, I went to a punk gig last night, with the Phobics, The London Sewage Company and Fire Exit tis their 45th anniversary tour. Lee wore the same suit for the tour lol was just a magic time, the 70's just rocked and was bloody good fun 🌟

My niece’s husband plays guitar in a punk band in Boise, Idaho. Punk is still alive and well in the 21st century! Long live rock ... ✌️

Such a great band. Excellent back up vocals from the Big Figure. And of for sure...Wilko and his pickless guitar work...what a master!

I was at this show. I had seen the band previously, so I knew what to expect, but on that day, in Southend, they were phenomenal. It's one of my all-time favourite gigs. I used to see Wilko at one of the music pubs in Southend, propping up the bar - though he couldn't drink in his last years, he was still the laconic, dry, wit he had always been, and it was a pleasure to talk to the man.

Dr F legend has it that Lee Brilleaux wore that (originally white) suit every night of that tour. Without cleaning it.

Hi Terry ... Sounds like our gym clothes we wore in our senior high school year ... we just threw them away on the last day of school ... Wonder if Lee did the same after the tour?

@@drivingwithtodd1781 I expect by that stage, your gym kit and Lee's suit could have walked to the laundry by themselves.

Wow! Thank you for giving me this wonderful reaction video. They are a legendary pub rock band and are always my favorite band. They are a great band that should be more widely known in the world. Please watch the live video of "She Does It Right", "Back in the Night"! They are performing with great energy. Also, check out The Pirates, a band that has had a strong influence on Dr. Feelgood's guitarists. The band had an amazing rhythm guitarist called Mick Green. They are especially amazing when they reunited in a trio band without Johnny Kidd in the 70's.

Hi Katsu ... Thank you for your comment. I will take a look at the Feelgood videos you suggest. I have heard of the Johnny Kidd and the Pirates but not sure if I have heard anything by them. Take care and rock on ... 😎✌

Saw Dr Feelgood 2/3 years ago, obviously Lee and Wilco are no longer with us, but the new generation really rocked the old classics. Still a great night out.

Saw the first two line-ups of the Feelgoods about five times back in the 70s. Great live act. Always great value for money.

Wilko Johnson was the foundation that a young Joe Strummer would develop his playing style and of course, on a Telecaster.

I think you may mean ‘simple’ not ‘simplistic’
Great band, still on the road without the 4 on that video. The great Steve Walwyn has sadly just left after 25 years.

Obviously, you know pub rock history .Just add fifties r'n'b, or "black" rock as sometimes people said(but r'n'r is the music of black american people anyway) was the major influence of Dr Feelgood.Count Bishops and the Inmates were also great bands .And Gordon Russell is one of my all time fave guitarists.

They were my home town band and I was 16. It was a lot of fun. The current band are not a bad blues band but are a very diferent band than the Wilko- Lee- John B and The Figure line up. If you want to check out the best of that London pub rock scene get an earful of Mick Green with the the Pirates. ua-cam.com/video/4kWR5p4T4gA/v-deo.html
