Young drummers, you hear how Steve has this kit tuned???? This is perfection.!!!! This is how a kit should sound.!!!!!
OK Boomer!
We can't bust heads like we used to-but we have our ways. One trick is to tell them stories that don't go anywhere like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so I decided to go to Morganville which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So, I tied an onion to my belt which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel. And in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. 'Give me five bees for a quarter,' you'd say. Now, where were we? Oh, yeah! The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time".

Yes, if you like exactly this sound then this is how you should tune your drums….
I once made a small drum shell set out of various diameters of industrial PCV pipe, a guy at a city maintenance yard had large diameter industrial PCV pipe and gave me just enough for a 3 piece set. They were the worst sounding things ever, fitted with the cheapest pawn shop hardware, but for some reason, the faster you hit them, the better they sounded and the loudest drums ever. I did end up selling them ha!
Stunning. A 20s Ludwig Black Beauty is already worth more than something by itself, leaving alone the history coming with this drum!
Steve, you are pure treasure… Just you being you. Such a delight to see and hear you play and share. Thank you so much for all that you do, have done and are for the drumming community. All the best to you and your son and your family ❤
Steve, you absolutely qualify and deserve to play this beautiful drum. However, if Nigel from Spinal Tap were a drummer, he’d say for us to not even breathe on it! 🤷🏻♂️😅👉🏼🥁
What a history man. That snare has been in the hands of some of the best drummers.
WOW 🤩
Inner mounting flame! Wow
What a freaking unbelievable provenance!!!! Astounding!
I just saw that original video with Papa Joe. Great to see that. It’s still in the world and still being used the way it should!
WOW! This is THE drum to own! Amazing history!
Inner Mounting Flame, wow. Great record. Quite a map of owners and history.
Fantastic history 😮 all of which are/were amazing drummers ❤❤❤🙏
Wow. That's a "timepiece" if ever there was one!
OMG - What a history!...Well, at least I own a 18" Ufip Natural China myself. I remember when I saw Charlie playing "my" cymbal in the Shine a Light movie. He had played other Ufip chinas and flat rides before, but I never had never seen him playing a Natural Series china - it sounded amazing. He used to play them up side down as a main crash on bis left side. That's a big part of bis sound.
WOW
WOW!!!
WOW!!! WWWWOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WWWWWOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would love to own the Charlie Watts china cymbal!! I can always dream can’t I????
